TIME TO COME CLEAN

As much as I enjoyed expressing envious feelings about my neighbors back yard......I have something to confess.

I am sure you figured out that we really are friends :)

Right?

Seriously....you did get it huh?  I just couldn't keep it going any longer, especially thinking that someone was going to blast me about how shallow I am for saying ugly things just because they had a prettier back yard.

Who would do that?

And admit it?

Oh come on......just kidding again.  Relax.

To set the record straight Anne is the "bestest" neighbor and we are even on first name basis.  Another joke.

Moving on.....

I ordered 2 of these chairs for a client.
It is  Lee Industries [1304-01].  Kind of a modern wing chair.  The fabric is one of my favorites: Mystical Natural.  Hard to tell, but it is kind of a slubby looking fabric.  Good for kids.....

The rest of her furniture is on the traditional side so I thought these would be a good mix.

Here are the fabric selections for the rest of the room.

I have tweaked the pillow fabrics slightly, taking out the cream linen one with the branch's on it.  Tres expensive.  And the one to the left of it.  Just cause. Added another one that is a little more playful and modern.

The curtains are ready made linen panels that I added trim to.
Crappy picture...need to be steamed.  I will do that on install day.

Saved money by adding that stuff that makes it a little stiffer on the top.  You guys that sew will know what I am talking about.  Makes them hang better.

There you have it......We are getting there on this one.

Anybody watch Design Star?

Off to Chicago on Friday to watch my stepdaughter race.  She is a track cyclist.  They go fast.  Bikes without breaks.

I don't know about you but I wanna be able to stop without crashing into someone if you get my drift.

I am a stickler for things like that.

I keep thinking it is Tuesday.  These 4 day weeks really throw me off sometimes...you know?

What's for dinner......hard sourdough pretzels dipped in humus?  Could be good, but I need a vegetable.

Of course you are friends :)

Yummy fabric selections and those chairs, YES! I trimmed my linen panels with ribbon, but they don't look that great. Those are perfect!

I love all the fabrics!! Great choices! What is that one to the left of the leaf patterned one, that you took out, if you dont mind me asking?

Sherry- Great post-I, of course, immediately looked at the fabrics and picked out the cream one that you discarded. Hey! I never said I was a cheap date, you know? lol Love your choices and you did great on the panels. I like that stiffener, too, it does make them hang better.

Your neighbor sounds like a real witch and I can tell you can't stand her-bwhahahaha...I'm sure she got a good laugh out of your post. Watch out for poison apples in your future though...m'kay? xo Diana

You didn't fool me - how could you not be friends with that fabulous yard that she had? And I love a good peek at your fabric scheme you got going on too. How is the house project with the cool fireplace and strange kitchen layout going?I always think about that one.

You are so funny. I would eat the hard Bavarin pretzels with Tastefully Simple spinach dip; not much of a hummus girl. LOL.

I love the Lee chair, and the linen panels look amazing. So funny about your neighbor, I'm still laughing about that post and it was totally obvious you were friends (we're allowed to hate our friends if they have better stuff than us, right?) haha.

Great color choices and that chair is fabulous. I knew you were kidding about your neighbor because my neighbor and I say and do the same things. Ya gotta have a sense of humor right? Enjoy the windy city!

I've used those chairs for clients before, too, and they love them. They especially feel good with a small pillow, since there is a built-in little space! At first you got me with your next door garden post, but then I knew it was Shajoker speaking!

I forwarded that post to all my friends and invited them to come see my yard that I had given "yard of the week award" to myself. You can only talk that kind of smack to people you really like!

Oooo, dinner sounded divine. If you had some catsup, you could alternate your dipping sauces and have your vegetable too! Yeah? Bet you didn't think of that one! I may not think of putting that stiff stuff on the top of drape panels, but I'm not a total loser!

You are everybody's best friend!

I feel crappy that I have not been over lately (and it has to do with a birthday present. Of course you don't know what I am babbling about. But you will soon!).

The drapes turned out P.E.R.F.E.C.T.

Love to you,

People who didn't realize it was all tongue and cheek apparently don't have a sense of humor. I'm still laughing over it. Also, it was especially well written I must say.

I read most of the comments but didn't see anyone who said what the stiff stuff sewed in is called. So curious. Love your fabric choices, as always. Do you have to be born with a fabric gene? Cause I don't get it!
