PINK DOORS

Lord I can go down a rabbit hole when I get obsessed about something.  The other day I was at Hedgewood Homes community called Manchester and came across this little beauty.

Holy smokes I just about died and had to pull myself away....lest the owner might call the authorities to have me removed.  It's no fun when people read about you in the news and it's because you did something stupid right?

Pam was sweet enough to give us the color......the outside dark color is SW Black Fox.  I am kind of scared to tell my husband I want to replicate this on our house.....it might be the end of me.  If there is no post on Friday then you know it didn't go well.......

Here is the same color.....doesn't look a bit like the door right?

I remember seeing this on her Instagram page.....

Her inspiration.

And how it looks.....

I think you know where I am going with this.....PINK DOORS.

Of course pinterest and instagram are loaded with images that are seriously drool worthy so I grabbed some to feed my obsession.

I adore the dark with the pale pink.....

I mean....could you die?

Here are a few of my favorites!

Here is a little mid century pink for you!

Which one is your favorite?
I NEED SOME PINK IN MY LIFE

Without even thinking about this post I took these images yesterday at ADAC in the Schumacher showroom!

There you have it.....a small look into my recent obsession.

BEFORE AND AFTER

We are finishing up our stay at the beach and headed home to Atlanta today.  We got a lot done and if you think this was a vacation....well it didn't feel like it:)

There was about 2 days where I just sat on my butt.....the 31st and the 1st.  I can blame myself a little.....that curse of not being able to relax!

Anybody else like that?

I happened to be looking over at a brown cabinet under the TV and decided that it needed to be white.  I had already taken the doors off and tried to accessorize a little but just wasn't feeling it.

Here is the outcome....followed by the before pictures!

After.....

Now let me show you why I did it!

The waaaaaay before.......

Doors off....attempt at talking myself out of painting it:)

Nope....just not feeling it!

 It took 4 coats.....crikey.

I was definitely re-thinking my decision.

So much better!

I found most of the stuff at Target, HomeGoods and a few thrift stores.

So much better right?

Our unit is listed on VRBO 68020 [where you can see availability and check prices] but if you want to save the new VRBO fees you can email my husband direct at dkhiggins70@mac.com

Of course while I was at Target they were scraping Christmas and  putting out all the spring stuff!

You might have seen some instastories....

Target went long and deep with the pink!

Amazing.....

Target you are such an inspiration!

And that is the truth.....
OK.....gotta get packed up and hit the road!

PINK

I was so happy last weekend not having a mile long list looming over my head!  And seriously.....every morning when I walk out to my kitchen I smile 'cause I'm a happy girl and feel so lucky to have such a beautiful space to not cook in:)

Of course the fun is over and I am back to work trying to play catch up.  This whole post started when I saw an ad in a magazine for Lacefield Designs new pillows!

They were this blushy mauve color....

Did I miss something?  Is it back?

I know Pantone tried to bring it back a while ago and I seem to remember that we were all standing around scratching our heads.....

I did see these rugs which were slightly more pink!

That got me looking for "pretty in pink" rooms and accessories.

Nothing like a good rabbit hole to get me distracted!

I saw these at Wisteria....on deep gray walls maybe?

I think my favorite pairing with pink would be grays and greens.

I saw this door and swooned.....

The color of this house did the same thing:)

Which then prompted me to search for a few grown up rooms using pink that I could live with....

Funny how I started out with mauve and ended up with pink....

I couldn't find many.....but THEN I SAW THESE....

Now your talking....Jayne Mansfield's house in Life Magazine.

Shagalicious!

But wait....hold the door people cause I stumbled across this bunch of prettiness!

Suzanne Kasler nailed it.  I could definitely hang in this room with what she described as "shell pink".

I can stop now.

Enough talk about pink.  Gotta walk Cami and get to work!
