FASHION

Can it be Friday already?  I kind of had a 2 day work week and it was pretty nice.......although it does nothing for my 10 page "to do" list.

So fall fashion....I did a lot of my purchasing back on Labor Day weekend so I am slowing pulling out things muttering "holy cow I bought some stuff...."

But y'all know I like to keep it basic and pretty simple so there isn't much thought process when pulling things to wear.

When I was getting my outfits together for the 7 events [House Beautiful sponsor parties] it was black and white and variations of black on black HA HA!

Matthew Quinn remarked "Oh hi Sherry....more #blackandwhite....?  Why yes Matthew there is enough color in this house so I want to stand out :)"

Just saying....

So here we go.....

I bought 2 of the Teddy sweaters at J Crew Factory [buy one get one free!] while in Florida.  The green earrings and small clutch are from Banana Republic...as are the pants!  This is a great day to night with the addition of the green don't cha think?

A little more shopping in Florida at J Crew Factory!  The puffer vest in black and the loafers [which are very comfy!] I bought the tortoise earrings from J Crew and were only 19.50!

Denim shirt is from J Crew Factory and pants  [which I have] and bag are from Banana Republic

OK....this one is pretty easy too! The sweater is from J Crew Factory, and the black coat, the scarf  the earrings are from J Crew.  The shoes and pants are from Banana Republic....always wait for the sale!

What is hotter than booties this fall?  I mean....
The black sweater coat I bought last year at J Crew Factory and I might need to get another as I have it on heavy rotation! Bag, jeans, t shirt, booties....thinking hard about these!

And this one might scare you....

Yes.... I bought at DSW.  It wasn't much of an investment as they are quite trendy right!  And....then I had to research to actually see the best way for me to wear them cause I was a little worried.  I know what you are thinking.

I'm too old.  Nah.....I'm going for it!

I tried on a furry jacket and it was ridiculous.  Not for me.

Then I saw this on LIKE to KNOW it Fashion_Jackson.  I think I can pull this one off.

I ordered the coat....I had some credits and decided to take back another coat I had purchased so I wasn't out that much!  The sunglasses....the jeans....the purse

I'll let you know when the coat arrives and we will discuss.  I did wear them last night to meet my sister and her husband for dinner with jeans, white t shirt, and a leather jacket.  I felt pretty good until my sister started singing...."these boots are made for walking....."

And laughed.

Hot damn we made it to Friday!  I for one am giddy with that fact:)

I finally got it together to do a small fashion post....well it's nothing earth shattering..... but spring and summer are just around the corner and there are some things that I find myself buying over and over.

What that means is.....at my age I have narrowed it down to a color palate that allows me not to spend too much on clothes.

No secret there right?  Neutrals sprinkled with some black and white.

You have heard me preach about this before so hang with me for a minute.  Jeans.....black, white and blue.  My staples for everyday wear.  What's better than going to the Gap and loading up on these to get me through the next few seasons.

I bought these cute ankle flare jeans and I plan on cutting the hem off for a more casual look!  Since they are cheap it's no big deal when I'm tired of them:)

I also bought the sleeveless T in every color.  I'll be happy when it's 90 degrees here in Georgia!

White jeans are pretty much what I wear almost everyday in the summer.  I can dress them up or go more casual.  If you don't have a denim shirt you need to get one because they are great for layering.

Look at me getting all bossy.

The white section in my closet is the largest!

Surprise huh!

Every year I go through my t shirts and discard any that have spots on them and just replace with new ones.  And I definitely need that cute black and white bag right!

So you are now thinking that I am a pretty cheap shopper but we are forgetting one small detail.....

SHOES!  Yeah.....something you can always buy when you don't feel like trying on clothes!

I have all of these below....

All from Nordstroms.

I love these with anything!

I just bought these and they are definitely on heavy rotation!

I bought these [on sale] and from day one they are so incredibly comfortable.  I wish they still had the black in my size.

I have all of these also:)
From Nordstroms.

I just recently bought these to add a little fun to my wardrobe.....I don't often wear heels but loving that block heels are in style.

I have these from last year and now they come in suede.

I bought these because I have always loved the classic feel of a loafer and this modern version will look great when I want to be just a little more professional!

These are in my cart right now!
From Nordstroms.

I'm thinking these would look good with white jeans....not as harsh and black.

These just look incredible comfy and when the temps get really hot in Atlanta I'll need some openness!

How cute!  I think we all need a little blush in our life!

If I pretty much wear all of these why are there so many shoes in my closet?  Every time I start to weed them all out I get  nervous like I can't just have 9 pairs of shoes.....what kind of girl would I be?

So Sunday is my birthday.  Apparently middle age is from 45-65 and I guess 66 is "old age".....WTF.

Crikey I am not happy about this at all. I'm not gonna lie or sugarcoat it.....getting old sucks.

There I said it.

SUMMER FASHION

The weather is changing and I have cute summer clothes on my mind.  I might have said this before but spring only last a hot minute here in Atlanta.

One second we are wearing long sleeves and the next we are sweating.......taking scissors to those sleeves.

I have purchased a few things lately and I discovered a new brand of jeans that rocked my world!  You are probably wondering how that may be but I have a small waist and a rather generous behind so when I find good fitting jeans I want to spread the world:)

I've got some good news y'all......I'm leaving for Boulder on Sunday to consult on another house!

I am pretty darn excited with so many ideas in my head that I can't wait to share with you and them!

More on that project later cause today I have a fashion post.  What?  Yep......now that the holidays are over all the stores are pushing some great spring clothes!

It's no secret that I like to dress similar to my decorating style which means a good foundation sprinkled with a few trends to keep it relevant....:)

Take a look.....

Starting at Banana Republic because I think they consistently update their basics and have a reasonable price point.  Plus 40% off on a regular basis right!

Win....win.

Last year I bought some white flair jeans at the end of the season on sale.  These shoes have a block heal so I can wear them [3 hour window for sure though!] and I found those cute earrings at Club Monaco for 30% off right now!

Since most days I am pretty casual this outfit appeals to me!

I saw some camo sneakers at Club Monaco for over 300.00 and thought I know I can do better that that!  These are Keds and I will be ordering!

More casual wear because that is definitely 80% of my wardrobe!

Let's circle back to the white flair jeans......love this top and the blue bag!

Again.....jeans because it's a no brainer.....

I love everything on this page and that Iphone cover is definitely on my list!

A few other things I liked.....
This Club Monaco black shirt cause it could definitely dress up the white flair jeans!

And there you have it!  Maybe some shopping this weekend?

I'm in the final season of Mad Men....[I think I have 5 left] and the depression is setting in.  Even though I want to slap the hell out of Don Draper saying "get it together dude".....I'm gonna miss him.

NEW YORK

What a trip!

First of all let me just say I am not fond of flying.  I believe I have put that out there a few times before.

Here is the scenario.  Thunderstorms coming home and me grabbing a complete strangers arm during turbulence [who was about 25 years old].  You can draw your own conclusion as to what she was thinking......but I am sure it was along the lines of "crazy weirdo better let go of my arm".

Here's where it started....me with my comfortable shoes on from UGG which I found at Nordstrom's.  Stripe bag from at Gap on sale for 10.00.  I couldn't find it on their website anymore:(

The booth.....which Rose and Sudi had to set up on Saturday.  I swooped in on Sat night just in time for dinner.  Good planning on my part huh:)

She had some pretty ones right?

Steve Mckenzie's water color prints exclusive for Sudi.

After we got there Sunday morning I took off for a while to walk the isles.....9 miles of them!

It was like I imagined heaven might be.

One of the first places I stumbled across was Canopy Designs Ltd.

Holy Christmas....I almost needed oxygen.

That green one gave me the chills.  They are a boutique lighting company based in NYC where most everything is manufactured.  Merrie Shinder has been in business since 1993 and has a retail store on East 59th Street in Manhattan.

How about this gem.....
Remember when Amber used it in a DR project.

Here is another Canopy Design used in a space.
Peppermint Bliss

We went to a great place for dinner Sunday night.  Le Relais de Venise
Yum x's a 100.  All they serve is steak, french fries and a salad.

Rose, Sudi and me.

I left the show on Monday at 2:00 and arrived at the gate by 4:00.  My flight wasn't until 6:00 but everybody freaked me out about traffic.  Of course it was 2 hours late so that made for a long time at JFK.  Lucky for me I got to hang out in the Crown Room and eat a gazillion chocolate chip cookies.

Here is a picture of me in my sugar high......

Why does my hair looks like Bob's Big Boy.

I have so much more to share.  At least 8 more vendors that were new to me!

Talk later.

FASHION

Before we get to the meat of this post can we talk about husbands for a minute?  Specifically husbands and driving.

Yeah.....I'm gonna go there.  WTH.  It's like when I turn around and look at him in the drivers seat he is wearing a helmet and a number on his shirt.  I feel like I should be sitting in a cage for protection.  I am always saying...... when he decides to get to the "front" of the line of every car within a 10 mile radius.....OK....I bet you taught that guy a lesson.  He is probably going to turn his life around and be a better driver now.

You can bet on that.

OK....just needed to vent for a minute.

My nephew is getting married in July and I have been stressing about what to wear.
I want to be comfortable.

Here is where I started....

This dress from Nordstrom's
I really liked it but I started thinking I might need a lot of undergarments [think spanks] to pull it off.

Spanks=not comfortable.

Same with this little number by DVF at Nordstrom's.

Then I came up with the crazy idea that I could pull off some pretty black pants and a nice top.  That way I could wear them separately again.

The girl helping me brought me these St John palazzo pants. They were on major sale.
But....they were a size 6 and I really need an 8. Think spanks again.  Plus...I just felt like they were too dressy.  More "black tie".

This Parker top was really pretty with them and it had a fun back.

So.....I made one more cruise through the racks.

I found these.  On sale!
Linen...perfect size and oh so comfortable.

And this Rebecca Taylor Die Cut Lace top. [Looks like it is no longer on the web site].
Now before you get all crazy and say "WHAT....a crop top?".  Have you lost your mind?  Do you know how old you are......

The pants have a really high waist so there is no skin showing.  Swear.

Jewelry....I will probably wear my hair back in a low pony so then I can wear some dangly earrings.  Love these from Stella and Dot.

With a few bracelets...both from Stella and Dot.

These shoes I scored at DSW from Rachel Zoe on sale!

So dang comfortable with a cute little heel.
I could also wear a necklace and no bracelets.....

I'm set now.  The good thing is that everything is interchangeable....and can be worn again.

Allrighty then....hope you guys have a kick ass weekend.

Cami got her summer buzz cut.....she wants to know if it makes her nose look bigger :)
