ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 2

Here we are week 2 of the ORC!  Dang it.... in true "Sherika" form I'm all over the place with some of my plans for the room.

Reign it in girl:)

Let's start with the floor plan.

Already changed.... no room for a table behind the sofa....think "table city".   I'm now planning on just using 2 floor lamps instead.  Gotta be flexible:)

I was a little nervous about the Pottery Barn sectional because it was so deep.  I had specked a  Lee Industries one [that was smaller] but Maggie really wanted a slipcover so we pulled the trigger.

Here is the one we ordered:
With the Washed Grainsack in Flax [grade B] slipcover.

If you look at the floor plan I needed to make sure there was plenty of room [4 ft] for me to add 2 chairs against the wall with the TV [newly located].

I've had these Mitchell Gold [similar] chairs in storage at my upholster for at least 10 years!

They are the perfect width to fit on either side of the TV console.

Now  we discuss fabric.

The plans....yes plural cause we I couldn't decide.

# one

I loved this one.....I have been pushing this wallpaper forever....

# two

This one won out.....

# three

I threw this one in after she already decided but she held firm.....

Then....

I changed the whole game.  Yup...
Mainly because we decided on no wallpaper and I had a bunch of the Latika fabric !

And...then we added it back in.

The grasscloth.

The wallpaper is taking a big chunk out of the budget but she was obsessed and wouldn't let it go.

Clearly we are related:)

Off to a local fabric outlet store and found this quilted fabric for the chairs.

And to Lewis & Sheron fabrics for this trim to go around the bottom with nail heads spaced out about an inch apart.

So next week more progress and plans for this area.

It's coming together....things are happening.

Come back next Wednesday for more decisions made:)

And....take some time to read what all of the other talented designers got accomplished last week!

Dear you hear me say "oh god I love that" to every image, lol? Yup. Said that out loud in my house by myself. I am dying that she agreed to the grass because it is putting this right over the top.

I'm with Carol. Each option is bananas good. I was pulling for your fav in wallpaper form but the grasscloth will also be super gorgeous. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't decided on a damn thing yet.

In option #2 were you able to source the striped fabric from LS fabrics? I have been trying to find it on their website and can't.

Sherry!!! Your room is going to look so clean, open and romantic! (well, that's my observation of it)I love all of the light colors and fabric textures. I also liked your idea about using the lamps vs more tables. Should add to the air feel.

Keep up the great work!

This is going to be a terrific space! I use Lee Industries all the time. They are my go to for slipcovers...best part? Usually less expensive than PB and better made ( North Carolina as opposed to Indonesia or China)
