A little peek.....

You know how I can tell it is going to be a good day?????

Well first thing this morning I get an email from my hair salon saying that all services are 20% off today.  First come, first serve.

AND....I was going to call to get my hair colored today anyway....yee haw!

For those of you who are young and do not have to color your hair....I got nuthin to say.  Your dead to me.

Yesterday I had the kitchen curtains installed at my clients house.  The one I was working on this winter.

Remember???

Well here is the inspiration picture for the treatment over the sink...
When you open the front door and look down the hall the window over the sink is the first thing you see.
Now I am no "picture taking expert here"....so I did the best I could.  Had to climb up on a barstool and try to get a shot without it looking like a black hole.

Here is the valance.  It has a slight curve to it.

This fabric has what they call a "drop repeat".  Which in curtain terms means "you need extra fabric"...which in money terms means "$$$$$".

A small price to pay for happiness when you stand over your kitchen sink for like a third of your life.  At least right???

Here is the before view of the dining area.  And yes those bulbs are heinous....there.....caught you before you muttered it under your breath.

Here is a picture of the slipper chairs before....
And yes...I picked that fabric 20 years ago.  Again....stop snickering.  I want to see what you picked when you were all of 15.

And here is a peek of the after.  If you look closely, we used a fan pleat.  My fav.

These were not staged.....no rug yet...yada...yada...yada....
She has a lot of really colorful art and I love this one to keep it fun and not so traditional...

Baby steps.....I love these rods from Gifer [their iron collection].  This is the only site I found online  [not where I get mine].  You can get 19 ft rods that are easy for your installer to cut.  He said they are his favorite.

And I want my installer to be happy.

On another note....I saw these Suzanne Kasler lamps in Ballard's.  I went over there yesterday to preview.

Can I just tell you how awesome they are for the price???  Perfect height [they come in a tall and short], and really nice shade.  I ordered 2 cream ones for her den.

I really wanted a blue/green one but had to settle for cream.  I will probably add some blue trim to the shade.

And the last thing today my little chicas....... the winner of the giveaway is Erin....who does not blog but leaves me sweet comments all the time...:)

So there you have it.

One other little tidbit that I am sure will either make you smile or consider me a loser.  The other day when I came home from teaching my fitness class, I noticed that I had my pants on backwards.  Yup...the whole class.

Let's get through this Wednesday.....check you pants.....

I heart white kitchens and I can't wait to see the finished product. The window treatments look fab. I walked around the other day with my fly open for about 4 hours. How lovely is that?

Ha,ha, this post made me smile. Love it all. Is it possible to tell me what color is on that kitchen island? I know that was not a part of the post, but it's gorgeous.

Love, love, love all those fresh details in the area. Spending the extra money for a first-class look is always beneficial and they'll never regret it. Those big blue Buffalo checks rock! Why is it that we never know we've had our pants on backwards until we get back home? Just learn to laugh it off.

Great post! I love all the details. The drapes are amazing , love . I read that one blogger put her daughter's giant red bow in her own hair while she was buckling her in car seat. Wore it all day , shopping , children's school , saw it when she got home;0 I could pee!!! Amazing that no one ever tells us or comments privately?

I am still laughing!!! Love this post. I was shocked when my son asked me if I colored my hair....politely told him I was a natural blonde (I was born blonde, naturally) then he inquired about the dark root line.....kids!

oh i want to live on that island!!!
and I DID THE SAME EXACT THING!!! i had on my pants teaching my class and the felt snug in the butt and i thought "oh crap, i am gaining weight!" half way through class i noticed the nike swoosh that is usually over my left hip was over my right butt cheek. i asked the glass how no one noticed and decided to tell me!!!!! i finished teaching, relieved that my butt had not actually grown out of my pants, but OH MY GOSH. i was so embarassed! that is what happends when you teach at 6 am i guess.

Love the fabrics. Want that large check on the parsons chairs. I am going to have to save my pennies to get my two parsons chairs recovered.

Really great job; I love all of your choices! I want to get one of the Kassler lamps for my bedroom, in the blue I think. The floors really set off the fabrics.

I have worn tops backward/ not pants, yet!

Looks great, love the island color. I am considering repainting our own island a color, I want black my husband has a hard time visualizing and since its not a huge kitchen is afraid it will be too much, this color is beautiful.

Omg, give me those window treatments. I love them more than words. Willing to risk robbery (okay, kidding, blog police), but how spectacular, Sherry! I love your work. And as for the pants, well, it just says you have more important and lofty things on your mind -- not a bad thing :) PS I literally gasped out loud at those drapes.

Hi Sherry! I just love your blog - it makes my day! The treatment over the window is amazing. I have just finished my kitchen and had a huge window to deal with - it's a blessing and a curse having a window this size over the sink.

By the way ... I had a pair of underwear fall out of my workout pants while at Kroger. They had static clinged to the inside leg and fell out at just the most perfect moment. Yikes!

Love the soft blues you're using in your clients home and I can't wait to see the finished results.

I'm not that young but don't color my hair. I'm afraid I would be running to the salon every week since the grays are popping in faster then I can blink!

How cool that you were hired by the same folks again AND that you get to design this amazing house. If we could all pick your brain, we'd be in for an entire encyclopedia of decorating knowledge and wisdom.
