CATCHING UP

I feel so bad leaving you guys hanging....I jumped back on Instagram because I really don't have to engage...but blogging is different.

It's been a little over a month and I am still struggling with overwhelming sadness.  I am haunted [as I knew I would be] with the visual of her last 2 days.  It was gut wrenching and not a good thing for an "empath" to experience.

Which is causing my nightmares at night and not being able to sleep.

I know I am not the only one who has experienced the loss of a loved one.....and my heart breaks for all of you that share this kind of heartbreak with me.

I miss her so darn much....everyday when I walk Cami around the block I go past her house and it  brings me to tears.  She was so amazing and about 400 people came to her funeral which blew me away....so many people telling me how she changed their life.

She was also the peace keeper in the family....never taking sides with anyone.

So....I have gone back to work although I am definitely not running at 100%.  I will try to catch you up with some of my projects!

The first one I will share is one that I have been working on for quite a while....she is the most patient client I have....for real.  I have also know her for over 20 years.....

This is her foyer and we got the rug a while back....then I brought in 2 of her DR chairs to extend the chest because it was too lonely.....

I sent her pictures of a lot of mirrors similar to the one we ended up with and  she was sending me mirrors that she liked but they were too modern.  I felt that with the chest having a modern feel I wanted something a little more "blingy" if you know what I mean....

She actually found the mirror and and picked out some art that she liked so I went over and got it all hung for her....

We added the crystal lamp and I remade 2 of her pillows smaller for the chairs....

I don't know about you but dang that antique mirror just makes it!  All art and the mirror were from Huff Harrington....a beautiful store here in Buckhead.

I am going to try and get back on a regular routine....but I have to tell you sometimes I feel this heaviness that does prevent me for engaging.

Also....thank all of you so much for the sweet comments...I read them all and was so comforted.

DESIGN PLAN

Good morning!

Yesterday I was on a panel at Americas Mart talking about social media.  Like I'm an expert or something:)

Which clearly I am not but I sure had fun!

I got a chance to wear my new jewelry from Scott's and the most comfy shoes on the planet.

My team and moderator Betsy Riley [editor in chief of Atlanta Magazine].  I was kind of glad to be at the end because by the time the question got to me it had already been answered and I got to give a short smarty pants answer that made no sense.

I have a reputation to keep right.....head back.....hearty laugh.

Anyway...enough about me.

I am working on a new project which includes 2 bathrooms, living room and master bedroom.

The bedroom has a small foyer that is begging for a party dress.....so with some big changes  you will come around the corner and stop in awe....haha.

First up is to remove the wallpaper and then I want to add some moulding to the doors.....something like these below.

With some pretty hardware by Emtek.

Now I guess you want to know what the wallpaper is going to be?

This gorgeous Thibaut paper which is the softest blueish gray....

For the ceiling I want to add crown moulding plus take out these can lights and replace with something pretty.

All from Circa Lighting.

Are you feeling it?

On this wall I will add a beautiful mirror!

This one from Mirror Image Home is a favorite.

The bedroom is huge!  enough space for a sitting area and a chaise lounge over by a beautiful view.

More on that later!

But here is the tentative plan....

Very classic traditional!  I am trying to channel my inner Phoebe Howard......

I'm pumped about this one.....

Can you believe it's Friday? Big plans for the weekend?

MY FOYER REVEAL

Can you believe I made such a fuss over this small space?  Dragged it out like a mini ORC......

I know y'all remember when I pleaded on this blog for Schumacher to donate that Celerie Kemble wallpaper for my cause.....to deaf ears as they say.

After eliminating all of the other choices and going back to my first love I decided to stop fretting about it and just order it.

I have to say the day it went up I knew that for once I had made the right decision.  Like the Hollyhock....I love it madly.

Isn't it so pretty?

It is such a small room and with my limited photography skills I am going to bore you with every darn angle :)

You can see on the ceiling up in the corner I finally installed the light fixture from my room at the Inspiration Showhouse a year and a half ago!

It's probably just me but I love the door painted that color...Don't you think white would have been boring?

I've had this sunburst mirror for about 12 years.  It is hand carved out of wood and how ironic that I bought it at a Schumacher sample sale......

Even though it's been finished for about a month I still feel giddy every time I walk through the front door.

Sources:
Wallpaper: Schumacher Celerie Kimble
Door Color: BM Palladian Blue HC 144
Wall Color: BM White Dove
Console Table: Scott's [years ago]
Light Fixture: Circa Lighting Basil Flush Mount
Sunburst Mirror: Schumacher
Rug: To the trade [similar at Myers Carpet]

It has been a little like Christmas around here with the DR and now the foyer.  I have been in this house 20 years and for the first time I have actually done 2 rooms start to finish.....with a plan...in a timely manner.

Kind of like when you use a designer:)

It's the last weekend of the ASO Decorators Showhouse....if you need a reason why you should go you can see some gorgeous pictures here

MY FOYER PART 2

OK....So where were we......

Horizontal boards.  Check!

Then I decided that I was tired of the stripes....don't get me wrong....I love them but I knew I could still do that treatment somewhere else in my house.

With so many incredible wallpapers out now I started leaning in that direction.

But which one?

Well that is the million dollar question.  It's the foyer and I will be seeing it everyday.

Here are a few of the gazillion samples I brought home.

Sanderson/Etchings & Roses

Farrow & Ball/Ocelot

Cole & Son/ Tile

Oh...there were more
Groundworks/Channels Paper

Thibaut/T1865

Are you starting to feel my angst now?
That is one of the reasons I was afraid to add the foyer to my ORC....what if I couldn't make a decision?  What if it was backordered....

I wanted something that went well with the Schumacher Hollyhock cause I had committed to that fabric....and I really wanted to paint my front door.

Blue.

Then I started splitting hairs as you can see.
In the end I went with BM Palladian Blue HC 144

And this is when I fell in love.....Dayum this color is pretty.

So it went like this.....

I chose the Celerie Kemble.  I kept going back to that one because  it had grasscloth AND white....what is not to love huh?

I know it's a small room and you are thinking....come on already Sherry....what is the hold up here?

Well that would be me..... being mean.  Plus I want to take some pretty pictures which I will do today!

In other news my friend Darlene just posted her nursery and it's so good!  Go here to take a look!

It's Wednesday....so you only have 2 more days until the weekend.

Hang in there
