A LITTLE BEFORE AND AFTER....

I am not sure how July 1st arrived so fast....but here we are!  Who has big celebrations for the 4th?  I have none.....maybe binge something or just hang out with my bestie....Cami:)

I've been getting things done lately with some jobs.  I thought I might catch you up on a few updates.

I am working on a condo in a high rise building....which is a change for me but here is the kicker!  The vibe is "modern glam".....yes I know.  When you think of my esthetic I am sure that is the first thing that comes to mind right:)

But hey....nothing says stretch you design wings like the complete opposite of what you are used to doing right?  So of course I was up to the challenge.

Above is the guest room but it has the best image of what the design was like when she bought the place!  Those floors HAD to go.  They were....I don't know...beachy or lake house or really anything other than modern glam right!

Above is the living area BEFORE.....

New floors were installed and the whole place painted [the walls were very white...think an almost blue white]...so we softened them up!

Sorry for the mess...but this was after the furniture was delivered and we had a pretty chandelier installed.  I also had this art reframed....

And this was right before I had the wallpaper installed.....

Let's just skip to the good part!
Wallpaper and art hung

Rug installed also!

So curtains are next and I am kind of excited for that part because nothing says luxury like custom curtains!

Of course it needs some accessorizing which is in the works.

Next Wednesday Rose is helping me to install the bookcases and I have been shopping like a mad women.  I love doing that part....actually we both so so it will be a fun time!

Stay tune for the before and after....

I hope y'all have a wonderful holiday with family, fun and  food!

I am out the door to look for more accessories for the bookcases.....

THIS AND THAT

I don't know how it got to be Sunday again....to be honest I have been struggling with writing my blog lately.  It is hard to pretend that everything is always hunky dory....and sometime I feel like when I read it over....it sounds a little forced...

I am sure y'all don't notice it.  I can tell that I have a little  "low grade" depression and it feels like I need to save all of my energy for work because I have to do that!

I am sure it will pass....as I just keep plugging along because as I have said before and as trite as it sounds TIME is the great healer.

OK....here is whats up.

I started the Netflix series called The Serpent.  Now to be honest I called my sister after episode one [she had already finished it] and said should I keep going?

But she assured me that it would be good so I plowed into episode 2.  She was right.  I have finished 5 episodes now and I want to go in there and finish it but I also want something to watch tonight so I am holding off.  I will tell you that it moves back and forth through some years but you will figure that out pretty quickly.

It is based on a true story and the music and fashion was a draw for me!

Next up is this little situation I purchased from a flea market to go in a loft area for a client.  Since the wait time is so long for upholstery...I thought to go in another direction!  I can not wait to put this area together!

Just think rug and accessories....etc!

At the same house I had the runner installed and it looks so darn good!  It is by Stanton.

So classic....looks like a mans tweed suit.

I was at Kravet last week searching for fabrics and they had a new wallpaper book.  It also has matching fabrics.

They are all drawn by a little boy who has autism...I mean how cute are those giraffes anyway.

Y'all know how much I love my coffee table which is similar to this wood [not shape] and I saw this one at a flea market the other day....swoon!

I also saw this great hand painted lamp...I am assuming. Stunning.

Here is what has been keeping me up at nights....and that is putting together a lighting plan.  If y'all think this is easy I am here to say nope.

I always want a good mix of gold....dark and silver.  Plus you have to figure out which ones will all be in a site line so that it doesn't look busy.

And one more thing...I am excited to be using this wallpaper....

I know...who am I?  I mean this is every color in the book!

Oh but wait there is one more thing.  Take a seat for this one because surprise....it is about cooking.  I have made this soup/stew about 10 times.  To the point where I can get the ingredients from memory.

There you have it.  Just random thoughts and events but hey it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I'm not quitting but just know that my post might be sporadic for a bit.

FRIDAY THIS AND THAT

I figured instead of not posting like I did last Friday I would just go ahead and throw together some randomness of my week....

Normally I have more design work going but lately it has just been building stuff and seeing a bunch of framing is not really that exciting right!

I think I have mentioned before that I had like 30 bathrooms to pick out tile, vanities, lighting and plumbing for and I am happy to say I'm on the home stretch!

Well I have been moving forward with them all and I'm almost finished.  If I have to scroll lighting websites one more time.....haha

Let's start with my house.....I had my front yard cleaned up.....meaning pull out my dead boxwoods [sad....there is a blight that is killing them] and had a few flower beds planted with some pine straw put down.

I am sorry to say that the last few years I have not paid much attention to the outside....

Thanks to that massive oak tree I can't get any grass to grow.  The canopy  covers my whole yard!
I know somebody will ask....my house is painted BM China White and the shutters are BM Kendall Charcoal.

It's a little like making your bed....even though there are some messy parts of the bedroom....it always looks better after you do that!

That little concrete lamb has been sitting there for 20 years and it's covered in moss.  I'm OK with that!

So my friend Cindy over at Rough Luxe Lifestyle Blog did a post about this Target dress and linen wrap....Y'all it was so cute that I ordered them both!  I mean 19.99 for the dress and I think 24.99 for the wrap!

I did a mini version.....and actually wore that sucker 3 days in a row!

I needed some white shorts so I cut off an old pair of jeans.....

The dress is a pretty simple black knit and I probably would not wear it without the wrap.....you know my old arms and such:)

You can find the links on her blog!

After telling you that framing is not that exciting....here I am posting.  But....only to show you this project that I am picking out lighting for!

When you walk into the foyer you can see the family room, island and dining room.  Yeah....what does that mean?

That you can also see 4 light fixtures!

So it is important to make sure they flow.  This couple fell in love with the mercury glass bell jars I used over at Friar Tuck so we started with those....

Here is where we finally landed with some pretty Circa Lighting fixtures and I am pretty happy with it!
Another fabulous project by Ladisic Fine Homes.

And it was time for Cami to have her summer cut...

She is very snuggly when she doesn't have hair so that is the best part!

OK Y'all....what are your plans for the weekend?  I might scoot down to Madison and hang with my neighbors.  They will be leaving in 2 weeks to spend 4 months up in Nantucket and I am really going to miss them.  I think they feed me 3 x's a week.

Who's out and about?  Who is still scared?  I'm in the middle....I might not go to a theme park but I will go to dinner and stores.

CURREY AND CO LIGHTING

Lord I feel like a broken record....you know....hang in there....we got this....yada yada yada.

IT'S JUST CRAZY

Period.  That's it.  I got no more words of encouragement.

Really it is such a hassle to go somewhere with:
mask....check
gloves.....check
hand sanitizer....check

I feel like when I get hungry I'll just go in the backyard and get some grass and stuff....put enough butter on it and I'm good.  I mean right?

So let's see....what do I have today?

Since I am working on 3 renovations I have done nothing but lighting, plumbing and tile..... as I have mentioned.

Today I thought I would let you in on some of my favorite Currey and Co lights.  They are a Georgia company....family owned so I feel a little kinship to them.

The first one is the Saxon Chandelier.  It's huge and don't let the style fool you....when it's hung it can really make a statement!

This image was the first time I saw it used.  I tried to find the source.

This is my second favorite the Brussels Chandelier.  I have loved it ever since Jill Sharp used it over her kitchen island in Charleston.

Next up is the Ringmaster Chandelier.  I used this one in Michaels Ladisics living room and it is a show stopper.

I recently used these pendants over the island at my Madison project and fell in love!

Nobody loves a rattan fixture more than me and this one is no exception.  I used it in a large vaulted family room and it's a stunner when lit!

I have the sconce version of this pendant and after 4 years still LOVE them.....

Now for a few I have not used but keep trying!

Digging the white chandelier trend!

The Albion Chandelier

The Trilling Chandelier

And a WHITE basket chandelier.....well hubba hubba!

Here are a few pendants that I keep going back to!

The Breakspear Pendant

The Ocracoke Pendant

Colwyn Pendant

The Jazz Pendant

The Clifton Pendant

I saw this one in the showroom and let me tell ya it's a stunner!

The Daze Pendant

These are tough times for retail.  I am blessed to have these jobs and I always want to support my Atlanta businesses.

I am off to walk Cami and then help a sweet client design a kitchen for her new home!
