A DINING ROOM PLAN

I know you guys remember this room that I completed about 2 years ago.

Well....she gave me a call to come and do her DR and office.

I am not going to show you the before ....because it's definitely more impact to be able to compare.

But.....I am going to show you some of the plan.

We wanted to lighten it up and of course since I am a "pusher" I decided to show her some wallpapers.

Hands down this was her favorite right from the get go.

It's by Harlequin and it has the soft blue green colors that she likes so much.

We are going to keep her existing table and chairs but add some 2 upholstered pieces for softness.

This one by Charles Stewart.

In this fabric by Kravet.

But then we thought since stripe can be kind of straight laced sometimes.... we decided to do the same version with a skirt.

The curtains will be this gorgeous silk taffeta [Robert Allen] with a small beaded trim

I looked at rugs from Surya....trying to find one with a pattern.  Much more forgiving to stains [she has 3 kids]

Now we get to chandeliers.....
I love this classic bronze one from Circa Lighting...

And I ran across this one but now I can't remember where.....rats.

That is as far as we have gotten....

Looking forward to getting this baby up and running:)

Now about Camelot....Cami!

Lord I forgot what it was like to have a younger dog in the house.  Busy....busy.....

The "hand-off" went so much better than expected.  The first night in the hotel [Gainesville, Florida] was a little crazy....but in reality the first night at our house was crazy times 10.

She tricked me with that sweet face.

My husband and I kept looking at each other like "wtf have we done?"  She.....brought out 4 pair of shoes from the closet [those doors are now kept closed], a pair of pajamas, ate a peony, dragged into the den 6 throws, 2 Ikea sheepskins, a stick from outside, took a couple of bites off a plant, started in on a Flokati rug....[that got a big NO] and is now pulled up as are all of the throws. That was only in a few hours.

Whew...and after being walked about 3.5 miles!

It is day 5 and she is doing a little better....I am trying to wean her off the drugs that her Mom had her on.  Paxil and Clonidine [for anxiety].  Walking her up to 4 times a day.  I just want to see what she is like in her "raw" state so I can access. I realize she is a puppy [17 months old].  Energy is to be expected right?

I just had to put this post on hold while I ran her around the block....she came in jumped up on the bed and threw up so now the sheets are being washed.

I have a feeling it is going to be a long summer.

Hope you guys have a nice calm weekend:)

Love the dining room plan Sherry...and repeat clients are of course the BOMB :) When you said blue/green in that wallpaper photo I didn't see it at first, but then I could see it in the collage of the plan - spot on. And the rug of course will be fabulous. Your Cami is adorable!

Congrats on the return client project- those are the best now that they have complete confidence in you! Now about CAMI- she is absolutely the cutest! Yes, the pup stage is rough and my Gibbs is now 2 and the puppy antics are slowing down, although he is really into his toys and stuffed animals( with the insides pulled out, of course). I feel that alone kept him from chewing and ruining our other stuff. Best of luck and hugs to you and Cami for rescuing her and giving her the best home! xo Nancy

Love the colors in the design plan. And lololol to the rest of the post. I'd be ready to put her into the puppy relocation program, so you are a saint! Hang in there!

That dining room is going to be stunning..love the pleated skirt and my vote is for the circa chandelier. Now on to the puppy...I thought I was going to hang myself when Beau was a puppy. We took up all the rugs closed every door in the house...the good news is 4 years later he is still a puppy...we did put the rugs back down though...did I make you feel better?!!

Oh she is darling! We tried a thunder vest for our westie. It works like magic. Not sure if they are available in super sizes though! Lol.

Love the softness of the colors, so pretty, and that last chandelier is beautiful. Your sweet looking pup sounds like she is a busy little bee. You will teach her the tricks of living with Sherry in not time. She is a love, her face is just precious. I am so happy that you found a new fur baby to love.

First off, the dining room plan is beautiful. But I mainly wanted to say that Cami is adorable and good luck! I'm sure she'll settle down, and long walks are good for everyone, right? Our first dog, Sprocket, was anxious and ate (not exaggerating) a sofa and chair along with 6 comforters before he settled down at the ripe age of 7. We still miss him. Again, good luck and she's a cutie!

Camelot and Finny MUST be related! The dragging and chewing is obsessive here... and he's almost 3! Love that you all found each other.

I am doing the linear version of that Visual comfort chandelier in my kitchen so I love it! The rooms will be lovely1 As far as Cami, I too have a neurotic rescue who for a year dug her way to China in my yard she is 3 now and such a nice girl I worked really hard with her though and there were times I actually weeped! You have a herding dog they are smart and need a job if you put a back pack on her when you walk she may feel like she is doing a chore or find a little task for her. It will all work out!! Good luck! K

Sherry this puppy update had me laughing out loud! After she does something naughty does she look at you with that face and you just die?? Because I don't know if I could ever properly train her with that cute mug!! She is in good hands with you - just think of your last two and how you trained them!!

When my daughter adopted an 18 month old shorkie from the shelter she was his 4th owner. That's right, FOURTH. Talk about being a foster child. We went to the shelter and my first comment was how cute he was to which the shelter doctor said "get over the cuteness". It's now 5 years since he's been with her and we still can't get over the cuteness and love him even though he was the biggest pain in the ass. It took time and patience.

Sherry, the first space you did for her is one of my favorites in all of blogland. It is perfection.
I'm sure Cami will calm down...that is typical puppy stuff on top of a major upheaval (plus drugs?) it will just take a little time. (Easy for me to say, right?😜)
She is so lucky to have you!

Yes the rigors of a puppy are exhausting but oh, the rewards of walking in the door to those dances of joy and kisses. Thanks for getting her off the meds. WTF was that woman thinking? Your love and humor will bring her through. Slobber kisses!

Crate train your dog. It is soothing to your doggy and they love it when ever they feel out of sorts or need quiet time. Trust me, it works. My dog is three and he loves his crate. We travel with it and he heads right to it in our home when he is nervous of visitors or the household parties get too loud! He really loves it in hotels!

Oh my god, I remember the puppy days when we had our black lab, Lucy. One time she ate a bath towel and my husband had to pull it out from the rear.

I love Cami already and I'm so glad you are weening her off the meds so you can assess for yourself her needs. I'm sure she will calm down with love, attention and lots of exercise! The dining is going to be beautiful and I hope you remember where you saw that second chandelier - gorgeous!

Haha! Oh boy,... Cami sounds like a handful right now. We recently adopted a cat and I swear i think she has ADHD. I had forgotten what happens when you bring a young animal in the house, not to mention one who can't sit still. The destructive force is hard to even believe. We're settling in more now, as I'm sure you guys will... in time...
The room already looks amazing just from the inspiration board. Can't wait to see the before and afters!

Can a dining room be darling? This one is going to be! Another reader provided the link to the Cleo chandelier. Easy to do: Right click while cursor hovers over image, then choose "search google for this image" and voila! I'm cuckoo over the bronze chandelier—classic, yet fun!

Oh, sounds shecrazy at your house. Check out this video on music that settles dogs down. Might be worth a try(watch the short video!): http://rescueanimalmp3.org/

Good luck with Cami!

P.S. If you have need, I can e-mail a couple of other sites where I've found valuable articles & natural remedies. No, I'm not affiliated with any of them. Just a wary consumer for my people & pets.

This dining room is going to be gorgeous! I've had my eyes on one of those Surya rugs. Anxious to hear what you think. Love that pic of you & Cami!

Sherold - I just love what you did to help Cami find a loving home. It's so hard when they drive you nuts though! That happened when we brought Winston home (the beagle). Whew... there were so many doubtful moments. We tried anti-anxiety and as they'll tell you - sometimes the have the opposite effect. Talk about baying and screaming for hours! Oh man. So that didnt work. But after baout 6 months (yes, sadly) he finally just calmed down and knew he was here to stay. The crating was the worst. He'd scream, stuffed PB kong or not. But something just clicked, like he knew we wouldnt give up and now it's much better. I wish you guys so much luck! PS - rescue remedy (herbal supplement you can find at whole foods, feed by dropper in mouth) is the best thing in my life! you may wanna have some on hand.
