Big shoes to fill now :)
She already has the master bedroom furniture which is very retro looking, the DR furniture [great story on that one]. She actually bought one table for $30.00, then found one she liked better and sold the first one for $150.00. Yep...profit $120.00. Can you believe that?
This is the rug we are working with in the living area.....she had it from her other home so we are using it. Oh yeah, when she sold her house last year, she had a huge garage sale and sold 90% of her furniture. That house was 5 bedrooms and now she has 2. She really wanted to start over...I'll say.
Good colors...navy, brown, black and white. Just so you remember here is the space. Wall of windows to the left where the sofa is going. TV over the mantel...really the only place for it. DR is through the opening to the right.
This is a little better picture of the space. We actually took off the top shutters and kept the bottom ones. For curtains we are just using dummy panels on each side of the large window.
The sofa is a creamy white kind of retro looking....it had to be small and of course...she found it on CL. I remember it was like $5 or something. Gotta find some fabrics to go with...so I just quickly [15 min] went on a search and came up with two options. One is more muted and one has more color.....
I would do the curtains [and some pillows] in the Ikat....and then use a few of the other pillow selections. [NO people...not all of them] Most of the furniture is a cream, and if you remember the whole house is painted BM white dove so it could stand the color.
The second option is much more muted with burlap curtains.
My first instinct is the second option...but I am a more neutral kind of girl. The first one would be really breaking out of the mold but I think they like color. We will see which one she goes for....you?
I managed to kind of put my guest room back together. My house has really been neglected lately cause I have gotten busy...not a bad thing but I kind like it when it is all about ME :)
Here are a few pictures of the wallpaper.
Not sure I am keeping this picture in there but I do like it against the paper.
Right now it is just leaning....
Of course I have opened up a whole can of worms now....you know what I mean. Something new in the room means I want to redo it. Somebody slap me. My husband will if I say that out loud.
You know that it is just this wall with the wallpaper. The rest of the room and ceiling is dark gray.
There you have it. I'm thinking about painting the door headboard. Yep......

oh my! loving "angie's house"!! i like option number two..let the rug SING!! just saying..i do like option one..but in a small room..i am just not sure..if anyone can pull it off..well that would be YOU!! your the best sherry!
It's a disease, I tell ya. Or maybe something they put in the Starbucks? Whatever it is, I have it too. Once you said guest room, my eyes darted in that direction and I just decided I can no longer live with seafoam....sigh. Thanks. Thanks a lot.
oh bth..your guest room looks amazing!
Love the ideas for Angie's LR, both are fun and with neutral upholstery, the room could go either way. Your guest room rocks. And, I have to tell you I love reading your blog, you have a great eye and a voice that sometimes has me laughing out loud! Thanks!

I trust Sherry's design brain. Whatever she decides, I'm doing!
i love that wallpaper, i so badly want to use it in a nursery, just waiting for the perfect client :)
Well how's a girl to decide with two equally gorgeous options. Let the torment continue!
I'm loving that painting against the wall and with the pillows! I just found you and am glad I did. Can't wait to follow you!

One thing ALWAYS calls for a million other things! It is a sickness for which there is no cure! I love the wallpaper and I have always been a fan of that door headboard. My son has one in his bedroom that I painted black.
Angie's house is going to be fabulous! I think I like Option Two the best....love the lamps!! And I am a color kind of gal!
Are you going to Scott's? Sharon wants to go again this time, but I have too much going on so I think I am going to have to pass....but I WILL be going to the next one!

Both choices = beaut-i-ful!! You're good!
What is your source for the clear glass lamp? I love it! Does it not get too dingy and dusty? I'd like a pair in my living room in front of the windows. I have that disease where I can't stand dirty glass...
Angie's finds are indeed amazing!! Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together. Both versions are beautiful.I think I'm leaning slightly to the one with more color but would be happy either way. Love your wallpaper and had to laugh when I read about saying it out loud!!
Sherry I am leaning towards the 1st option, of course color is my life!

Once you start a project and get an idea, you just can't stop...
I love it!
Be sure to check out my latest post on picture frame ideas, and you may have another project on your hands! :)
Happy Wednesday,

Hi Sherry, I"m new to your blog and love it. I'm loving both your options but lean more towards the colourful option.
Color of the headboard??? BM Wescott Navy???
I vote for option 2....Your wallpaper is perfect!
I like the neutral best too. All of those pillows are smashing together!! :-)
I love both idea. If it were my home I would mix the curtains from the first one and the table from the second one. Love it - and I actually like all the pillows - you can never have to many :)
I'm loving both design work ups...but if I had my druthers...I'd totally go for #1. I'm a color kind of gal and I will pretty much go for anything that includes cheveron stripes...I'm such a weirdo! Can't wait to see it completed!
So fun. I was just thinking that your headboard could look great painted an aqua or turquoise shade. I am a neutral person for the most part but I just love your option #1.

dang girl you are AWESOME. I love love love this room. Keep the painting!!
FANTABULOUS! Option 2!!
Guest room is sick girl! (in a great way, of course)
Sherry, love seeing a peek of your bedroom!! And for Angie I love the brighter colors. Can't wait to see it all come together!!
so much eye candy in one post! love, love and more love. The renovation project is AMAZING!
I love number 2 the most too. Love all of your things in your guest room. I adore that lamp!
This is so fun to watch Angie's house come together. And a sofa for $5?!!! bleepity-bleep-bleep. Can't wait to see what you decide. I just love watching a room com together.
xo,
abby
Paint the door headboard for sure! What do you have to lose? I'm usually a muted girl, but turquoise would be fun in that room!
Or a charcoal gray for a more sophisticated look. Fun to think about the possibilities, isn't it?!?!
I'm pretty sure my whole family would slap me Sherry. I love the colors, but I'm kind of neutral girl too. Whatever you decide on the headboard will be marvelous - I just know it.

oh for sure, you gotta redo your room..if you put the new wallpaper in, the room is just begging for a re-do.....
and your clients home is going to be amazing...
can't wait 'till you get to the decorating part too...my thought on the pillows is to do a mix of both..mostly neutral with one or two colorful ones...just a thought...
maureen
very well done. love the look. very light, airy, and clean.
You have an amazing eye, love all the mixture of elements in this room and the painting certainly adds to it all!

I don't know how I missed this... had to find it though Bryn's blog... Anyway I am glad she posted it and that the photo of your guest room caught my eye or I may have never seen it. LOVE your guest room ... love the pillows on the bed and your color combinations. And speaking of color... I vote for the first choice - again, great color combinations. Both are great options though!
LOVE the bedroom! It looks amazing! Can you remind me where the gray pillow fabric is from?
Oooh, so much to comment on. I actually love option 1. The oranges and blues speak to me. Did you see Ruthie Sommers living room in HB? All the oranges and turquoises? Loved it!
Your guest room looks great. Love that Schumacher Zimba fabric on the pillows. I bought some of that in the chartreuse colorway. Still don't know where I'm going to use it.
Wow, both those boards are spot on, but I do lean neutral and am loving the second one. Also, blown away by your guest room! In love with your wallpaper, the door headboard, art, bedding, okay, okay, everything!
Two great options! Can't wait to see what she goes with!! And, I'm totally jealous of your painting... love it!
Just returned from Rosemary Beach (along with the entire state of GA). I completely see why you chose a place there. The beach is unbelievable gorgeous.
