I picked these up at Scott's the other day.....3 for 25.00.
I am sure that he just made them by cutting things out of a magazine and using glue. Looks like old book pages. Why didn't I think of that????? Anyway, I scooted up to Michaels with my 40% coupon to look for something to frame them with.
Ran across these shadow boxes [3 for 10.00] but 6.00 after 40%! Score. I had some french linen left over from a chair recover. I took out the back and hot glued the linen around it. Then I used double sided tape for the "artwork"....
I think it took about 15 minutes to do the whole project.

Hanging in guest room...
Pretty cute for 31.00 total.....Hmmm....how can I make something like this with other objects? Anyone?

I have seen something like this done with old buttons - it was beautiful and I think last time I went to Scott's (a few years ago) they had a vendor selling old buttons already mounted on a heavy paper in really cool patterns! Looks great!
Thanks Kim.....I know, just seeing these made me start thinking of all kinds of possibilities!
I see a "goodwill" trip coming on! Just go to their books section and you will find tons of old books and magazines and then your creative juices will flow....
Sherry these look great and black and white anything is my favorite, these have such character. Thanks for stopping by my blog today and taking a peek at my herb pots, they are doing well so far. I am sure I can kill them if I try but since they are so cheap I will just replace them, hehe. Have a good weekend, kathysue
Those look great, Sherry! I love one of a kind art like that.
Hey, I did your bathroom feature today.
Hi Sherry
I just clicked here from Rhoda's. Saw your beautiful bathroom redo and the BHG photoshoot! Wonderful!
I love the pieces you show here. Thank you for the inspiration. I've clicked to follow, so I can keep up with you.
I'm loving these!! I'm your newest follower!
I too saw these at Scott's on Friday....I had them in my hand until an antsy husband caused me to put them down and walk away. I am so glad they found a great home. They look AWESOME!!! Next month, the husband stays home. haha
Kayla....my husband used to like to go to Scott's with me when we were first married! I am SO glad he lost interest in doing that!! I am sure that he will still have them next month and you can scoop up a few!
Love your idea, it goes with all the linen the planet is decorating with these days!
