WATERLOGUE APP

Did you love the halftime show like I did?  I think Bruno and the Red Hot Chili Peppers were of course better than the actual game.  What a smile that kid has huh?

I wanted to share a new app that is taking over on Instagram!  It is called Waterlogue.

Sad to say it is only available on Mac products right now but dang it is so addicting.

It takes a picture and turns it into a water color.

Here is the image before

And after....
Are
You
Kidding
Me?
Again....

Before

After

It is just unbelievable right....not convinced?

After

Before

OK....

Before

After

I think you get the point.

Crack app.

On the car front....no decisions made.  Have not even test driven one.  I wasn't kidding when I said it is paralyzing to us [me].  About 7 years ago we did have another car [along with the 2 Fords] ....an Altima.   Came out one morning and it was totaled.

Since we only have a single driveway one of us always has to park on the street.  "Somebody" said they dropped their phone and when they bent down to pick it up.... hit it.  I think "somebody" might have had a late night at the bar.

Anyway....after we got the insurance money we started looking for a replacement.  We narrowed it down.

Me: So this is the price right?  We agree?
Salesman:  Yes ma'am.

Go in to sit down and wait for paperwork.

Me:  What is this $688.00 for?
Salesman:  Well...those fees are for filling up the car with gas, washing it....etc.
Me: Don't fill it. I'll push that sucker off the lot.  Don't wash it I like dirty cars.
Salesman:  Well ma'am I can't take that off.

I look at my husband who is sitting there [he is way to polite to do the negotiating] "Come on....we are out of here".

He just sits there staring at me.  He can not believe that after 2 hours of driving it....negotiating the price we are walking out over $688.00.

Yes we are.

Principal.

I did not like his bad suit and smirky face anyway.

We never bought one.  Here we are today.

There you have it....proof of why we are stuck.

Love that app! I totally understand your apprehension over buying a car! We just bought one a year ago & had a crazy experience. My best advice would be to get your price quotes from the online salesmen. They seem to be more honest & the process is so much less stressful! Also, don't finance through the dealership. It's just another way they try to cheat you! Good luck!

Wow, glad my hubby does the negotiating plus he is a banker and you aren't pulling one over on him. Never heard of a fee for the gas and washing. They didn't wash the last two we got anyway. You kind of just sign get in and go. They used to detail them.

Love, love, love that beautiful app...to bad I don't have the right stuff or the know how to use it, I'd be in so much trouble. Love your car dealer walk...I'm with ya ShaBigShot!

I love that app too. So fun to see the photos transform in front of your eyes.
We just bought a new Highlander this weekend. There iare few things I hate more than that negotiating business. Ugh. But I do love my new car smell.

I think I have to hold off on getting that app until I have a day with time to kill because it looks as addicting as Good & Plenty. I'm with you on the car stuff. Mine has 160,000 miles but I hate spending money on a new car, hate car dealers, and just hate the whole process so I've been procrastinating about getting a new one. Can you just figure out the best one for me? :)

Just get a Toyota Rav 4. Back seats super roomy. AND lots or room in the rear for hauling stuff. I've had mine almost a year now and I am happy with it. (I also prefer to keep cars for many, many years)

OH Sherry! LOVE THAT APP!!! I can't wait to 'play' for a while with it. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

1. I love Bruno Mars, and totally agree he was way better than the game. Could've lived without the aging, shirtless Chili Peppers.

2. I'm getting ready to turn every photo I own into a watercolor.

3. He must've been planning on putting a lot of gas in that car for $688. I would've walked, too.

The 1/2 time show was great, but the game was phenomenal! You know nothing about football if you think the game was not that great :)
the app is fabulous.

We did the same thing when we purchased a vehicle in 2000 (yes we still drive it). I did a plethora of internet research, we test drove a different car (same make - VW). The one dealer didn't have the car we wanted but they gave us a price if they were to acquire one. We went to another dealer and they had the car. They started to do the back and forth crap "let me go talk to my manager" - the first time he came back I said, "we're not going to sit here while you do this song and dance. We've been quoted $X and that is what we will pay - not a penny more. Get a yes from your manager now or we are out of here." We got the car with the options we wanted and at the price we wanted. An educated consumer is "dangerous" to these nickel and dime you to death dealerships! Good luck!!

Love Waterlogue too! So fun!

I HATE buying cars. It's like they intentionally wear you down to your breaking point and if my husband starts to get hungry, forget it...he'll pay anything.

Loving that app. I would make wallpaper with it.

Anyway...glad you walked out. YOU ARE A SOLDIER.

Haha! I'm glad you stuck to your guns, what a rip! Hopefully you'll find a replacement soon :) and that app...holy cow! I'm totally obsessed too! I want to Waterlogue everything!! Boy, that didn't sound as good as it did in my head. Lol

I am soooooo addicted to waterlogue too and I paint for living!

I pay $9 to get my car washed that's $679 worth of gas. Was his ugly suit on there too? Crazy! You were right to walk.

Lisa @ Shine Your Light said...

I am dying to get into Waterlogue! I've seen it on Instagram and am envisioning all sorts of new "art" in my house already. Don't you hate the whole negotiation process? You are good to walk out. I'm sure most people are so exhausted at that point they just sign on the dotted line. Don't they know who you are????????? Jeesh.

Hands down, the most amazing thing I've seen in an app! Dying over here. I am downloading it now and will be showing it to a client tomorrow during a consult. We are in need of some great artwork! LOVE this. PS: We just got a great deal on a car from a broker in Montgomery, if you need a name. It's used, but low miles and looks great. I'm happy to share the info. Very satisfied. M.

I love everything about this post.
First, that app is amazing. I just did a post on a water color find from an antique store. Water colors are my weakness. How awesome would it be to do this to pictures of a home you about to sell? Frame them and then you have gorgeous pictures to remember the old place!
Second, I LOVE that you walked away from the car. I loathe buying cars and the extra fees are ridiculous. Also, having been in sales, that sales guy was an idiot. Losing the sale over $680 in fees- ridiculous!!!

I'm with you. That app is addictive. Love it!!!

My husband & I hate the "closer". When you have a deal (or think you do) and then they take you into the office and try to add all these extra charges, it drives us crazy. My husband has no problem just walking out the door. Good on you!

good for you for walking out! I think car buying is right up there with shopping for a bathing suit. ugh. you rock! stay strong!

Love that app, and I'm totally with you on the car shizz...I'd have walked too. Much to my husband's bewilderment!

Cheers to you for walking away! Car salesmen are known as slimy for a reason.

That is such a cool app! Guess I can't use it though. No Mac products at my house. I DETEST car shopping! I leave it completely up to my husband. He knows what I like and finds me a car to test drive. I drive it and let him know what I think. I go home, and then he handles it all for me without me there. I can't stand dealing with car sales people. They seem sneaky to me. I just got a new Ford Escape last summer and LOVE it! Good luck with your car search.

My car needed replaced so bad, 200K (Lexus) and my husband nor I wanted to deal with it, so we let our 15 year old find our new car! He's so detailed and into technology he found us the best deal in NY (we're in Denver) and had it shipped. We LOVE it! Our neighbors were so impressed with the deal they bought one from the same dealership! Crazy, huh? :)

Oh Sherry, I would have left with you...isn't it the worst process. I love this app...so amazing how the images look - can totally see myself obsessed with this one, so I think I may wait just a little while to learn how to use it!!

I stayed up half the night playing with my photos on Waterlogue in part because I saw how beautiful your interiors looked in watercolor. They remind me of those lovely watercolors from James Steinmeyer. I am a long time reader who loves your blog and never comments. So glad to hear your talents were recognized and you are getting published (again)! Maybe we will cross paths at Scott's one day soon. XO Allison

You go Shari! I have got to download that app...I am afraid it might be as addicting as Pinterest!

Lots of talk about this app on FB, Your images DO look like a watercolor and are frame worthy. Love it, must be the great use of the black and white!! I am so with you on the car deal, not right. The best dealings we ever had was at the infinity lot, no negotiating the price is the price and they are courteous and treat you like a human not the next victim, LOL,
xo Kathysue

Good for you Sherry! Thats rule #1 for car buying...gotta be able to walk away! Proud of you.

Kudos for nixing and walking away from the dealer! Had similar experience with dealer three years ago whereby warranty for new car was $60.oo month add on. If your product is as superior as you claim, why is a warranty needed on a new car? Finally talked manager down to $20.00 monthly but two years later find out just how little that feature covers despite all their hype. Time for consumers to SHUN these practices. And BTW, don't all cars leave the factory clean? Agree with the previous comment that I will fill the car with gas and not willing or stupid enough to pay the other $600.00!

Love that app...I dont have a mac so I'm going to have to see what else is available.
I agree...688.00 to wash the car! Shoot that is terrible! We bought a dishwasher and found out that we have to get a permit to put it in and the city has to inspect it! Can you believe it!

Cool app! Can you even believe what iphones can do these days.. it's crazy!
Got to go catch up and read the "car" story!

Looks like I am alone in this. I LOVE negotiating for cars. Both times, I was offered a job. The key is, it takes hours and you must be willing to walk away. It is the only way to find out where the bottom is. You start like this, "OK, Boys...get your crayons we are going to play let's make a deal. You may want to get your Manager and your Manager's Manager". I love this stuff.
