BEFORE AND AFTER

Hola there my friends......

We are almost finished with summer and it has been a hot one here in Atlanta!  Very humid so my hair has been in a permanent ponytail!

I have been staying busy trying to get things done.....which is always a struggle for me.  I don't remember being such a procrastinator in my early years.....but I guess I was:)

I started this boys room about a year ago!  It's pretty much finished and of course he is off to college now.

Let's start from the beginning.  It was already painted a blue but I wanted to go darker so I chose the old staple BM Hale Navy.  It is such a rich color....

We decided to keep the rug because it was fairly new and there was nothing wrong with it!

So now it is painted and has been measured for new curtains!

I had a bed custom made and though it was a little bit more expensive we did not have to wait a darn year to get it!

The curtains finally arrived and they were so pretty!

And the Charles Stewart chair made its way to Atlanta....

Got some pillows and bedding....

Love the trim on the curtains!

It is taking shape.
And then the end tables arrived....seriously y'all it is like Drip...drip...drip....:)

I ordered the lamps from Pottery Barn!

But the best part came last week and I feel like they really pulled the room together!

The blinds were installed!

I think they really made a big different adding some texture.

This little nugget loved everything:)

And there you have it!  Would you believe he makes his bed everyday?  At least all the times I was there!
Not the dog but the son...hahaha

Whats up with y'all?  Kids back to school?  Vacations over?  Ready for fall....

Have y'all watched The Bear on Hulu?  So good.

Alrighty then....

A LITTLE BEFORE AND AFTER

Hello friends......

I writing this from Nantucket.  I came up here to help celebrate my neighbors husbands 60th birthday.  Any excuse to come back up here right!

Of course if you saw my Instagram post on Wednesday you know that as I was in line for security I realized that I had forgotten my wallet at home and had to Uber back [30 min] get my wallet and Uber back to the airport another 30 min.  I wasn't sure I was going to make it but by some miracle I did.

I decided not to stress and I just said to myself if I make it....great and if I didn't then it would not be the end of the world.

I guess it was in the cards for me to be here.

The first night I was here I slept almost 12 hours.  That was pretty cool.....

Anyway I am going to share a bedroom that got installed a few weeks back.  It is not finished yet but its seen quite the transformation since they moved in....

The beginning....let's quickly take a look at the before.....

There was a textured wallpaper on the walls that had to be removed.

The next step was moving this bed in that was in an apartment up in Philadelphia that she acquired.

The Schumacher wallpaper went up and as you can see we barely had room for end tables but I managed to find these that are about 18" wide!

The next phase were the custom window treatments and pillows.

This is a before picture of the window area across from the bed.

And these are 2 chairs that she also inherited!

It has been years since I have done a cornice and I am loving it!

Of course it is not accessorized yet but it will be soon.....

I have picked out some pretty lamps and then I need a few trinkets to bring it all together....

So there you have it.  Honestly work is a pretty good distraction for me but my brain is definitely not a full capacity.  I am easily distracted and find that I am procrastinating on things that I need to be doing.

Ugh.

I heard a simple saying the other day.  Time takes time.  Duh right!  I mean it is so simple.

Hope you guys all have a great weekend....

Thanks so much for reading and hanging in there with me.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Well how the heck are ya?

Yup it's been a while and I feel shame that I am neglecting you guys but I am not giving up and I'm determined to get back on schedule!

Friday I had an install in a home office space.  I worked on this renovation all last winter and we have slowly been working our way through designing the rooms!  They are dream clients....so trusting what I do and the process.

Here is where we left off after the renovation was done and before they moved in.....

This is the before....after they moved in.  I had some work to do.....but I knew I could bring this space to life as it had good bones!  So.....I got to shopping which is the fun part.

Well kind of....I mean after 2 or three days I can hardly remember what I've bought and my living room looks like a retail store:)

These are some of the things I bought so we set it up like a store!!

I have said this before but it is all about the layering.  Plus I needed to work with what was there.  Now I am not a fan of "semi-attached" back cushions for the very reason you see above.  You can't flip them or have them re-stuffed.  But....I had an idea on how to help that situation out!

One of the things I wanted to do was layer a rug over the  bottom rug to add coziness.

I lucked out and found this vintage Oushak which happened to be a perfect match! In my opinion it was a game changer for the room.....

Before.....

                            After......

We used his law books to fill many of the shelves.....we left the stickers on for their kids to take off!

And you can see I tucked in a throw to cover the back cushion!

I lucked out finding the console that fit perfectly in the space between the bookshelves!
I found the floor lamp at Pottery Barn.

We worked around the existing art of the Atlanta skyline.

Before......

I love the vintage notary stamp I found while scouting around for some patina.....

Another trick is to use some baskets to add texture.  Too many books or accessories can look messy!

All in all it was a hit and nothing makes me happier than to see my clients happy!

I am so happy to be able to share some design with y'all.....believe it or not I have been busy but sometimes it takes a while to get to this point in a project!

13 days until I take off for Nantucket!  I am pretty pumped to take a little break.  My neighbor likes it because she will get to boss me a round and nothing makes her happier:)

Camilita is lying beside me with the death stare as she is ready for her walk so let me run!

Be back soon!

BEFORE AND AFTER

Every time we get to Friday I am amazed at how fast time moves!  Part of the problem lately is that I want time to hurry so we can leave this pandemic behind.  I want things to be back to normal.....but I know we have a long haul for that.

Time just moves at it's own pace no matter what I want:)

Thanks for the feedback on my sisters kitchen.  I tweaked it a little.....Just by adding the sconces on either side of the hood!

Also the possible countertops are a quartzite and a quartz that resembles soapstone.  I need to see the stone in person because I want to make sure that there is no green in it.  And....depending on price I may take the countertop up as the backsplash....I am all over the place on this one.....can you tell?

Also answering a few questions....most of the Christmas decor for the farm came from Homegoods.  I just went in there and filled up a cart!

Today just a little update for you on a project I have been working on for 2 years!

Here is the before....I have showed you some of these before.....but now you get to see the finished product!

This belonged to her Mom.  It's an incredible piece and would fit perfectly in her living room....but of course it needed a little makeover.

I went down to the place to pick the colors....which was scary because it was not cheap to have this done and I could not make any mistakes.  #pressure

When I got there it looked great but just needed a little patine so we decided on a chocolate glaze with a little silver rubbed onto the trim....

I was breathed a sigh of relief when it was delivered......

I  just stuck a picture in there:)

I think it makes the room!!

The fun part is accessorizing!

In the same house we also found a rug for a small bathroom...

A pretty kitchen runner....

And hung a mirror in the master bedroom entry!

Since I know you guys will ask...the colors we used were BM  Ice Formations and Van Courtland Blue.

21 days until Christmas.....who feels less stressed than they have in previous years?  I do....no parties....and no deadlines since no one I know is having any festivities!

I guess all of my holiday outfits will have to wait until next year:)

Y'all have a great weekend and if I don't say it enough thanks for reading and staying with me......I realize that blogging is kind of "so 2015" but I guess I didn't get the memo...haha.
