THREE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS TO FOLLOW

I'm not sure if anyone is reading blogs anymore....but they sure as heck are addicted to Instagram....because it's where all the beautiful people live....hahaha

Look....I'm guilty also.  Trying to put my best foot forward lest someone thinks my house is dirty or that I leave the house NOT dressed in my #OOTD [outfit of the day] right?

BUT.....I do like Insta for the pretty pictures and today I will share a couple of people that I follow to gather inspiration....could it be better than Pinterest? Maybe.....

Let's start with Lisa and Wayne Woods.  Found on Instagram here

I saw this image and about choked on my coffee.

This tile!  Well....I love the whole bathroom!

They rehab houses in Phoenix....this little gem is an Air bnb and I want to go out there just to stay here!

In love with this kitchen.....

This bathroom.....yes please

And...they are moving to Ohio so I expect to see some great renovations happening there....

OK....next is Emily Vanderputten [on Instagram] who is a One Room Challenge pal!

She has started hand blocking fabrics and that is a weakness of mine:)  I pulled these images from Instagram.

I mean these patterns.....

Are you smitten?

And last is another One Room Challenge pal....
Stephanie Kraus.  I love her aesthetic....girl can do color or neutrals.

So I saw this recent project on Instagram and fell hard!

And this kitchen

All black and white goodness.

Then there is this project that had me dribbling wine down my chin....

Do we love her?  Find her whole portfolio here

This is just three out of over 1600 that I follow and I can tell you I find so much inspiration out there.

What are your thoughts?  Do you find more on Pinterest or Instagram?

In other news we have booked our trip to Morocco for the end of February and I'm scared.  Mama does not like to break her routine and a long plane ride over the pond isn't really my cup of tea so look forward to lot's of complaining in the coming weeks....

First I love starting my morning with a DI post, your witty banter alway makes me chuckle.
Second I love Stephanie Kraus, found her during the ORC, my Pinterest boards have many of her Instagram photos. Which brings me to your question. Pinterest was amazing when I was first “invited” to join 8 years ago. My feed was full of pictures from people I followed and I pinned away curating boards of things I loved, design, clothes and food. I have to admit my monthly magazine expense dropped dramatically and my binder of photos cut and saved was abandoned. As the years went on though algorithms became involved, sponsored pins popped up everywhere and my feed totally changed. I rarely saw pins from people I followed and heaven forbid if I pinned a recipe my feed would turn into a cookbook. I then found Instagram and was once again in heaven. I now pin all my design photos from Instagram and use Pinterest as my digital binder and online cookbook...if you can’t beat them, you may as well join them.
Enjoy your weekend!

I do enjoy Instagram, but nothing compare to READING a blog ! Blogs are so much more interesting because of the 'conversation' ! You can learn a lot more from blogs than you can from Instagram..... I hear you about traveling far, I am always nervous and ask myself if it's worth all the worry and trouble, but it always is. Once you get there, you'll be so glad you did it !

I may be the only person on the planet that doesn't follow Instagram. I follow about eight blogs (including Design Indulgence). Some are designers, and others are homeowner DIYers. The bloggers I follow show photos of rooms from different angles with the blogger's narrative of their successes, failures, tips, resource links and emotions! Don't stress out too much about your trip. Think of all the beautiful Moroccan designs you are going to experience and share with us! Keep on blogging Shay Girl!

I love finding new talents to follow on IG, thanks for the tips. I watched "House Hunters International" last night and a couple from Dallas moved to Morocco. It will be such a fun trip and so much inspiration! Take a chill pill and have a great trip.

Hello! I find myself spending more time in IG as it is so easy to take it and leave as needed. I do enjoy reading blogs but I feel it happens when I know I have time to intentionally sit and read..
So exciting about Morocco!! Where are you going? We stayed in Fez for a week in a beautiful Riad and traveled around from there. I have 3 kids and I wanted them to have some sort of ‘base’. The Riad was small and cozy. The kids loved just watching tv at night and they would come down when they smelled the food. I wrote a blog post about it actually! So just try to relax and enjoy the ride. It’s going to be amazing anywhere you go!
