CHRISTMAS 2013

I finally got some motivation on Saturday to do a little Christmas decorating.   It was a cold and rainy day so it seemed like a plan.

The thing about doing it though is that you have to find a place to put the things you are taking away right?  Well that to some cleaning out of cabinets….which makes the whole process take longer.

What should have taken 3-4 hours took almost 8 hours.  Can you see why I was procrastinating?

Anyway….blah….blah.

I just tweaked a few things on the mantel.

Moved some pillows around just for this picture.  Shocking right?

I picked up these paperwhites from Trader Joes and added some black ribbon.

The black lanterns are from HomeGoods.  Since I wasn't tired of my winter mantel I just added some flowers to the old bottles and a little greenery.

This is always an easy area to style up….

I picked up the white mould at Scott's for a few bucks and added some oranges for color.

Not much here but some green ornaments on an old tarnished silver tray.

I know what you are thinking….this took 8 hours?

Hee Haw.  Nah….I did more in other rooms but gotta go.

9 shopping days left:)

Shacraycray…..

If you post something in the morning and I happen to see it on FB I end up running here and getting distracted vs getting in gear to paint! This is a seriously distracting blog post not only because it is drop dead gorgeous but also so unique. Love love love... the black & white theme, the natural wood and your bottles are just breathtaking. I love the paper whites and the all of the evergreens that were placed as if the fell there. Now to Pin some of this and get even more distracted on Pinterest! Thanks Sherry Hart! I had major deadlines today!!!

I love the black, white and green. I hate having to put stuff away, too. My laundry room is full.

Yummy! Just some simple additions (well maybe not so simple since everything had to be moved and stored) make the space feel festive, yet understated! Love it and can't wait to see the rest!

I bow down to thee. So many ideas to steal, err borrow. I know all about a 3 hr switcheroo that takes 8 hrs. Styling one shelf leads to organizing an entire avalanche closet just to find my damn mind or that sheet of moss I know I have jammed in there somewhere. Your switcheroo is aces, as always.

What are white moulds and intaglios that you buy at Scott's?

What are white moulds and intaglios that you buy at Scott's? You mentioned them in your Before and After and one of your Christmas blogs (Dec. 2013) By the way, every thing is gorgeous. I'm down sizing and getting rid of most of our old Christmas decorations and holding onto what's precious. Thanks for the inspiration and showing me how to display them in such a special way! And pairing items that you have on display daily with greenery that you can get for free is genius! And no need for storage space....brilliant!!!!!Thanks!!!!!
