MY TRIP TO NANTUCKET

Well as suspected Tuesday was a no go on the post....and I was so relaxed by that point....that I could not even get to it on Monday :)

I can hardly explain how much I needed this break.  On top of everything we as a country are going thru....my own troubles definitely warranted a little break.

To start off....I felt really safe on Delta.  Everything was so clean and they are not selling the middle seat.  I think that was one of my biggest fears.

It was my very first visit to Nantucket and I can now say it's the most charming town ever.  The fact that 90% of the homes are gray and white really appealed  to my "neutral loving" soul!  Hopefully you saw some of my "instastories" showing some of the beautiful homes.  #visualoverload

I stayed with my neighbors who just completed a major renovation of their home.....and it was amazing.  They have been vacationing up there forever and finally bought 7 years ago.  Now they are gone from June to October which really irritates me.

This was the worst part....flying on Cape Air from Boston to Nantucket.  #whiteknuckle

I love the colors she and her team [that is another story] picked out....

Jumped out of the car to this garden scene....

It was like full on spring up there!

Check out the view from the very top of the house!

Now let's talk about Anne....she is an excellent cook.  Where I will have saltines and butter for dinner....with wine of course.....she will whip up something worthy of a 5 star restaurant .

A friend told me about this cookbook and I shared it with her.  She said it is her new favorite.....
I am just now realizing that she made the cover dish!  Cauliflower steak in a cauliflower puree with a lemon salsa on top.  IT WAS AMAZING.....

She made this dish from the same cookbook the first night!

She also made these which I thought was cruel!  We ate half the dough and then lounged around in a sugar coma the rest of the day.

We stumbled on this store while out looking for a few accessories for her new place.  Oh yeah....did I mention I was NOT part of the design team?

This place was a gem!

Right down the street was this amazing home....I was told it previously belonged to Tommy Hilfiger.  Those shutters......

But seriously there were so many pretty moments.....

Are you ready to book a flight?

So many pretty moments.....

On Tuesday we can discuss why I wasn't part of the design/build team [how many times have I said that right?].....and I will share some pictures of the inside.

Oh yeah..... the first day we got there we took the dogs for a long walk and I was so stressed about ticks I practically bathed in Deets. I then talked about ticks and how scared I was every 5 minutes on the walk.

They were kind of irritated about that.... but remember it was at their farm that I received my tick bite so I felt like they deserved to be a little uncomfortable:)

A NEW PROJECT

I am sure we are all getting ready for Thanksgiving....lucky me my sister owns a restaurant so cooking is something I can cross off my list!  But....I am still working and had to ask my clients nicely if I could have Thursday off:)

Here is some exciting news though.....

A picture of my kitchen from Atlanta Magazine Home!  Out now this very minute...whoop

My friend Lisa Mowry wrote the article and she made me sound pretty cool and hip:)  The photography is by Anthony-Masterson.

First project is a total renovation from Ladisic Fine Homes.

Foyer floors...yes please!

Ceiling trim!  So pretty!

The kitchen is almost in....

This Circa Lighting fixture is on the butlers pantry.....

Basement....

Club room

Clubroom plan.....

It's coming along at a swift speed scheduled to move in right before Christmas.

The next project is a second home down in Madison, Georgia for my neighbor who has the beautiful backyard.  I wrote about it here....

You can also read about it here

Anyway we strolled down to look at it the other day....because she said it needed a little bit of work.

Huh.....a little?

Hmmmmm......kidding right?

A brown sea of furniture and deer.  I have been working on a plan which includes changing out 10
sconces  that look like this...

Sprinkled all over the house.  Did I mention there are 10?

This one will take a little thought don't cha think?

Anyway....I gotta scoot for a curtain install this morning so I hope you all have the best Thanksgiving ever!

MY DAMN NEIGHBOR

Some of you may remember a while back that I wrote about my neighbors back yard.

Even though she is a yankee and goes up to some "waspy" island in Maine every summer for a month I am still friendly with her....or so she thinks.

Eye roll.

But here is the good thing.  Silver linings baby.
She has 2 Portuguese Water dogs and I have one rescue Old English that needs socializing.

I'm always thinking about poking my fingers in her eyes when she's talking but in-between "we are leaving for a month....renovating our bedroom" I heard "bring Cami over to play and have a glass of wine".  My ears perked up and I thought I can suffer through that for my child.....only I will bring my 6.99 wine over instead of drinking her 2.99 swill.

Thank goodness our dogs got along and played for an hour since I had to sit in her just OK  pretty darn nice paradise  backyard....cheap wine or not.

There's my girl!

That's Henry [the "show dog" of course right?] who was quite smitten with my big girl!

I can put my envious feelings aside because....Cami and Henry are now fast friends!  Success.

If you follow me on Instagram then you saw that we spent a few days in Boulder, Co visiting our daughter and her husband.  Love that town!

Can you believe they put us up at this cute hotel called The Bradley Boulder right off Pearl Street.  Clearly they did not want to clean the house:)

I give it 5 stars!

We ate dinner at Blackbelly Market

If you are a foodie then you know Chef Hosea  won Top Chef....and yes those that know me will laugh because I only stumbled upon that information.

Crikey.....bread pudding.

We also stumbled across this great gelato shop......Fior di Latte

 Cute huh?

We left very early Saturday morning to hitch a ride to the airport with Cari.  Like.... 4 AM early.  Since our flight did not leave until 10:30 I decided to get a little exercise at the terminal.  Remember that bread pudding....that was just the beginning of "the great Boulder sugar overload".

I walked 4 miles up and down concourse B.  In sandals.  And now I have blisters.

So there you have my week.

Monday is here to punch me in the face....real hard.
