CATCHING UP

I feel so bad leaving you guys hanging....I jumped back on Instagram because I really don't have to engage...but blogging is different.

It's been a little over a month and I am still struggling with overwhelming sadness.  I am haunted [as I knew I would be] with the visual of her last 2 days.  It was gut wrenching and not a good thing for an "empath" to experience.

Which is causing my nightmares at night and not being able to sleep.

I know I am not the only one who has experienced the loss of a loved one.....and my heart breaks for all of you that share this kind of heartbreak with me.

I miss her so darn much....everyday when I walk Cami around the block I go past her house and it  brings me to tears.  She was so amazing and about 400 people came to her funeral which blew me away....so many people telling me how she changed their life.

She was also the peace keeper in the family....never taking sides with anyone.

So....I have gone back to work although I am definitely not running at 100%.  I will try to catch you up with some of my projects!

The first one I will share is one that I have been working on for quite a while....she is the most patient client I have....for real.  I have also know her for over 20 years.....

This is her foyer and we got the rug a while back....then I brought in 2 of her DR chairs to extend the chest because it was too lonely.....

I sent her pictures of a lot of mirrors similar to the one we ended up with and  she was sending me mirrors that she liked but they were too modern.  I felt that with the chest having a modern feel I wanted something a little more "blingy" if you know what I mean....

She actually found the mirror and and picked out some art that she liked so I went over and got it all hung for her....

We added the crystal lamp and I remade 2 of her pillows smaller for the chairs....

I don't know about you but dang that antique mirror just makes it!  All art and the mirror were from Huff Harrington....a beautiful store here in Buckhead.

I am going to try and get back on a regular routine....but I have to tell you sometimes I feel this heaviness that does prevent me for engaging.

Also....thank all of you so much for the sweet comments...I read them all and was so comforted.

THIS AND THAT

Lord....Sunday and Cami.  What a day.  For the third time since January she had another UTI.  Something is going on and she is going to require some tests.

When I noticed the symptoms.....which of course every time has been on a weekend.... that means double the price right.  And because of Covid  you have to wait in your car.  That's always fun.

I took her around 11 AM and they could not get a urine specimen because I stupidly walked her before we left.  WTH.....

They said being her back in 3 hours and don't let her pee.  Crikey that is all she wants to do....or try to do anyway.  So I followed the directions and gave her 1/2 Tylenol and 1/2 Benadryl.  Then I left to go for a walk because I was so anxious I could hardly stand still.

I came back 1 1/2 later and she had peed a tiny bit at the back door [poor baby].  I took her back at 3:30.  Again....no urine.  God....by now I am teary and frustrated.

They said bring her back at 8:00.  So I drive home crying because at that moment....I felt my life was crumbling....which of course it wasn't but you know how frustration can cause a whole plethora of emotions.

Clean up your act Sherry.  I go home and think "how the hell can I get her to drink water?".  Lightbulb moment.  I fed her dinner with a half box of chicken stock.  I felt pretty smart at that moment.

I took her back at 8 and when they came out to get her I said "be careful and hold her leash tight cause she will try to pee".  People....when the doctor called me in the car and said she squatted right when she got in there I went  full on hysterical.  Yada....yada.....they managed to scoop some up and test.  Inconclusive on what type of bacteria but he knew not to give me disappointing news and gave me some medication.

I was spent after all of that.  Cami and I drove home totally exhausted from the day.

 She is still my boo.

So with all that [sounds like my dog ate my homework]  I am not prepared for a level 10 post today but I will just dump some pictures on you just in case you don't follow me on "the gram"  haha.

When I walking on the trail in my neighborhood I saw 5-6 of these cute little painted stones placed at the base of trees.....

I don't know who is doing them but they are so dang cute and made me smile:)

I know this is not quite the stage that garners interest but this is one of 2 projects that I have going on right now!

[builder] Ladisic Fine Homes and [architect] Linda MacArthur

Here is the other one....

I got this Charles Stewart ottoman recovered and it looks swell!

This room is coming together....so pictures soon!

This is what I wore to a client meeting the other day and my client had on a seersucker jacket also!

I think we will get on pretty good huh!

Finishing up this project and I am pretty happy with these paint colors.  SW Intellectual Gray and the trim is SW Anonymous.  I think it goes nicely with the stone.

Laundry room floor.....

I ventured out to one of my favorite stores the other day Huff Harrington.

The other day I wore these Gap camo jeggings with a frilly H&M top that I got last year.
I felt cute all day....haha

I went looking for a runner and saw these 2 beauties from Parviz Rugs.

I was trying to get organized in my office gathering up fabric memos to return to ADAC and got sidetracked.....easy for me to do!

The carpet is from Crescent Carpets called Ticking Stripe.

And I posted this "ootd" on Instagram to show that this is a sundress and I threw a shirt on over it and added a belt!

I start with Cami and end with her....

She is my partner....my buddy....and I can not imagine what my life would be without her during these trying times.  I have such highs and lows these days.  I am so unsure of my future and that is pretty darn scary for a 68 year old.  I am looking at having to work until I am in a wheelchair with a diaper on.  Ugh.

OK....gotta go walk Cami because the stare down from her is relentless....hee hee.

MORE HOUSE BEAUTIFUL BEHIND THE SCENES

Well yesterday was my last day at the beach and we will be driving home in an hour...... I am pretty sad.  Even though I was busy getting this place in shape the change of scenery was nice!

Like after a hards days work....this scene is available!

And I got to spend a little time with this bad girl:)  If you saw my instastories then you know what I mean....haha.

Right before the rollinfishandeathalfofit situation.

Enough fluff.....let's get back to design:)

Thought I would take you through the process of putting together the family room of the House Beautiful concept house.

I did about 5 floor plans and for many reasons [one being the angle of photography for the room]....this one worked the best.

This is a huge space with many openings so that can also drive the furniture arrangement.  As you know we worked with sponsors so there were limitations.

Covering myself:)

In the beginning I pitched this color way....

Which I still love and will use some day.  It speaks to my neutral loving heart!

I got this image back from HB and really in the end they preferred the Thibaut blue and red colorway.

So starting with the Lee Industries sofas [1931-03] covered in Thibaut Crypton fabric....

But of course some of these fabrics we couldn't get like the Penny Morrison that I wanted to use for curtains....we needed 64 yards!

As it worked out the Thibaut Cornelia fabric was a great choice....
Fireplace sponsored by Francois and Co. [Cleo mantel]
Art by Melissa Payne Baker through Huff Harrington.

So before we go any further let me explain something.  We had the big push to get it photo ready for August 23rd.  Of course I had to go around and gather a few pieces from local vendors along with some nice art to give the spaces a more curated look.  Then it all had to be returned.

Uh huh.

One month off and I had to do it all again for the week of activities!  Yes....you read that right.

I couldn't get the same pieces so I am going to show you different looks!

Many of these angles they did not use....not sure why because we created some nice moments in my opinion.

I managed to get the same chest from Huff Harrington but the exact art was not available!

2 different looks and I like them both....you?

Just beginning...the genius Michael Ladisic:)

Since the Loloi rug did not arrive in time for the photo shoot I went out and grabbed a few from Azra Rugs on Miami Circle.

Working on the finished look....

You can see that HB likes pattern on pattern....etc.

The photoshoot....

The party....different chest and art.

Then we put down the other rug....

It almost looks like a different room.....

Brass coffee table is Perigold [Studio A Home]
Rattan Bench is Ballard [recovered]
Pillows are Galbraith and Paul and Ryan Studio.

Before the party...there were a few accessories we couldn't get back.  Notice the large bowl on the coffee table is different.
Chair in the corner is from Perigold [Selamat Designs]
Floor lamp is Circa Lighting.

Large bowl is from Century Furniture at ADAC.

:)

The bottom rug is from another sponsor Stanton.

This is a small area in between the family room and LR which would be a nice place to sit with your laptop!

More sponsored product....

Light fixture is Circa Lighting
Desk is from Perigold [Bernhardt]
Table Lamp from Perigold [Bungalow 5]
Chair is from Stressless
Rug from Azra Oriental Rugs on Miami Circle

Love these cute chairs from Ballard...

And this was a little vignette that also did not make the magazine....

All the House Beautiful photography by Victoria Pearson.

So thats it.

You know what's funny....we made the LR an exercise/meditation room [cause who wants to workout in a basement right?] so after the photoshoot the house was being shown by agents [it's for sale] and they said people were confused and asked what is this room....how can we use it?

Come on....are you kidding me?  What's the problem....you will figure it out and besides it comes with the house.

People.....
