A DAY IN THE LIFE........

So I just lost 36 hours and I am pretty sure I can't get any of it back.    If you have a queasy stomach you might want to flip to the next blog.....

I started feeling bad around 3:00 Thursday afternoon....at 5:30 I decided to go lay down.  Now those that know me will attest that I am not a "nap taker".....for some reason I just can't sleep during the day.

By 6:15 I had proof positive that a little nap was not going to do the trick.  As I was laying there moaning I realized that I was going to be sick.  I felt so bad that for a split second I thought about just heaving over the side of the bed.

Really

Thank God I mustered up the effort to get my ass up and make it to the proper container [you know what I'm talking about].

In-between heaving to the point of thinking that along with the Cesar Salad I had for lunch that just maybe a few organs were about to take a hike,  I lay on the cold tile floor sweating and gaging for a good hour.

Thinking it was over I crawled back to bed with some minor relief.  Hell no said the devil.  I'm not done with you....your eyes haven't popped out of your head yet.

Not until 3 AM would I finally take my last turn at the sink in the kitchen....yeah I got up to let my Dogs out to pee.

Weak and tired about 4AM I finally fell asleep.  Friday is a blur.  I had like 20 voicemails from people but hardly had the energy to even listen to them.

I slept on and off most of the day and had some tea and toast around 5 in the afternoon.

I just rested until I realized that while my immunity system was at an all time low an ugly nasty cold had squeezed it's way in.  Now came the hacking cough [sympathy???].  This is where it gets crazy.

I got up at 4AM to take a swig of some leftover prescription cough syrup.  Who reads directions at that hour? [shake well].  Apparently all of the major drug part rises to the top.

Oh My God.  I finally fell asleep to the worst nightmares ever.  It was like Texas Chainsaw Massacre only I was the star.  I dreamed that my car was stolen with the 7,000.00 rug in it we are using for the Show House.  I did not wake up until 10:00 Sat morning.  It was like in the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy woke up in Kansas and everything was normal again.  Birds were chirping and singing, the sun was shining.

All I kept thinking....well I thought a lot of things.... why is my husband out of town, thank God it didn't happen next week when I have the install to the Show House and of course [thinking it was the flu] why did I sneer at my doctor when she tried to strong arm me into getting a flu shot.

The point to all of this is that I was supposed to go to the Mart on Friday and Scott's on Sat.  I am sorry to say that I have no Scott's pictures this month.....but I did put on my game face and make the trek to the mart for a few hours.

My friend Sudi decided to take the leap and actually go into the official pillow business!  This was her first show so I had to go give her support.

Here is a look at her booth!

I asked her what was selling the best and she said neutrals!  I am not surprised are you?

My pictures aren't so hot....I am surprised I had the strength to hold the camera :)

She has a Facebook page now!

This is the week we install at the Show House.  Yep....better known as "hell week" I am sure.  It will be crazy busy but I will definitely try and post some pictures.  You can also follow me on instagram sherryhdesigns for the inside scoop!

Food poisoning or the flu......does it really matter?

The ONLY good part.....5 lbs lost.

I guess the romance is over with us.....I have shared the ugly.

Shaheaving.......

If you were going to be sick, better this weekend than all next week.
But.
Girl, you did miss a great Kenneth Event! Maybe next time.
I'm thoroughly enjoying my special pillows!!!
Be careful this week...you are weak, remember....have people do things for you! :) I know that's going to happen!

What a week end! You are a real trooper to make it to your friend's show.I have had a few similar experiences...the worst one was when i started to get sick (both way ) before take off in Thailand on my way to Hong Kong... well, I spent take and landing and the entire flight in the plane's bathroom! Not a happy camper...

I just read this while my supper is nuking in the microwave...WHY? I sure hope you're feeling better and it wasn't the flu, flu lasts way longer and you're still alive...;)It was the salad if you were up in 36 hours so no worries. Your friends pillows look fabulous and I wish her great luck. Now I'm going to go eat....

Oh geez Sherry...sucks so badly! Sorry you had to go through that! Glad you are feeling better. I'm guessing food poisoning since it was so violent and went away quickly. Had the same thing happen to me years ago after a Caesar salad!

What a freakin nightmare... thank the lord you're on the other side of it, and you earned some immunity points from it all... i would pretty much rather shoot myself in the foot than get anything that makes me puke!

Sounds like food poisoning to me. I had a virtually identical scenario on a visit to Austin in October and an unfortunate meal at a Vietnamese restaurant. Glad you are feeling better and just in time.

Drink Gatoraid because it works wonders. I always keep a couple of bottles around for such times as you've experienced.

OH Sherry....so sorry....hope your better now. Cant wait to see your room from the showhouse. good luck!

Oh, Sherry, I am SO sorry. I had a horrible heave-fest New Year's Eve of 2011 (not the most recent 2012), and I still remember how bad it was. I doubt you had the flu, probably just a horrific stomach virus (or it could've been food poisoning if it was within 8 hours of when you last ate). Uggh. Take it easy. Can't believe you made it to the Mart after all that. Good luck with the install - I can't wait to see it!

Yikes! It sounds like a pretty nasty few days! I hope you're starting to feel better and don't need to carry a barf bag everywhere you go! 5 lbs lost is a nice bonus after all that! :)

A very similar bug just blew through our house while my husband was out of town for work. I think I can out gross you though as my oldest who sleeps on the top bunk, threw up all over his little bro's head on the bottom bunk and little bro would have slept through it if I didn't wake him up. If I hadn't been laughing so hard I definitely would have cried. (whew, I feel better just venting about that whole experience). Glad you are feeling better!
