WALLPAPER

Well this is obviously late.  But.....you know the old saying....."better late than never" haha

I actually started this post on Thursday but somehow I got distracted....saw a squirrel or maybe a whole family.....who the heck knows.  Life with ADD.

I wanted to talk about wallpaper.  Seriously y'all it's so damn back in popularity.  I remember when I started in the "biz" it cost about 15.00 a roll to install.  Well.....now it's about the cost of a car payment to get a roll installed!  Talk about inflation....

But....it can add so much to a room.  Here are some favs I picked from a few different companies.

First up is Mitchell Black

All of these are from the Mrs. Paranjape collection and I think I have posted about this collection before but I love most of them!

I so love a good horizontal stripe paper!

This one is part of the Gray Malin collection and I found it pretty cool.....

Next up are some good papers I saw on Spoonflower.  I know....I always forget to look on that site but they have a gazillion selections which is probably why as it is just too overwhelming for me :)

So who doesn't love a good dog paper?

I am loving these few just to add some texture on the walls.  Easy to hang art or add a pattern with these.

Here is another cross paper....this is a very popular pattern everywhere!

Love this pattern as it reminds me of what I used in my LR refresh below.....

This indigo is flipping awesome!  Love it.

Now we head over to Designers Guild.  Normally their patterns are way too bold for me but I found two I really like!

This black and white floral reminds me of one of my favorite bedrooms below!

This picture is so old....but I still love.

And these 2 colorways below have my name on them right!

And last one of my favorite companies that carry wallpaper....Schumacher.

Ok....this pattern.....Chenonceau is a really good one.
I have shown it so many times in presentations....

It comes in many colors....and this soft blue is a yes for me!

Another favorite pattern....Queen of Spain.  I am sure you have seen it in the black and white but I love how pretty it is in this soft blue!

Like I said earlier....love a pretty stripe.

And this pattern has me a little giddy!

Ok....who is ready to start wallpapering?  Better sell an organ for the labor....hee haw.

Any big plans for Saturday?  I need to get going if I am going to be productive today....but hey I'm not going to push it.

And who is wallpapering?  I know it got a bad rap back in the late 80's.  So hard to remove but they have figured out that to prepare the walls properly before installation really helps!

Don't be scared y'all.

Alrighty then.  I'm out.

THIS AND THAT

Quite the catchy title huh?  These last few weeks have been full of before and afters.....and I feel like I have hit the bottom of the ice cream container.  It will take time to make more:)

So I did what any self respecting blogger would do and scrolled through my pictures.  I  came up with some pretty to share with you....whew.

Here are a few things I saw while shopping for those jobs.

This rug at World Market.  You could have bound it with any other color and I would have walked on by but you slap a little blue on something and I get positively giddy.

Same with black & white!  This pillow cover at Crate and Barrel

Pottery Barn score big points with me on this duvet cover.  Dayum.  Iwantsobadly.

You remember when I found this wood table at HomeGoods and used it in a project....I saw it again just the other day [79.00].  I have seen it on Overstock for more than double the price!

I wanted to show you the other color ways that Designer Guild fabric comes in...Here is the one I used with a cream background.

This is a yellow background.

And a white background...

Love all.

At the mart Chelsea Textiles [known for their beautiful Gustavian and French Country reproductions showed us some modern pieces.

Gustavian

Country French

Mid Century Modern

Loving the handles.

And these.

A few chairs that caught my eye on the website.

 This one....

These spoke to me in a dream.....buy me please.

We are expecting a light dusting of snow...maybe 1".  That means it is panic time in the south.  I just borrowed this picture from FB from one of my friends.
I don't know about you but if I am stuck in a 1" snowstorm I do not want to exist on bread and milk.   My preference would be chocolate and wine.... the staples.  Just sayin.

Crikey people.

This is the winter that will have people dancing in the streets neked when spring finally rolls around.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Last week I gave you a little preview of this project which I installed on Wednesday.

I spent all day today returning what I didn't use.  About as fun as a sharp stick in the eye.

I have to "over buy" and sometimes when I start the process I will get something and then see something I like better…..of course.

Lord knows I don't want to be out in left field without a glove right?

No worries because I have learned that it is better to have too much than not enough.

Kind of like shoes:)

This was more pulling together that a major overhaul.  She had the furniture but needed help putting the finishing touches on the room.  The best part....no rules.  Yep another easy client.  Am I lucky or what.

Before
Lets start with this view first.  This is the RH sofa that is deep….deep like a twin bed.  Great for TV watching but it needed more pillows to sit comfortably.  I brought over some pillow forms so we could decide what it would take to make it more comfy.  This sofa has very horizontal lines and the existing pillows weren't helping.  Plus I think it needed some pattern.

Call me crazy.

Just to review..... here are the fabrics
OK...I had many request for the name of the floral fabric so here it is....Designers Guild color/Seraphina.

After

You likey?  Let's talk this over.
I added the white vases on the console to lighten that area up.   Softened it with some patterned pillows and accessorized the coffee table.

I also moved the sofa up closer to the edge of the rug.  It looked like it was off the grid and since all the other furniture was on the rug why make the sofa look like an outcast right?  Bad sofa....stay in your own corner.

The large mirrored tray was already there.  I picked up the books at a thrift store,  black glass beads from Scott's,  and the rest of the accessories came from Target, World Market, and HomeGoods.

My favorite thing is the small wooden bowl with the purple stones [owners] in it.

A few more after shots

Stripe fabric is Clark and Clark.

Before

After
I accessorized the white vases [from Crate and Barrel and Target] with Forsythia branches and tulips.

Before

She had already ordered 2 new chairs from Room and Board to replace these when we met and I suggested she add more panels from Ikea to beef up the curtains.  I think there are now 2 panels on the sides and 2 in the middle.

The taller chairs and Ikea floor lamp [previously in another area] helped add some much needed height to this space.  I also pulled out the shorter nesting table [I believe these are from Ikea] to give it more volume .

This low vase came from Target and I got the succulents from Kroger.  The candlesticks were from her collection.

You will have to come back on Monday if you want to see the rest of this makeover. And "mean Sherry" makes another appearance.

Some news here.....Thanks to Lisa my ORC is being published!  The photo shoot is next week and I'm so excited:)

Have a smashing weekend!
