GREEN AND GRAY

Hola chickadees .....we are getting right to it today!

Green and gray.  After I spent all of my design smarts on putting together the family room of my project then I had to move right to the living room.  No time for jumping up and down with glee.....

I felt spent and did not think there was enough Ritalin in Georgia to help me focus on another large plan so soon.

But as they say....there is no crying in design:)

My starting point:

View from the foyer.

The gray ceilings were definitely a factor.

SW Repose Gray

The wood on the wall will be stained kind of a dark gray driftwood.

We started with soft blues and greens [cause you know I am a fan] but let's push it people.....so I suggested  "How about gray and green"..... in my best sing songy sell it voice.

After a trip to ADAC I realized that I might have boxed myself into a corner....yikes.

I found gray and green fabrics of course but not too many with both colors that wasn't a floral.

I posted this on instagram on my first go....

I then decided to see what other green and gray rooms I could find.

Who doesn't remember this gorgeous room by Kay Douglass

What do you think....are you a fan?

I've been tweaking all week and we are almost there.

It's a Scott's weekend!

Isn't this the same house with the pommegranite color in the kitchen and if it is, I thought you'd shown us another group of fabrics - or am I confused? Please straighten me out - but make no mistake when I say it's going to be gorgeous! Thanks for the update.

I literally had to prop my chin up to keep my mouth from hanging open and drooling. The combo of gray and green is awesome and your post is like an answer from the decorating angels. I have been struggling with how to merge my newly painted SW Agreeable Gray walls with my green kitchen cabinets which I absolutely love. I have a cream and green toile fabric that I wanted to use in the dining and kitchen areas long before I decided to go gray in my open living plan. You have affirmed to me that I am not nuts for trying such a combo. Thank you, thank you, and thank you !!! This is the first time I visit your blog (via edith&evelyn) and I will be back again and again. Have a very beautiful and blessed day !!!

Positively stunning. Can you please tell us who designed the gilded curly light fixture in the shot of the gray ceiling color? It's so unique! Thank you.

The curly light fixture is called ringmaster by Currey and Company.

This is such a fun project to follow along with you! I love the pops of fresh green with gray and know this is going to be a show stopper!

This project is amazing. I am in love with the chandelier! Definetly a fan of gray and green. Used same colors in my open kitchen, dining, & living area. Originally was going to go with yellow and gray because there were more fabric options, but it just seemed a little boring. So happy I embraced the green instead.

Sherry I really like the deeper greens for contrast and also adding some gorgeous green plants, like the Fiddle Leaf Fig!
