ANYBODY THERE?????

 Well....well....look who's back:)

I have no good reason for dropping off except that one month became two months...and so on....

It's Sunday and I should be working...that is probably why I stopped blogging I guess.  I have 4 renovations going on and Lord...those are a lot of work!  Should be getting to the good parts soon but I feel like I have not had much good interior design to show you....hense maybe I could use that excuse!

I think if you follow me on Instagram that this will be old news!  I am updating a cute lake house here in Georgia up on Lake Oconee.  

Very excited about this one....I had 4 bathrooms to up date and quite a few spaces......

Below is the hallway that already has 1/2 paneling up the walls....so I proposed some neutral wallpaper and a pretty blue/green color below. 

Right off the hallway is a laundry room.  I suggested wallpaper on the ceiling and then painting the walls and cabinets a little bit darker.....

Walking into the front door there is quite a sizable entry with the same 1/2 wall of paneling....

I am thinking the darker color but painting the window and ceiling trim the pretty light blue/green....

She has this Ballard sofa so that will get re-upholstered with some pretty pillows....

I still have a mud room, bedroom, family room, and basement to pull together!  Now you see why I should be working!

We ordered all the vanities online because we want this to done quickly!

The vanity is from Kohler, the sconces are from Visual Comfort.  

Y'all I hope everyone is getting ready to have a great summer...I will be in the weeds so maybe I can do something fun in the fall :)

BEFORE AND AFTER POWDER BATHROOM

Somebody emailed me to say she missed my blog.....I miss it also.

So I need a wife to do all the things that take up my time now so I can get back to what is important:)

I have had a few small installs and one of them was this powder room....

Yes...she was a tad bit dull...just your basic builder grade bathroom.  I was excited to make this room special....

Here is my board after I decided what the heck I was gonna do!

Let's talk about the good parts of this room:

1.  I did not really have to undo anything....as it was pretty much a blank slate!

2.  The paneling was already there which I was really happy about!

I had been looking at these Josephine Munsey wallpapers and fell in love.  This one seemed perfect as it had a neutral background and after looking at some colors I decided on SW Analytical Gray to use as the color for the vanity and the paneling.

In the beginning I was almost thinking to change the  countertop and possibly faucet but after some thought I knew I could make a bigger impact adding other things to the space. 

The paneling was painted and the light fixture went up and I knew she was going to be a stunner.  If you have tall ceilings this fixture from Visual Comfort is wonderful!  It comes in a single, double and tripple and I have used it quite a few times.....

I also ordered one of my favorite mirrors from Currey and Co which I knew would be good because it has silver tones and would go nicely with the faucet.....I don't think all the metals need to match!

I picked up the small watercolors from Vickie Sides at Scott's Antique Market before I even started the project cause they were so pretty and then "bam" they were perfect!

I scored the frames while I was thrifting....remember there needs to be something old in every space to give it life!  In my opinion....

I could not be more in love with the outcome.  I rarely use a colored mat but I am so glad I went out of my comfort zone!

Here you can see that the mirror has an antique feel to it!

The towel ring is from Kohler and the larger towel is from Target!

Of course where do we get all of out soap pumps....Homegoods!

If you know me then you know I love some texture so I got the kleenex box from Target

And there you have it!  

Powder rooms are my jam and I love to give them a refresh!  Almost everyone see this space.....

BEFORE AND AFTER POWDER BATH

I can't believe how much better I feel since I got a little sunshine!  Even though it was really cold last weekend....that was fine by me!

Let me say....dealing with the home building side of design is a lot of work.  As I said before practically every project I am working on right now is coming out of the ground.  I know many of you realize all the  details that have to be decided....because most of those need to be made before the drywall.  Plumbing, lighting.....and walls!

I have 6 of these bad boys going on at the same time.  Can you say overload:)

Meanwhile I also worked on this powder room for my neighbor.

Here is the before....well not quite.  I can't find the picture of it with wallpaper but it was red and the space was very dark.  Which in itself is not a bad thing in a powder room.....but it is important to have good lighting which this space did not.

What I want you to notice is how close to the toilet the custom vanity was.  That is why the legs were designed that way.....so you wouldn't hit them when you sat down.

Here is the deal....yes the vanity was centered on the wall but it just wasn't functional.

So....I said let's ditch the whole shebang.  And they agreed.  And....instead of spending a gob of money on another custom sink [which we definitely kicked around for a while] I suggested a plain old pedestal sink. 


With some WOW wallpaper.

Bye Bye sink.  And....let's just move that bad boy over to the right 6".  Of course that meant moving the plumbing and lighting but for real it will be so much more practical.

We all agreed.

We went with the teal color of this Channels wallpaper because that is a color featured throughout the main floor of her house.

We used the Kohler Memoire sink and the Kohler Purist faucet.  The lights are Circa Lighting.

We set out looking for art.  Now let me tell you....that was actually the hard part.  She is an art historian.  Verrrrrrrry Picky.

Then I dragged her up to a flea market that I visit often and to see this grouping.  They are vintage lithographs in original frames.

She finally agreed right before I slapped her.

Whew.

Her kitty approved.

We saved back one to hang really low over this sweet little table I found to put a candle and vase on....

Next up rug.  I wanted something that was colorful.

 Took about six of them home to audition.

We went with this one....

The last picture will hang above the table at eye level when you are sitting on the "throne"....haha

There is one problem.....No room for a toilet paper holder.  I'm stumped.....stay tuned.

And the cute table came....so of course now I need to accessorize adding a cute towel bar.....etc.  I realize I do not have a full picture of the mirror.  We found it at Foxgloves on Miami circle.  It is a vintage gold shield mirror.

So....I have to get a final picture after it'a all purdy!

Alrighty then.  

Coming Thursday is a Spring Fashion post with some of my favorite "over 50" bloggers.  I am the oldest so I will be trying to look like a 16 year old just to prove I have no taste at all:)

***Deanna.... yes the ceilings are painted the same as the walls....when there are so many angles in a space I always do that to give it a seamless look!

BOULDER BATHROOM UPDATE

Well it's that time of year when no one is reading blogs but the I'm still going to crank out a meager attempt of a before and after.....except when you get to the end and you are waiting for the big reveal....it might leave you scratching your head.

What I mean is it's not quite finished but that is because it is out in Boulder and I can't just scoot over and get a few quick shots.

Here is where we started....I think you will remember this one [you can read about the plan here and here ].

I know we were all in agreement that this was not a bad bathroom and with maybe a new light fixture it and some magic zhushing she could be purdy.

So I put together a plan right here in Atlanta that Greg would implement in Boulder for me!  He's talented like that:)

Starting with the floors.....

That large hex tile is so pretty in person trust me!

The shower got a new look with the blue gray subway tile.

We had to tweak the counter top selection....but then the Thibaut wallpaper went up and everyone agreed it might be the star of the show!

I selected the Kohler Purist faucet in black.

And these beautiful Circa Lighting sconces....

These hammered cabinet knobs...

And here is where the story takes a dive....this is the most recent shot.

The vanity had just been painted so it looks a little green but actually it's a dark gray.

I turned the lights off so you could get a better idea of the cabinet color.  

It's sad..... not to see it all ready for it's closeup but that is the problem with long distance decorating right?

We need the mirror and a cool rug at the very least!  I'm working one it.....

Sunday I went to my friends house for our annual "secret santa" lunch.  Her table was beautiful....

We had a try on session with her new coat which was so pretty!

I wore my plaid J Crew shirt with an animal scarf which was a hit!  My shoes were Naturalizer and they are so comfy!

I'm off to Bach Fitness and today is leg day....ugh.

Thanks to everyone who gave me some good suggestions for what to watch next.  After this week of the "before Christmas craziness" I plan on relaxing next week and maybe do some binge watching!
