THIS AND THAT

After getting back from Boulder last Friday I feel like I have been playing catch up all week!  Unfortunately I only have 14 days until I go on vacation for 9 days [Antigua, Guatemala].   A real one....not Florida where I usually work 50% of the time:)

Y'all it has been about 7 years or so since I have gone anywhere but the "sunshine state"......

To say I am stressed is an understatement.  First up is leaving Cami.  I know she will be fine at Dog Days but it is gonna kill me.  Then of course there is just the whole packing...."leaving my routine" gig.  Throw in the plane ride and it's not going to be pretty.

#normalproblems.

Anyway.....my week.  I ran into Schumacher to drop off bags of fabric samples and took a quick look at some new fabrics....

This is how I get distracted....hee haw.

I love this new color way of Pearl River!  Have you ever seen so many beautiful shades of blue:)

New Celerie Kemble wallpaper!

Just a whole lot of goodness right there.

Y'all remember this dining room I have been working on? "Curtain gate"

Just check out the art that we commissioned from Andrea Costa

It's getting framed and will be installed next Friday.  Whoop.

Picking out door hardware for a project!

Rocky Mountain Hardware is incredible!  You can custom any piece AND they come in all of these finishes.

Inside door hardware from Emtek.

And of course no week is without problems....

After  visiting one of my construction projects....I noticed these bookshelves in the master were no bueno.  That dead space on both sides is NOT going to work....stay tuned to see how we work this one out!

And there you have it...

But I leave you with something funny!

I hate spiders.....who's with me?

BEFORE AND AFTER

Just when you think I am done sharing rooms.....here comes another one:)

Yep.  The house that keeps on giving.

While the push was on to complete the upstairs before the Cathedral Tour....I scrambled to finish 4 rooms.  One of them was the girls loft which is an area in-between the bedrooms where they can hang out and watch TV.

Here is the room during construction!

And below is the before....where all of the leftover furniture kind of got dumped.  Lets see what we can do with it:)
The goal was to edit out what would probably not work and pull the space together without breaking the bank....cause that is always the goal right:)  I mean who says "let's redecorate and break that bank".....Call me if you are that client.... hee haw

You remember when I told you that there were 2 of these Mitchell Gold sofas from the previous family room.  The other one was recovered here

I found some fabric and had my trusty slipcover guy come and work his magic.

See these chairs in the sunroom of their previous home?

We reused them in this space....
I found the 3 prints at the mart and the lamps at Target!  Of course new shades from Pottery Barn helped.

This bench got a little love in the form of some faux croc from Lewis and Sheron Textiles.

The round white end tables came from the Mitchell Gold winter clearance!  These days it's nice to add some modern to a space.

One of my favorite things about this area are the functioning windows that open to the stairs.  The TV stand is Bernhardt Interiors.

You can just see the glass half wall behind the sofa.  The curtains start here and go all the way to the first floor dining room!

This alcove was built for this antique buffet.

The hand painted herringbone stripes!  Bernhardt Interiors chest.  Lily Harrington art.

And that's it.  No more undecorated spaces for me to post about in this house:(   I worked it though!

Look at my sweet baby sleeping....

I want to eat that face.

THIS AND THAT

I got back from Boulder last night after helping my step-daughter and her husband with another staging project.  Like the last time I went out there to help...... it was a full on sprint.  Since it's a duplex we had to divide the furniture which proved to be a bit of a challenge!

I don't have many pictures yet but they promised to send me some....

Before....

Each side is 4 bedrooms, 2 baths with about 1800 square feet.

We only had one bed which forced us to make a trip to Ikea..... about 45-50 minutes away.  Thinking myself a seasoned "Ikea shopper".....we made a list of everything we needed so we wouldn't get side tracked right!  Our plan was to spend 1 hour there....period.

And....we might have made that time limit except when you buy a bed there is this little thing called "furniture pickup".

Still after 1 hour and 20 min we were on our way with a TV stand, bed, shelving unit and some decorative accessories.

We had this sucker put together in record time....31 minutes!  Boom.

I'm bummed that I did not get good shots....seriously it was dark when we wrapped  things up.

In other news before I left I had to pick kitchen cabinet colors for a project.  That gave me some angst.....I mean if it's for me....easy peasy,  but I was stressing to get it right.

The countertops are Calcutta Gold and the backsplash is the same material [one of the above patterns].....here is BM White Dove.

BM Snowfall

BM Simply White

All three.....I went with my fav White Dove.  After talking to the guy at BM he told me the difference between these colors and White Dove has less yellow in it.

Master bathroom....

Linen closet doors will have antique mirror in the panels.

These are the dormer windows which always present design problems.....
My fix is to shiplap the hell out of them and put in window seats for the cats.  Done.

The hickory floors.....

I am so excited for Matthew Quinn's book to drop on March 4th [my birthday]!  And look what made the cover.....the project I worked on:)
More on this later....

Hope y'all have a fun weekend.....
