SCOTT'S.....

I meant to post this yesterday but...well....I don't know.  Time just vanished from my day.  Still looking for it:)

Scott's was off the charts this month...do I say that every month?  It is always particularly good when I make a vow not to buy anything....because then stuff just jumps in my face.

But I was strong....like warrior.

I am sure after you see the pictures you will think I deserve a medal or something.

Right off the bat I spied this lamp.  I felt myself getting weak.....I do love me some natural wood elements in a room.
Then I saw these....150.00 for the pair....I had to run like my hair was on fire.
Let us go straight to the pillows.  Love the Jim Thompson fabric on the first 2.....
I think this pillow was there last month....who does not like blue and white?  Don't tell me if you are that one person.  I will think you are lying.
Yikes...lucite and bamboo....perfect marriage.
Imperial Trellis....still a classic.
I think this is a Romo fabric.  My colors...

More Romo....
Purdy.
Both sold...she said she could have sold these 10 times!  Duh...
OK...had a moment here.  Flush mount.  Would have been perfect in my foyer.  195.00.  I walked.  Quickly.  Got a chocolate chip cookie instead.
I don't know...just liked them...on a mantle or in a kids room.
Me likey.  Makes such an impact on a wall.
Numbers.  I'm still loving.
Just a vignette....for ideas.
Schumacher fabric...sold.  Bleached people...remember last month.  Well I saw more of this look again.
Seriously...you can find everything at Scott's.
I know you can find these all over the internet but I loved the patina here.
You need hardware?  South building in the back.
This couple was so cute.  From Augusta and first time doing Scott's.  She has a retail store there and is going more towards re-purposing furniture.  They had some really cute stuff so if you go stop buy and say "hi"....
Ha....don't they have a look on their face like "is everybody gonna take our picture?"
These pillows are what drew me in...like that is something new:)
Good job on the chair right?
Here is their info!
Oh yes...painted with some WOW fabric.
If I had a screened in porch....I would die over this....
UpCycleTABLES@aol.com
205 356 6656
He finds the wood and his Mom makes the tables!
OK...now your talking.  Green....velvet...in great shape.  Walk fast.

I need a bathroom to renovate....at the beach preferably.  I was loving this.....450.00.  I am sure the color had a lot to do with it!
This was like $25 or $30 dollars.  Paint er up people.

There is more.....Oh you know it.

Y'all know I have 2 dogs and one is crazy.  By the way...no news on my Patches.  Univ of Georgia could not diagnose anything wrong, although they did agree it was something.  Well...what do you know....3500.00.....and nothing.  Really?  AYKM?
They want to do the test all over again.  Yes you read that correct.

Funny thing is that every one of her symptoms are gone.  So now I am left scratching my head on what to do.

Anyway, back to the crazy one.  As I am a good Mom...I walk them every afternoon.  Around the block until I get to the trail [which I then let them off-leash and hook back up at the end...to finish and walk the rest of the way home.

The trail starts at a cul-de-sac and at the house near the end [you will see in a minute] there are always tons of kids playing. The Mom's are usually  sitting around drinking wine in a plastic cup....like I can't figure that out.....not judging people.

This day I notice that they have a card table set up with food and snacks....maybe it was a Friday or something.  Celebrating the fact of making it through another week without strangling one of them.
Again...joking.

I do the usual smile and wave....the kids come over and repeat what they say every afternoon...."can I pet your dogs?".  To which I reply [like I always do] "of course".  Then we spend 5 minutes discussing which one is Patches...which one is Zipper and so on.  Groundhog day.

Now I continue on and I walk a little way into the trail  before I un-leash.  The minute I do Zipper takes off like he was spring loaded and runs as fast as he can back to the house....meanwhile I am screaming and flapping my arms like I just stepped in a pile of fire ants.

Just to give you an idea [not the actual day] this is where he is headed.  I can hear all the kids and Mom's screaming and he has grabbed a piece of pizza off the card table and starts running back like he is in the dog Olympics or something.  I am standing there with my mouth hanging open catching fly's and thinking "really.....are you kidding me?"

Of course he is done with the pizza by the time he gets back to me. I leash him up and start the walk of shame to apologize for my ill behaved dog.  How many times can I say I am sorry......about 20 apparently.

They were nice about it but I can imagine what they were saying behind my back...."look how big her butt is"......"she can't even control a dog"....."did you see how insane she looked jumping around"...."what's up with her hair anyway".

Who knows.

Oh well...just a typical day.

It's Saturday people...work it.

Sha Ray.

I think you deserve something more than a medal. Possible a massage. Or chocolate. Or wine. Or all three!

There was so much to love this month that I don't even know where to start. Probably the velvet sofa. Couldn't even handle that. Loved the the darling couple and everything they made! Going to hunt them down on Etsy.

Your posts are never boring! That is such a funny story about your dog. Love all of your Scott's pictures as usual. You crack me up describing how you must run like your hair is on fire! I may try that sometime when my willpower is low.

I always love my journey here!! WEnt from ooohing and aaahing to hahahaing!! Have a great weekend sweetie. Ours started off with a bang. Literally my car sitting peacefullly in my driveway was hit by a runaway car from the house next door. They are having a garage sale and a guy jumped out of his car, apparently not putting on the brake and the car journeyed down the court made a sharp right in reverse, I might add and rear ended my car. Wrong time wrong place, Murphy's law. I don't know what category to put this one under. Too funny, no one hurt just major damage to bumper and light. xo KS

I had time this morning to read one blog. I'm glad I picked yours - sooo laughing at your dogs and I can so picture it all. I read a book written by a gal who went blind in college and tried to get a seeing eye dog. Apparently she had the only bad seeing eye dog - she took it into McDonalds one day and it stole a lady's food off the table. So not right!
Also so not right that the blue pillow is still there - I would have snatched it up in a second!
Happy weekend Sherry!

OH, Scotts looks amazing! Steve and I are going tomorrow. That is if we recover from our DWTS (that's Drinking With The Snobs!....we know nothing about wines) party we are hosting this month for our "Pod". Expecting over 30 in our modest open concept space!!!! Yes, they call the different neighborhood in this Sun City....PODS! We are Pod People. We have changed it to Dolcetto! That's a wine grape. Fits us much better.
Hope some stuff is left at Scotts! Now, you are "strong".....walking away from that light! Don't know if I could have. Was the cookie good?
Can't believe that saga with Patches. How often do you venture out on your dog walks? By this time, you would think the neighbors would be ready for you. Good for the pizza grab!
Wonderful Post!

OOPS....Sherry I meant to mention that my favorite piece was the white painted chair with the black cushion!!! Love it.
I will search for it tomorrow. The pillows are out of this world. Want to see them for sure.
Again, thanks for the wonderful Post.

Psshaw...You totally seem like your hair would be bigger than your butt.

Your restraint on the green sofa is heroic! LOVE.

Wow....double wow. If I lived near Scott's I would have to get rid of all my clothes to make room for pillows. You and I would be BAD shopping together...unless we stayed strong. :)

Your pup is a hand full...never a dull moment. I had a nice chuckle.

Hope your Sunday is uneventful!

Your life is a story that needs to be told in a weekly sitcom. There will be no need for a laugh-track.

Going to Scott's one day is on my bucket list. Seriously...do you get light headed there? I would!!

HAHAHA! Rockn' the velvet sofa & the paisley pillows. How the heck do you show such restraint?

I loved the Scott's tour; lots of interesting goodies. As for Zipper, he was only doing what dogs do, or at least what my dog would do. I think it was THEIR fault for tempting him like that. Thanks for the laughs.

You are so d___ funny! I am laughing out loud. I'm sure they were all as sweet as pie and were saying very lovely things about your and your dog, NOT! We have all had that happen with our dogs so anyone that isn't gracious just doesn't have any manners or empathy! I think I need to move to Atlanta so I can take advantage of Scott's. I am sooooooooo jealous!

Your poor dog just wanted some pizza! I'm certain the moms were happy to have the excitement and a story to tell their friends!
As usual, I never ran into you at Scott's, must make a plan. I spent ALL day Thursday and Friday, shopping for my favorite people! Bought a table from Joshua with the found wood--Did you see the large grey one with natural edge? Unbelieveable... and they are sooo sweet, he even delivered it! Bought pillows from Robin Leonard. (who I hope feels better!) Hope to see you next month!

I dunno...so instead of apologizing you steal their plastic cup of wine...and RUN.

We can learn so much from our dogs.

Could I back up a semi to scotts? Would that be unobtrusive enough?

I wish we had a "Scott's" here but at least I can see it thru your eyes.

Speaking of crazy dogs, my daughter is off on vacation while I take care of her crazy Shitzu/Yorkie dog that she adopted from a shelter. I can see why 3 different people gave him up. I must admit although he's crazy he is funny. Gotta love what dogs bring to a person's life.

I've been thouroughly enjoying everything you post.

We went to Scott's on Saturday! Saw SOOOO many neat things and I came home with a cow. A cowhide rug that is. I LOVE it in my dining room.

Also, thanks for posting about your friend Lisa. She has scheduled a shoot for my remodeled kitchen!

Oh Sherry! :-) The fact that the kids can not recall who you are or what the dogs names are makes me think that the wine was flowing during gestation as well.

I walk by a group of Moms in our neighborhood (supervising the kids playing) who look very stylish carrying their stemmed wine glasses. (If you look stylish it's less "boozy mama".)

Wishing I could juggle the dog leash, poop bag AND my cocktail for our evening walk.

I am having trouble commending you for passing on the foyer fixture....but looking forward to seeing what you do jump on when you find IT!

Cheers!

Geeeeshh, that was funny. Walk of shame, eh? Been there. Dogs do stuff like that, like if you have a thousand acres for them to poop on, they will step right out the door, and poop right on the walk to your car, or in a house full of hardwood floors, they will deliberately walk to nearest new run and barf on it...
Anyway, i don't know how you walked away from that first lamp... and that velvet sofa... ahhhhhhh... you know it is just perfect to sit on, with the just right resistance in the cushions... look at those curves, and lines...phew, you'd have to pry me away from that one. and the old sink, loved that too...

I meant nearest RUG, not run, they will walk to the nearest new rug, and barf on it... geeesh, i can't see anymore, and need to proof read my comments!
