Scott's part 2

OK you guys.... I have just a few pictures left of the July show.  But first, I have to tell you that I saw some amazing things at the Mart the last few days.  Can I just tell you how hard it is to NOT purchase things.  You just get stars in your eyes and lose all sense of reality.  Most of the things are not even available for 2-3 months...which is good if you are an instant gratification kind of girl like "moi".

I attended 5 days and on average 5 hours a day......yes...I will put myself up against anyone in the "shopping arena".....or in my case "looking" but wishing I was actually stroking checks like I was Warren Buffett.

So without further delay....
Lets start with these little painted tables...Nice enough and honestly not THAT special right....  $1300 each.  Really....I could paint those blindfolded.  I am sure he got to pack those up and take them back home.
A whole tent full of skins.  I remember the first time I saw them there and asked about the price.  I believe they said something like 350.00 and I looked him square in the eye and said..."that is silly, I can order them all day long on the internet for 150-250".  You need to lower your prices.  I checked the other day and they were 250.00  People...do your research.

This is a table or African recycled beads.  I bought these for $15 each....

I saw them inside at a booth for $65 each.  Really?
Want some old corbels like mine?????

This had me standing there for five minutes...wondering where I could use it.....
OH gosh people.....do you want?

Thank goodness they did not have 2 of these......
I think I told you they have Chalk paint now......look at those great colors.
Met a really cute artist out of Jacksonville.  She will send her art or bring it to Atlanta [if you are here].  Here are a few other pictures of her work.
She said she can do anything and her prices were very reasonable.

More.
I love how layered her work is.  Her name is Holly Blanton.  904-294-5511.  hblanton13@gmail.com

What about one of these with mirror behind it for a headboard......
Purdy...and I love the skirt.
Hmmm....one 12 x 12 piece of glass tiles for the top of a table......
Look what I got the other day at a consignment shop for $6.00.....glass balls.

OK....as soon as I can organize my pictures there is some really swell eye candy coming up.

Yeah...it is Wednesday already.

Sherry, I truly need to find and paint pieces to sale if I can get $1300!! Unreal. I did not know they carry chalk paint. Hmmm, may have to go just for that.

I love that you not only go to Scott's to shop, but you also advise the vendors on how to price their items :) You're a hoot! And, the best tour guide for sure.

Wow...you and I would zero in on the same things... I am crazy about the pendant light with the black and bronze! I have the same beads. Love Holly's artwork. Is that Jacksonville, Florida? I am going there in October and could see if she has a gallery. Fun trip with you.

Eye candy of the day award to you! is Scott's a seasonal market? Those corbels and the light fixtures are all me...I would have such a hard time resisting a lot of that stuff.

So many great finds! I love the skirted chairs, and would love to see more of Holly's art. Wish she had a website.

Does Scott's take place every weekend?? I'd love to go there someday. Or, maybe you could just pick out some fun stuff for me :)

There are so many great pieces, I love the mirror! You are so right about the pricing of some of this stuff. Who do they think is going to pay that?

I love the mirrored sconces, it's so gorgeous! By the way, what are you planning to do with the glass balls? Hope you show us what you did with them in your future post! :)

I love the way you straightened that vendor out! Funny...
I'd like to grab and armload of those corbels, and those two chairs are awesome. 1300.00 each for those two tables... that's insane.

I had to laugh..not just a power shopper but also a pricer...way to go, I love it. I couldn't shop with you I'm a wimp compared to you. Looks like it was a lot of fun but what else did you buy besides $6 balls?

$1300 each for those lame ass painted tables? The skirted chairs are little too pretty for my house but I really adore them.

I'd be in financial ruin if that place were nearby.

Love the chalk paint. This is new to us...going to research to see where we can find it locally.

great finds - but some of those prices! SO wish I could find chalk paint here... can you believe that the Ace Hardware store I found here in Dubai doesn't sell even ONE kind of primer? no spray, no roll on.... nothing! hmmm

I love that you told the overpriced vendor that his prices were silly! You go, girl! There were some great things there, to be sure, but, when prices are even intermittently out of the ballpark, it takes the fun out of the hunt for me.

Thank you so much for shutting folks down on their prices! I'm glad I'm not the only one running my mouth to vendors about their ridiculous pricing!!! DO they not get on the internet? Overstock, the foundary, even walmart is killing their ass. Hell, do they want to sell their stuff or do they just like lugging overpriced furniture around?!

Loving all your finds!! I need some cool corbels and a pair of funky chairs!!

Maybe it is a good thing I don't live near good ole Scotty boy's place. I would be camping out at his door all the time. :-) xo
