WELCOME TO SUNDAY

As with most of the country Atlanta has been subjected to torturous hot weather.  The only good thing is that it's not that humid....which saves my hair from looking like a full grown chia pet.

Still...I won't be going for an afternoon run any time soon.  I read somewhere that the National Weather Service issued a "fat guy in a tank top warning"....hee haw.

All that being said I decided to go to a little indoor/outdoor flea market yesterday.  AND....when I say indoor....not air conditioned.

Sometimes I question my judgement.

But the lure of something called "The Vintage Revival" was too much for me.  So off I went.

Wanna see what I saw???

I think maybe the organizers might want to re think the middle of summer and possibly do this in the early fall....just saying.

Apparently this venue is called The Goat Farm.  I didn't see any goats.
I am loving old pictures....

See this wall which was taken at a Show House on Thursday [where I was NOT supposed to be taking pictures at all]

Of course I saw a turquoise typewriter......

I love old cans like this...

You can put a piece of mirror on top and use for a side table like I did.
I really wanted this book...it was rare and old.

Another use for chalk paint.

If you need anything from her shop.....here is the info.

I need this....

And these....tons of cool vintage clothes....

This is the name of their shop.....little bird blue

This caught my eye...

I love when peeps get all creative with fabric!

Info....

Rather nice vintage acrylic chair....4 of them.  My friend Mary Bairstow [Scott's Antique market] was there with some good stuff.

Could be a nice headboard...

Old lighting.

Remember Jimmy Stanton's room from the Show House???

Another Scott's vendor Parker Kennedy was there.  I love his West Palm Beach style.

Nice painted bamboo.

Hmmm.....a gold painted shell.....

I love the rope detail on the arms of this chair.

Holy old toys......
I am 100% sure that I had this set in the 1800's when I was a kid....

Old bike picture...I likey.

I was there for maybe an hour and then I started feeling like I needed an oxygen tank.  I can not even imagine what the vendors felt like after being there all day.  If you are local.....it is still going on today.  On Foster Street in the West End.

I am going to leave you with this....
Shout out if you've done this :)

Since I am staying inside today...guess I will clean my house.
That is usually last on my list for fun weekend activities.

That is all.

I can only imagine how miserable you felt being without A/C while shopping there. The things we do for shopping! I had to laugh about your spider definition. I did that VERY thing last night on my front porch. I walked through a web and starting waving and flailing like crazy. I'm sure my neighbors got a good laugh!

Cool stuff at that market. My husband does the shark when he thinks he is going through a spider web. Hand to the front of the forehead and charge on through and then he does the karate chop. Stay cool!

I like the bamboo shelf. Stay cool!

Love the spider web definition. :)

Enjoy your day at home!

Great finds! I'd be tempted to drive over if it wasn't so flippin' hot here. Have fun cleaning. Turn the music on. Cleaning is not so bad with music!

If it wasn't hotter than Haiti here, I would go check that out, but right now I am loving my A/C and my trusty Shumate crew! We did venture down to cb2. At least they have A/c too!

Just realized a new post from one of my favorite bloggers "popped" up.....Oh I love the way technology can do that! Looks like a fun time. I love the fabrics! How did you every take the heat that long? You are one defiant girl

Way too hot here. I went and did some indoor shopping with air conditioning. This chick isn't shopping without air in this crazy hot weather.
Thanks for recommending your slipcover guy. He will be coming to my house later this month.

Looks like my kind of place, minus the heat! Hope the cleaning went well.

You are a trooper! Too hot for me. I really liked the painted bamboo. I could totally see that door as a sliding barn door :)

I hate saying LOL, but that's the only way i can express the karate master spider web response... omg that's funny.
I live in NC, and it was like 107 degrees, and i'm old as the F word... good lord almighty, i don't know how anyone even stands up for 3 minutes in this kind of heat. I have the greatest respect for your determination to check out that market with no AC.
Interesting stuff at the flea market, i liked the book too... and the bucket of hydrogenated oil ... pretty cool... those lucite chairs were vintage??... they look so like something from now... i'm not sure if i like or hate the gold shell, and the funky chairs are cool little works of art...

I really enjoyed your tour of the market. Cool Stuff! And, I didn't have to leave the comfort of my AC. You are a brave lass to go out in that heat!

Cool stuff. I have that book, of course. You should too. Go back and get it. I want those crazy lucite chairs. Just one. The heat is unbearable in Texas too, most of the time.

I think that market needs to have those little misters (like mist, not Mr.) that spray people as they walk around. How are people not dropping like flies in that heat? Some really cool stuff though. Any tips on selling at antiques faires? I'll be trying it for the first time in August.

Sherry, don't clean the webs away, just spray paint them and save them for Halloween decorations!! Add a sparkly spider and you are DONE!! lol.

Oh, my word. 10-4 on the full grown chia pet. I have officially quit doing my hair. It's a complete waste of time. Thankfully we have power, which is more than most Western Virginians can say right now.

Those old nautical lamp things are awesome.

You know you are a serious antiquer/thrifter when you brave the 100 degree heat....Oh, and so glad that you liked "my toys"....:) Looks like you had a great time!

I love the industrial lighting. Of course, I never would have imagined it could look so cool before I saw it in Jimmy Stanton's room in the Showhouse. I have great sympathy for the dealers who were selling their wares in Hotlanta.

so did you clean the house? cuz i have said that like 30 times this summer, and somehow everything just stays the same.

mine is more of a dance then a karate move. ya. a shimmy head shakin thing.

i am always on the lookout for the osa book too. i do have a page from it where she's on a little zebra and have used it for collage.

stay cool, mama.
