THIS AND THAT

This was kind of a slow week for me....which was nice as I did not have a lot of appointments.  There was plenty of things to do on my computer and for clients....but I have to say that I rather prefer being out on appointments. It is too easy to get distracted when I am home:)
You know like having a conversation with your dog.

One thing I am excited about is getting the green basement photographed soon...just waiting on a date from the team.

Also I will be headed to Hilton Head next week for a few days.  Meeting a possible new client over there....
I don't normally do out of town jobs because of  getting a dog sitter for Cami but I could take her in a pinch since my brother lives there. I think I have mentioned before that she is not the best in the car with this very shrill whine that puts me in a bad mood.

But I love her....

So here is a piece of art that I had commissioned from my friend Vickie Sides.....

Isn't it the cutest?  I framed it out very simple....and she just used craft paper.

Here is the bathroom and of course it will get hung.  I kind of wanted to pick up on the brown raffia color in the mirror!

Speaking of art I picked up these pieces at Scott's Antique market and now I'm hot to do a room around these colors:)

I will find somebody!

Picked out this pretty Schumacher wallpaper to go in a bedroom.....She is gonna be pretty!

Did the reverse here with dark grout and white penny tile!  I really like it.....what are your thoughts?

And I picked up this little basket at Scott's.  There is nothing more I like than texture with greenery.....

I also put together this bedroom....it wasn't selected but I would like to do my guest room with everything...not gonna happen but I love the camel, browns, and creams!

And I am very excited to finish up a laundry room with this time backsplash....got some good wallpaper coming also....see below!

What does everyone have planned for the weekend?  I want to purge my closet....it needs it so badly.  First thing I have to do is order some of those hanging racks but most of the ones I see on Amazon do not get good reviews.....very flimsy.  BUT.....I don't want to get the ones form Container Store that are 100.00 either.

I figure I need 2 cause the last time I did my closet I just took everything out and put it on my bed.  And Lord....you can not mess around with that project cause it has to be addressed right away.

Otherwise you just start dumping it in bags to take to the Goodwill.....cause you are over it.

Maybe after I finish this post I will do some more research on those racks.

Time to walk Cami...the rain has stopped....

THE FINISHED POWDER ROOM

If you are on Instagram you have already seen the results of my bathroom makeover!  Let me say that it's been a while since I have had more fun with design.....

From hatching the idea and collecting the frames and art....I was obsessed with it!

Of course nothing goes off without a few hiccups that's for sure.  I was positive that the install was on Friday until Rose and I were talking Wednesday afternoon and then all of the sudden I panicked.  I texted my installer and he did confirm that I had booked for Thursday....ugh.

OMG!  So Rose kindly called her client to rearrange her appt so she could help me...gotta love a friend like that!  I also had an appt at 1:00 and guess what??

She texted me that she needed to cancel so I did not have to be stressed and in a hurry!

OK....let's get started here!

The before......in case you forgot how bland it was:)

When we got there we put all the smaller ones on the DR table and then taped off the floor so we could get an idea of things......

Then we started with the biggest wall making allowances for the toilet etc.

We started hanging from the top and you will see that after we got this wall hung we ended up hanging one even higher.

I also wanted to hang a shelf over the toilet....just to break it up a little....

Then we got ahead of ourselves and stopped to figure out which rug to use.  Ha Ha.

We liked them both but 2 things....the larger one was too close to the toilet....if you know what I mean...wink wink.  And we felt like the smaller one was more neutral and there would already be so many focal points in the room!

So there you have it in the rug department!

Moving on....

Detail shots!  Mind you I have not gotten a plumber over there yet to change out the faucet!

At the last minute I decided I wanted a cross in the mix and I thought that would be easy to find.  Nope.  So I popped into a very tiny thrift store and found this one for 4.00.  Moral of the story....don't give up!

Very hard to get pictures in this space!

I am still so pleased with my mirror find....just enough bling for this space....

Loving this vintage shelf I found at Antiques and Beyond a few days before install!

I am trying to give you shots of all the art....this is the wall to the right when you walk in....

Rose and I both thought it would be good to break up the art with a mirror, turtle shell, the cross and the basket!

I can't wait to get the faucet changed out....but dang I think it's pretty epic!

Trash can, hand towels, infuser on the shelf and kleenex box from BD Jefferies.

Hope you enjoyed the tour and I gave you some inspiration.

Love you guys!

UPDATING A BORING POWDER ROOM

Hey y'all....happy fall!  Today I might actually be able to wear a sweater here in Atlanta.....

Let's just dive right in......I am going to share my thoughts on updating this plain ordinary powder room and what I am going to do with it to make it "sing"......:)

Here she be....typical builders blah powder room!  It has high ceilings and that is about it!

Here comes the paint!

I went with BM Wrought Iron....I was going to go with SW Tricorn Black but it just seemed to severe to me so I changed it at the last minute....

The faucet was an inexpensive Delta so I am swapping it out with the same brand but in a satin gold color and I also ordered a new light fixture.

I struggled over what finish to order the light fixture in but decided to go with the dark bronze....I know a lot of the art has gold frames so I had to put the breaks on the gold....haha!

I went to my favorite flea market....Antiques and Beyond here in Atlanta and after finding 4 different mirrors I stumbled on this one and knew immediately I found the perfect one!

So next up is the art.  I wanted to do all kinds of art so I started hunting for vintage frames at many flea markets....as you know the frames are the most expensive part and it would have cost a mint to have them all custom framed!

I scored all of these in one day from a few different places!

I bought some art at Scott's Antique Market!

I also bought quite a few pieces from this amazing artist at Scotts.  You can find her on Instagram @vsidesart

This is some of the art from my first haul.....

I am at the frame shop here trying to decide which art goes in which frame and picking out the matting....

Sometimes if I like a frame but it has ugly art in it I will still buy!

I picked these up at the framers yesterday!  SO EXCITED!!

I used the Fast Frame here in Atlanta on Piedmont Road.

Still need to find a small vintage rug for this space...hope to secure this today!  The art install is Friday so stay tuned on Instagram for some pictures in Stories.....

I have to say that this client is amazing....every time I text her something her reply is "whatever you think"!  I mean dream client right!

OK....Cami has nudged me about 5 times wanting her walk.....so I must run!

Hope you all are having a wonderful week.....mine has been a bit difficult but I am trying to stay focused on the good things and I always know there are so many people who are struggling more than I am.

Always.

THIS AND THAT

Well....thanks for the love y'all.  I don't plan on quitting....unless I get so old there are like 3 people left reading haha.  Seriously though I really do still enjoy it!

Today....just a little this and that!

Update on my knee.  It's been 2 weeks and it's getting better which I am so relieved about.  I walked with my neighbor last night a couple of miles and it was good.  It still hurts a little going down and up stairs.

I have also been busy cleaning out and giving my office a small makeover.  Whew......so much stuff accumulated.

Last weekend I went over to Sudi's with my friend Rose [she is helping to decorate her new condo].
It's looking really good!

She had this chair recovered and I adore the shape and the boucle fabric!

And Rose's husband installed this bedroom light for her....Circa Lighting

We lifted the bed and between all of us managed to lay down her rug!

The bedroom is coming along and will be beautiful!

I finally went to the Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Holiday Showhouse before it closed.

This porch was all black and white goodness!

What about all of this ceiling detail?

New artist alert!  Caleb Mahoney which can be found in Atlanta at Greg Irby Gallery

This room by Courtney Giles was a fav.  Blue and camel are 2 of my favorite colors to use together!

Layer up people!

I posted these on Instagram but they are a few of my favorite lamps that I see occasionally at Homegoods.

And I bought this selection of wrapping paper for the farm!

I had this whole fashion post started but I didn't finish it so I am going to share the crux of it with you:)

I am sure you have noticed that white boots are trending!  I put together some for you to check out!

Clockwise....

I got mine over Thanksgiving from Nordstroms [All Saints] where they were 30% off and I had a gift certificate to use.  I would not normally spend this much:)

But....I do like how they look!
Thoughts?

Here are a few other looks lately from my #OOTD on Instagram stories!

Guess what!  One of my favorite designers Eileen Fisher sent me some clothes [after seeing me wear so many of them]!  I about died because I love her classic looks! In the first picture...the sweater [can't find on the website anymore] and scarf!  The above coat which is amazing!

Again with the scarf and the gray "high low" sweater.

The small crossbody black bag!

Can you even?  I have bought her things over the years but always on sale!  I gotta tell you though I still wear them today!

So that's it people!

16 days until Christmas....I am trying to get in the spirit....it's a bit of a struggle for me.....
