I hated to do it but I had to skip Friday.....I am sure you were all busy "adding to cart" haha.
OK....let me back up. Saturday a week ago I tripped on a curb and fell down. Yup. One "old lady falling" coming up.
Damn y'all I was so mad at myself and I like to blame it on the f#*&ing mask. Note to self....put mask on right before you enter building.
Anyway I messed up my knee....concrete will do that to you....so I have not been able to workout and that my friends is a problem for me. One because it keeps me sane and also because it really helps me sleep.
I keep replaying it in my mind. Crappppppp! [insert a string of cuss words followed by a major scream loudly]
The update is it's a little better and I did go workout yesterday....just gingerly and only doing weights.....but I gotta say it has me a little down in the dumps as they say.
I'm giving it another week and it better be healed or you might read about me in the news and it won't be good.
Meanwhile on the design front.
I am plugging along with my sisters kitchen. I struggle with being all creative and such but then I go back to classic because I am so damn practical. #curse
I will give you a quick look at where we stand. I used Courtney Shearer with The Designery [ I am no kitchen designer] because I couldn't get past the existing footprint.
I can not recommend using a designer that specializes in only kitchens enough! Seriously I see more people who let their builders plug in a kitchen and call it a day. No bueno y'all.
She helped me see outside the box and made sure that it would all fit!
Look at the plan above because I am about to show you how this very angle looks now.
The bump out on the left will be gone. It is a closet in the back hallway but she has PLENTY of closet space back there so she will not miss it!
Above....you can see that using that space allows for double ovens. I decided on just a range top so less bending over and directly across will the the island with a sink.
Again a simple island with shaker legs.....
The pantry will step back to 12" so as not to impede on the entry to the kitchen. It will house glasses, dishes and food.
I am still all over the place and Lord knows the design part could change as we are still finalizing the appliances.....so we haven't started yet.
But here are my thoughts today:)
Of course I am sticking with neutrals.....I mean did you think for a minute I would go all cray?
Stay tuned as I am sure I will be blogging about my angst over this one.....and stick around and watch my anxiety over this injury play out.
Happy Holidays y'all....let the games begin!

That’s my kitchen!. Black cabinets, check. Zellige tile, check. Black and gold faucet, ck. Stuck on countertop. Could you please share the information on the cream countertop material. That’s the last pice of the puzzle!
Sorry. Should have begun that comment with love your blog and ended with hope you’re feeling better. Didn’t mean to be rude but was so excited! That’s the exact inspiration I’ve been hoping for. Please enjoy your day and. thank you, thank you!
Being “older” means everything is a calculated risk! Having a big dog is in the red zone and a trip hazard cat is in the yellow zone. Even taking my Christmas tree off the roof of my car by myself is a choice of A) me on ground, tree on top B) scratches running down the side of the car, last year C) no tree, looking good. Hope your leg heals soon.

The mask is awful and hard to see! I put mine on at the last minute I go in somewhere for that very reason. Tricky for ladies of a certain age LOL. It's hard how long things take to heal too!
Nothing a stiff shot of whiskey won't cure:)
I hope you feel better soon!!
I’m sorry about the fall. I read that falls are the #1 cause of injury for people over 50. But how big is your mask?! In the last few years I’ve caused myself a few problems with “falls” off the curb. Hope your knee feels better soon. I’d be irritated, too if I couldn’t work out.
Looking forward to seeing this kitchen renovation. It sounds like a welcome change for that household. It is amazing to see the problems that a good kitchen or bath designer can solve. Definitely worth the money to hire one.

Oh, Sherry!! Sending a tidal wave of healing vibes to you! Please marinate in them and all of the love you have from this blog. Your sister's kitchen is going to be beautiful!!!!!!!!! I speak from experience to say that a kitchen remodel can change your life!! The builder of our house (we weren't the owners them) put in what I have always called the" island of misfit parts!" Multi-level, weird angles, bad storage, you name it!! Anyway, it is now the gorgeous, hardworking central element of our kitchen. Feel better soon!! xo
I'm old too and my biggest fear is falling. Your sister's kitchen is going to be amazing. I love what you do to the houses you work your magic on.
I hope you have a happy holiday season, or at least as happy as can be under the current circumstance.
xo,
Karen
