JIM THOMPSON no. 9 AND HOUSE OF FIFTY

Have you guys seen the cover of Southern Living for May?

Seriously, it had me a beautiful.

Let's explore shall we?

Is this room so dang pretty?  Why yes it is.

Shall we see the before?

The perfect palette....nada.

BAM x's a 100.

Love....Love....Love the curtain fabric which is Bamboozle by Jim Thompson no.9
Uh huh.

Top pillow fabric is Quadrille
Animal fabric is Quadrille
Pink fabric is Brunschwig & Fils
Bottom fabric is Schumacher.

The room was decorated by Lindsay Ellis Beatty.
Bravo to Lindsay.....she wasn't afraid to commit.

Since we are talking about Jim Thompson no.9.....here is another little pretty I brought home from ADAC the other day.  It is called Enter the Dragons.
Yes...no?
Here is what the print looks like.

It is so dang "Palm Beachy".  With all of it's mint green badness.

Could. You. Die.

Speaking of color people....

The new issue of HOF is beeeeuuuutiiiful.  I have it on my ipad....so I can savor every gorgeous picture and read all of the articles.
Who is proud of Janell???

OK......sometimes it is fun to see the inner workings of design decisions.

I had about 10 pictures re-matted for a client.  They were all ugly.  Not the pictures but the mats.    I was trying to keep them pretty neutral.  The problem was that the backgrounds of the pictures/etchings were different colors.

Some were very yellow, some pink.  It was crazy.  I used a small border of gray on a few to help with the difference of color between the mat and the image.

I laid them out to see which arrangement I liked the best.

Random...no.  I know my client and she would not dig this.

This is better but I had to tweak the middle row.

This works for me.

This is in her husbands office.  Gotta keep him happy right :)

We hung her old curtain rods.  We pulled off the 100.00@yd Schumacher swags, it was painful.  No can do boo boo.

I am so glad gold is back in style!

Instead we are going to go with navy taffeta silk panels.  Here is the rug that is going in there.  Don't hate on the accessories....can't really hook up this room until we install curtains, rug, and chair has been recovered.

This one was in her dining room.  We get new for in there...:)

So there you go.  It's a process people.  You know that.

I went to Scott's today.  Made it home with only a $5.00 purchase.

Whew.

Beach countdown....I'll be there in 48 hours...

Sherry- I have my Southern L but have been so busy I haven't had a chance to open it yet.

I love your client's office. It is going to be beautiful. Absolutely beautiful!!!! I'll bet you almost cried when you had to take down that $100/yd material. I, too, am glad to see the gold coming back in favor. I think it is very rich looking in some settings. xo Diana

I love that gallery wall! So inspiring. I felt a spasm of pain at pulling down $100/yard fabric drapes, but sometimes it has to be done.

Two things - that dragon fabric made my heart skip a beat! Initial thought, could I totally redo our bedroom and the hubby not notice?! Second, that grasscloth color in the office is to die for! LOVE it. Did you paint it or was it originally that color? M.
