A DESIGN PLAN

A while back I went on a consultation to meet a new client.  She had done a beautiful renovation  and at first glance I thought "why am I here?".

Of course I didn't say that cause then she would say "OK….bye bye".

After we sat down to talk I realized she had the basics but wanted it to be styled.  Lucky me cause I like to do that right?

I gave her some homework….add some sconces, change around a few pictures and beef up the curtains.

And low and behold she needed pillows!  Music to my ears:)

She looked at me…….saw my eyes get little stars in them…..and thought "I have her now…. she's mine".

Yes, I'm that easy.

Here is the couch.
It's a RH gray velvet.

That is all I am going to show right now….until I do the install next week.

But here are some of the fabrics I came up with.

I worked with the colors that are in the eating area off the kitchen….chartreuse and plum.

One.

Two.

Three.

And then I stumbled across this Osborne & Little floral….

And the angels started singing….

Four.

Love how it has a hand painted look….and notice how I snuck in my favorite blue:)

I am going to sprinkle the blue and plum around in some of the accessories.

I felt like it would add a brightness to the room.  Just by itself the space has a slight masculine feel with a stone fireplace, that large sofa and 2 modern leather chairs.

I've been shopping like crazy and hope to have some before and afters soon!

It was a busy weekend with Scott's on Thursday and then the Mart.  Visual overload.  I did not see too much purple [this years color] but I did see tons of Indigo!  Dang PB is always on point.

Alrighty then….my Christmas decor is still sitting on the DR table….should I put it away today?  I want to but then that starts a whole re-editing…re-styling kind of thing and "ain't nobody got time for that".

Have a day that shouts "bring it on baby!!"

That fabric is breathtaking! Oh my goodness. What a lucky/smart client to hire you. You're going to make that house a home and I can't wait to see the after shots. xo

O & L is my all time favorite, their fabrics are so unique and always beautiful. Your client knows who to hire to "put the sprinkles on her ice cream." You will finish that place off like nobody's business!

Don't put Christmas away - go shopping instead. I love the winning fabric combo. I also love the polka dot fabric in the first few options - what fabric is that?

Oh my Sherry, I LOVE all of the fabric color combos! I am obsessed right now with eggplant/plum, green and gray blue combos and keep playing with them in paint. I'm not sure why they've been on mind but when I see these fabric combos, it really makes me want to do a room in these. Beautiful and I know that whatever you do will be off the charts shamazing! Ha!

Sherry if you weren't such a fabulous designer you could quit your day job and be a comedian!
I LOVE love love that floral, and I thought I was so over big florals after having a house of it in years gone by. But that one is so fresh and the colors! Oh perfection for your space. Can't wait to see your afters.

My angels sang with choice number 4, too. Can't wait to see how you turn a lovely, yet over crowded and dark space into something beautiful. Didn't see much new at Scotts last week, but time constraints kept me from digging. I need to secretly follow you around the place - you always find the best STUFF.

So glad to finally get to meet you( met you at Scott's on Thursday). You are just like I expected you to be ~cute, funny, very personable and well the talented designer part goes without saying. Loved my glass beads when I got home and played around with them in different little vignettes( got that idea straight from you). Seriously, you are my favorite - your before and afters are always amazing and reading your blog always makes me laugh which is a great way to start the day. Can't wait to see the after on this room!

Your commentary always makes me smile and your fabric schemes make me drool - that is an excellent combination. The angels started singing when I saw that O&L fabric as I'm sure they did for you too - how pretty. I hope you post some IG sneak peeks of this install.

Loving that color scheme. I just read an article on how chintz is coming back big time, so large florals are IN!! You are ahead of the curve. I LOVE citron, it is an in-between color in my book so it can cross over into many color schemes carefully. I know what you mean about pottery barn and INDIGO, LOVE it!!! Fits in my family room scheme perfectly,
Happy Monday,
Kathysue

Fabulous pillow options! Do you go to the ADC or do you have all those swatches in your office? Jealous there isn't a DC near me. Love the handpainted O&L look- very unique (at the moment!) Happy pillows, happy designer. xo Nancy

Is there any way that you would divulge the pattern name for the Osborne and Little fabric? I went onto their site and can't seem to find it. It's just lovely and it's such an unusual color combination.
