FABRICS

If you have been reading my blog for a while you know I have been teaching fitness classes for about 30 years.  What started as a whim [I can do that] became a way to force me to stay in shape by having to be there!

Feast on this throwback from 25 years ago....crikey I had on WHITE tights.  I want that waistline back:)

These last few years I have not done weights as often as I should so when a friend asked me to go to a kettle bell class with her I said sure.

I don't know about you but when I take a class for the first time I hang back a little to make sure I can finish....not knowing how darn hard it will be.

I can say that it was challenging  but doable and I liked the format.  Mande and I made plans to do it again Tuesday.

Well I guess I got cocky because yesterdays class was an ass kicking of epic proportion.

I
about
died.

Notice I am dressed in all black.....where are the white tights when I need them huh:)

The class started with carrying  kettle bells a 100 meters down this hill and back.  Whatever possessed me to grab 35lbs....[peer pressure....stupidity or the fact that I was last getting my pick] will remain a mystery.

I won't bore you with details about the rest of the class but let's just say I actually saw heaven a few times [had a small conversation with my grandma].

The soreness is setting in and I will be debilitated for a couple of days.

Can't wait to go back.

Hard to believe I had the energy to go to Lewis and Sheron Fabrics after that fun time but fabric is always like a beacon for me.

I took a hundred million pictures so we will do half today and then finish up on Friday with more pictures and a giveaway.

Let's just get going here.....

Fav.....

Candy shop right?  You say you want more?

How about some great trims....

Pure crack right.  Now listen.....you will have to get in touch with L&S for any details....because my arms were so tired I could not write anything down.

Alrighty then....have a great Wednesday!

Always love a good "Sherry" story. I also need to start lifting weights again. Gorgeous fabrics & trims!

You go girl! And now you have me drooling over fabric and trim, and scheming as to what to redo!

LOL. I started weight training with a personal trainer recently. I thought I was strong from pilates, swimming and various other forms of exercise. Apparently not. My pain usually sets in two days after the work out when I have to go back for more. Love the Jane Fonda look! So many pretty fabrics it's hard to choose a fave.

You kept going because you didn't want to die without one last trip to L&S. Thanks for sharing all the eye candy - love all the Tilton Fenwick mixed in there.

Love the Jane Fonda workout gear. Remember those leg warmers we wore over the tights; good for laugh 30 yrs later.

I am seriously jealous of that fabric store. Here in Canada we have the worse selection in the universe. Lewis & Sharon charge ridiculous $$$'s for samples so I just may need a vacation in Atlanta.

I'm on the floor laughing not at you mind you but because I do the same thing. Sign up for stuff because in my mind I'm stronger thinner and younger than in reality and I look at the girls who are all those things so I will not pick up smaller weights and then I spend the whole class cursing myself out in my mind. At least we are kicking everyone's butt at least those still on the couch. Recently went to a sports nutritionist by the way who said chocolate milk is the best recovery drink for what that's worth. Hope your achy muscles feel better soon.

My neighbor has convinced me to start Crossfit when the kids go back to school. Now I'm really scared!! Love that magnifying glass/garden fabric. I hunted it down after a blogger recovered a chair with it. Not sure where I can use it, but a pic of it is saved on my desktop so I can admire it daily :) Hope your muscles are recovering. You should totally show up in white tights and a headband for the next CF!

Total candy shop! The trims! I love the doily/crochet trims. And that kettle bell story is great - who took the photo to incriminate you anyway? I'm a wimp and always go with the low weights but that is hard core - whew! Great photo to have too - you rocked those tights!

Saw those white tights and I had to click through. That was a great decade, wasn't it? BTW - you still look great. Hope you're having a good summer!

I they are actually Japanese fans, not magnifying glasses. Right Sherry?

Good luck with your new exercise regimen Sherry, for a non-physical person like me, this felt like a Boot camp ! Lol! Love the overdose of fabrics - so many to love so little things to use it on (at least in my house). :-)

I started CrossFit a little over a year ago and felt like I was dying for the first few months!! That said, at age 48 I have washboard abs for the first time EVER. Keep it up; it's fun, empowering, addictive, and might ruin other forms of exercise for you :) Love your blog, love your style!

Sooooo impressed with your fitness!!! I'm working on it, determined to hit fabulous by the end of this 50th year. Long way to go lol. Dying on the fabrics as usual. Happy healing!

Yes, the fabrics are certainly eye candy... but what about the babe in the white tights?! ;) Just like interior design, it is great mixing things up... even an exercise program. Keeps things fun and interesting! Bravo to you, Sherry! For those sore muscles, bath with epsom salts (include candles and glass of wine... wink, wink).

What the heck? You are impressive, for sure. Glad you finished the class. I do not feel the same pressure when I do a class for the first time. I have no shame in stopping and smiling.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You just showed me the exact fabric I have been looking for to have new drapes made. It took a bit of searching on the L&S site, but I found the name and price of one of the fabrics you featured. This just made my night!
