Well howdy!
I have a fun "before and after" for you today. If you follow me on Instagram then you saw my post from yesterday and y'all this is a doozy!
Get a cup of coffee cause this one is long:)
Linda called me about 2 months ago to help get her place in shape for her son's wedding reception being held at her home. In this day of Covid.....weddings have gotten much smaller with just family so she was going to set up a table in her sunroom.
As a busy professional woman she had not done anything to her home for a long time and this was the catalyst she needed!
The goal....since time was short....was to paint, recover furniture, new rug and 2 new chandeliers. AND of course re-zhush!
Let's start with paint....instead of painting all the trim which is costly we just tried to neutralize the walls....you can see that the walls were yellowish in this picture.
I found this one from Low Country Originals. It was custom made and shipped from Savannah.
It's made from copper piping which was good since we were already using a copper lamp she had.
After paint and securing the chandeliers I got to work finding enough fabric to recover the 2 sofas and 2 chairs. That is a lot of fabric.....42 yards for the sofas alone!
Also enough yardage for the window treatments. I wasn't going to re-invent the wheel. Using the same rods and rings!
Below is the copper lamp she already had. I just got a different lamp shade.
Below are the recovered chairs. These were from Lee Industries....and you can see we had the back cushion made taller!
The picture below was the inspiration for the colors....dark gray...and touch of chartreuse!
Another thing we did was change out the wood top on the coffee table by adding a slab of marble! That was a game changer!
This table was supposed to be painted but we just couldn't get it done in time.....so we just layered many books and things on it.....all was good. Can't sweat the small stuff!
So....glad to check that box as they say! On to other projects.....
Hope you guys have a great week.....I think the weather is supposed to get cool later in the week here so I will be glad to not be wearing a frizzy helmet on top of my head.....hee haw.

Really superb. It’s looks fantastic; bright, inviting elegant. You are very talented, and I like that you were able to work with her existing pieces rather than adding to the wastefulness of starting over.
Good God!

Excuse my language, but Holy F*ck!! That was my first response! It is a night and day difference, so much lighter and brighter and done in 2 months, WOW👏👏, you never cease to amaze me. Rose sure did a good job straightening those curtains too🙌😊
Brilliant!! She must have been thrilled!!!! How fortunate your clients are to find you and allow you to work your magic on their homes. LOVE the new color scheme so much. I echo the others who say it looks like a whole new home. XO
While driving from SC thru GA I'm in the passenger seat flipping thru your images, and I outloud exclaimed "WHO TURNED THE LIGHTS ON??...WOW!!" (This transformation was like having Lasik surgery!) My husband thought I was having a possible stroke..this is one of my favorites you have recreated.LOVE it!
Beautiful transformation! I've used SW Shoji White in three rooms so far in my home and love it. It's such a nice neutral white.
Lovely. I’m curious about the cost of recovering the furniture vs purchasing new. That was a lot of fabric. WhT was your deciding factor?
this is a nice Blogm thank you
Fabulous, Sherry! Simply fabulous!
