FINAL REVEAL OF MY NEPHEWS ROOM

You ready????

Boy what a buildup.  You would think I was designing a whole house with no budget and it was going to be featured in AD.

I think that this project resonates with everyone....how to put a room together on a budget and fast.  Where to start....making a plan.

As I told you in the first post....we cleaned.... measured, and drew out a rough floor plan.  Next up..... get on the internet and find inspiration.

We did not want to change the wall color which had a hint of gold in it.  My sister did paint the bathroom because it was FULL ON YELLOW.

This task is important.....you need to know the sizes of items...and when you are outlet shopping that is crucial.  You gotta get when you see!

To save you time....I will show the before space and the after.....so you don't have to flip back to the previous post.

I can be nice like that :)

Ugly ass yellow.

My favorite shower curtain from Target.  This room was so small it was hard to get shots.

This is before the "big clean"....vomit.

Much better....need a little touch up on the paint....but remember we did all of this in 4 days!

Before...

I had the mirror which was white and we painted.  My sister had the chair and I dug around for a pillow in my stash!  We could only find a 6 by 9 rug instead of 8 by 10 but it works....

I also had all of these accessories on the chest....of course I had to stage it a little.  Doubt it will stay like that you know.....

Thank goodness there was a magnolia tree out back....

Before
Here is a picture before the pillows were added.  Love those Target lamps...the bring the texture from the chair to the other side of the room.  I had the owl picture and the black end table.

And....the pillows from my fabric stash.
Simple gray trim to frame them....

Did not want to use too many decorative pillows....he is guy after all and might not want to spend the better part of the morning trying to put that puzzle together.  Just saying....

I tried to get a close up of the duvet from the Nate Burkus Collection.  It was perfect.

Desk and chair.....such good deals....sigh.

Before
This was the steal of the buying spree.....the bookcase.

I did the best I could to stage this sucker.....There is a story behind the 3 beer bottles....I am sure all the cute stuff I added will disappear back to my hoarding closet:)

We did not have much time to shop for art but I saw these at Home Decorators and thought they would look great on a side wall.

They were so cheap.  Might have to haul myself back up there to purchase....need to see where we are on the budget first :)

That is all I got....as a blogger we live for before and afters right....well I LOVE doing them.  Especially when I don't have to get permission for my choices!

Thanks for every single one of your comments on this series.  I heard from people who were only stalkers before and felt compelled to say something about this project!

Love that!

Thursday I had lunch with Lori and Erika.  We met at ADAC and were fighting over 4 month old Cam......

Such a good baby:)

Have a rocking good weekend.....final four here in Atlanta....traffic is gonna suck.

Sherika

Oh my gosh, I love it!! I am about to take on my 14 year old's room - it's so gross, I can barely stand to step in there - but this gives me a little fortitude to go ahead and get it done - all those scores from outlet shopping! You are the queen.

I spot an old train ticket to Alresford! How strange, that's where my Dad lives...and near me in the UK!!!! And it's not pronounced how its spelt by the way...very funny!! The railway line isn't part of our modern system anymore but is called the watercress line and has old steam trains on it! Random information...cool makeover!

So damn good - I hope I can do something like this someday for my nephew. It's got such a nice grown up look but pieces that he'll be able to use forever. That desk vignette is so simple but I think that's my favorite and the shelf too. Great work as always Sherry!
