SOME REALLY GOOD STUFF

I find it really hard to blog [as I am sure most of you do] when there is tragedy like the explosions in Boston.  I knew people who were running in the Marathon and when I think about how excited they were......it makes me sad to think  the experience was marred by terrorism.

I can only say this...what kind of world are we leaving for our children.  I know that is a broad statement and covers a lot of territory but just the simple fact of not feeling safe during a fun family outing which includes  cheering on family members just makes me damn sad.

I want to turn back the clock to a time when kids played outside all day and only came home at dark for dinner......no one worried.

Of course that will never be.

Rock on Boston.

Yesterday I was at a clients new house [she has downsized to a smaller place] and we were trying to hang all of her art.

I instagramed [sherryhdesigns] some incredible pieces that I forgot she had.  When I found out she had an estate sale and I didn't know about it I wanted to poke her eyes out.

Whadaya mean?

Take a look at a few of these beauties....

These are not faux people....
They open up and the inside was covered in green silk...

Yes...she had 2 of them....

Authenticity.  From Russia with love.....

She also had 2 of these....

2 means one is extra right?  Me me me me me....hand up jumping like a 3 year old that has to go to the bathroom....

It sucks to be me....she had a spot for both of them.....like I thought she might say...."Oh do you want one?"  Same crazy thought that I could actually afford anything at the estate sale.

I did not remember this brass and acrylic bed she had.....

This made me cry like a little girl......the holy grail of beds....

She decorated her home over 20 years ago and when I told her that everything in it was so hot now she was amazed......

That we are all running around doing faux malachite on every surface presenting it like the cure for cancer.........silly us......

I'm going back to finish up on Tuesday and I will not forget my camera this time......

So excited for the chance to go preview the Decorators Show House today......this is one door that I am glad blogging opened for me:)

Have a safe day please....

Wow. I can't even believe how awesome those malachite tables are, and that bed is beyond words. Painful.

Boston just leaves me sad and horrified. Prayers still going out.

It is indeed a sad world when you can't even go to a family event without tragic results.

On a lighter note I loved bed and wish I had it.

That bed is gorgeous! And the malachite tables. After being a homeowner for 17 years I am seeing things come back in style….a sure sign of getting old!!
I am with you on our world. So many of my friends and family went to or ran the marathon and I'm still sickened by the "what-ifs" of the day….and all the victims. But this city rocks…..so many acts of kindness everywhere as a result….that part is heartening.

I nearly fainted when I saw that malachite table. This is what we all strive to leave behind to our heirs isn't it? The screen was pretty nice too! Aaaaand...that's why I'm loving hitting all the estate sales these days...some incredible back in style gems!

Yeah, it does feel weird to blog about decorating and design and stuff when people are in the hospital traumatized with legs blown off... that's for sure. When i was young, i was sent outside, barefooted, to play, and was not really allowed in pretty much until dinner... then bath and to bed. Kinda different now, huh?

Your friend has some amazing stuff... whoa

Holy Guacamole! The bed,,,, shitake! Score!
Boston does make it hard to focus on the material..... Will not give the misguided my anger as it empowers them too much. Just saying....
