GUEST POST

About a month ago Kim from Savvy Southern Style asked me if I wanted to be a part of her "my favorite room" series.  "Sure" I said.  While my brain said....."that is like a year  month away so I have plenty of time to tweak the space, photograph, edit and pick the best images".

In usual "Sherika" fashion 2 days before the deadline I got busy in pure panic mode.....which room to do....can I do a complete kitchen reno in a few days.....will my husband please leave for the office so I can start this gig......

Day one I did not even brush my teeth until 3:30 in the afternoon [or get dressed for that matter].  I learned that being a photographer and stylist is dang hard work.  It spilled over into day 2 after I realized some pictures were crappy and I had to try harder.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me why I always wait until the last minute to get something done?

Seriously.....this has always been an issue with me.

Enough.

Kim.  That girl is amazing.  She is my painting muse and paints like any day they might discontinue the whole process and she will be stuck with something that has only been painted 4-5 times.

The horror.

So if you want to see what all this fuss is about head over here

And don't forget about the giveaway...

I have a dentist appt I must get to but wanted to return later to comment about the "putting things off till the last min part!" I just saw the pictures of your rooms, which are truly stunning, but Sherry your photo shoot is outstanding! I LOVE the bottle collection images. You should do more still life shots. Love all of the colors too. Remind me so much of my home town. Yay, for you today!!

Love that room more and more every time I see it! I'm right with you on the procrastination - it doesn't matter if I'm given two years notice, I wait until the last minute to get anything done. Then I say I'll never do that again. Then I do. Have a great weekend and thanks for the laughs!

Your room is beautiful. I had to laugh when I saw your brass swans. I had a pair years ago and got rid of them during one of our moves. Evidently that was a big mistake.

OK, as for the last min thing; you should look at yourself as an artist. I had read one time that you were once a flight attendant which may explain the adventurous side of your shopping. So, with that said, you naturally know what you are doing or are able to do forthcoming. There is a underlining confidence thing in your head that is really saying "I know I have this project deadline, but it's right up my allay and I can tackle it withe ease BUT once you are really getting "it" done you are battling with the high standards of your "vision" so it seems harder then it really is! Which could also be another reason you put things off. Holy cow, I kind of put all of that together fast and hope it makes some kind of sense. Anyway, your home is gorgeous and the photographs are just breathtaking! Congrats on the feature.

Brand spankin' new to your blog, where have I been? Your decorating is gorgeous, I love it! I love the beautiful artwork you said you picked up from fleas and antique shops, if only I could find pretty colored art like that around my home ;)
Looking forward to spending my morning snooping around the blog!
Have a great weekend.

Your post at Kim's was great Are you a perfectionist? Many times, perfectionists have a tendency to be ptocrastinators. You know it will never meet your stsndards, so you put off getting started to avoid the disappointment of self. It takes one to know one !
I can't wait to read more posts!
