WINDOW TREATMENTS

Thanks for all the feedback on my recent install....and I know the most asked question is about the carpet.  Well....I wish I could give you the information.  Unfortunately they code the info on the back of the sample so I can't "shop" them....

The best thing you can do is go to a place where they sell carpet and show them the picture.  I am sure you can find the same goods.  It is 100% polyester.

I think someone wanted to know the color of the walls....BM Seapearl.  And the small table is from Currey and Co.  The upholstered furniture is from Charles Stewart and all covered in performance fabric.  The credenzas are from Universal Furniture.

Here I am again trying to crank out a post before I have to leave and walk "queenie".  If I was a better blogger I would do my post at night but hey.....my train of thought is crappy after working all day.

So we will keep it short and tight this AM.....

I have some pictures of window treatments that were installed at my project yesterday.  They haven't closed yet but it will be nice to have privacy on their first night in their new house....

This house is actually in my neighborhood and is another home built by Ladisic Fine Homes.  The architect was Linda MacArthur.

This is the large window in the master bathroom....but definitely needed some privacy.

And this is the master bedroom

Here is the outside view!

I chose a sheer and we doubled it for privacy.....

This shot was actually taken before they were dressed.....

In the master we are doing a double curtain.  Sheers for the daytime and then blackout for night!

This install took all of 5 hours.....with steaming and dressing them......

The rods are french returns which means they don't have finials and just return into the wall.

Since the homes are close in my neighborhood you need some privacy even during the day!

Into the foyer....

Again.....this will block the view of the house next door but still let in light!

These hadn't been steamed yet....but you get the picture:)

And......scene.

Dunzo.

Happy Halloween!  Some of my best childhood memories are Halloween.  I grew up in Myers Park, Charlotte and my Mom would dress up and decorate our garage like a haunted house and all the neighborhood kids would go through it that night!  This was back when you didn't buy costumes!   My Mom actually made every holiday a production.....long before it was "trendy"....

So long kids....

BEFORE AND AFTER

Lord....I have all these clients that like to meet first thing in the morning....which on the days I blog is a bit of an issue.  So I am going to try and whip through this because "you know who" will be pretty mad if she does not get her walk this morning:)

Last week I had the 2 installs on the renovation that I worked on for about a year.  We did the kitchen first and then on Thursday I tackled the family room.

This client has 3 boys and a dog so needless to say everything had to be performance!  And.....I did not accessorize like I normally would because of that fact.....

Let's get right to it....

Here are some before shots.....

This area had 2 large walls which left me scratching my head a little.....

But I decided on 2 credenzas for storage.

Above are pictures lights and there will be art....

The rug is also performance.....

Here is the room after all the furniture was installed....2 sofas, large coffee table, 2 ottomans and a chair and ottoman in the corner.

With a few accessories.....

This corner....although you can't see the TV is for when they are entertaining.  They also have a media room downstairs for movie watching.....

Remember I did the porch a few weeks ago and the doors separating the rooms stack back to allow for it to almost be one large space!

One of may favorite coffee tables....from Woodbridge.

Can't wait to get the art and lighting installed over the storage chest!

Sofa table from Bernhardt Furniture

This room is very neutral.....with pops of green....my kind of space:)

All of this took much planning for how they live and will use the space.  Instead of builtins I picked the 2 credenzas for storage.  The good thing about that would have been too many bookshelves that have to be filled with accessories.  Sometimes you can get a cleaner look without them!

My my....look at the time.  I have 30 min to get ready and 15 min to walk the queen....haha.

KITCHEN INSTALL

Well people....it was quite the week.....2 room installs and and curtain install gone wrong.  Not earth shattering but all kinds of hardware problems with shipping of wrong finishes.

My installer said it is getting more common....as they don't have enough people to fill the orders.  Supply chain going wrong!

But....the amount of shopping I had to do for accessories but exhausting for sure.  I've said this before but you have to practically overbuy 3 times what you will need.

Blah Blah Blah.....it's part of the gig and hey that is what I signed up for:)

On Tuesday I had the kitchen install.  After 3 months everything finally arrived so they were anxious to have a place to sit and eat!

I worked on this renovation with Ladisic Fines Homes all spring and summer.  Architects were Pritchett Dixon

The cabinets are SW Mindful Gray.  I had the table custom made because of the space between the island and eating area was tight!

When we were in design meetings I had the idea to put open shelves here.....just for breathing room.

A custom hood and custom leather barstools from Charles Stewart.

This was a renovation so the ceiling differences made a nice place to tuck the dining area in.

I was really pleased with my choice of seating.  The Woodbridge cane chairs mixed with a pretty Charles Stewart settee.....

I used the same leather from the barstools with a fabric back for softness.....

Here is a picture of the chairs without the cushions.....

The porch behind the kitchen is the cooking area with a grill.

I used some of her items and just augmented with a few pieces from Homegoods and Crate and Barrel.

Countertops are a quartz.....Caesarstone Calcutta Nuevo

Beautiful hand made walnut table.....

Closeup of the stools.

Cute Circa Lighting sconce.....

In this picture you can see how the kitchen relates to the family room......

There is nothing more exciting that seeing how it all comes together.  It's not uncommon for me to sit around and second guess everything after three months of thinking about it:)

I am always conscious of how people live.  They have 3 very active boys and a dog.  Everything had to be durable and I tried not to accessorize too much.  I had the table custom made for size..... but I  also chose a hard wood like walnut and since it is solid wood.....the top can always be refinished in the future!

I'm pretty stoked that it is Friday.  Cami and I have big plans.....just to hang around.

The other night we went over to my neighbors for dinner.....it was SO good!

My boo....

Alrighty then.....pictures of the family room next week!

Rock your weekend kids!
