PROJECT UPDATES

I'm pretty psyched that it's Friday!  It was a long HOT week here in Georgia......and after riding around all day for work.....I am arriving home exhausted.

Normally I would walk Cami around 4-5 pm and I'm having to wait until 7:30-8 because of the heat!

I also tried a new workout yesterday and whoa....I am feeling it this morning.

I think I will mix this in with my Orange Theory and spinning for some variety.

I have a few updates for you today on 2 projects.  It seems like once all the basics like furniture, rugs and lighting are in place it's the art that will help to define the space.

It usually takes some time to figure out what that should be.

For one project I turned to my friend Linda Donahue.

Here is the space!

And here is what will be going on the wall above.

I am SO EXCITED!!!!

Some of Linda's other work that can be found on Etsy.

I have been a big fan of her work for many years.

For the same project the powder room got wallpapered and it was a game changer.

You can see it has a slight metallic feel.....

In another project I found an artist who's work I have fallen in love with....Scott Herr.

Here is the dining room....all white with this gorgeous Circa Lighting chandelier.

This 4ft by 6ft beauty is going on the one solid wall....

I love all of his work....

I'm pretty pumped about both of these projects and can't wait to finish and get them photographed!

I mentioned that Cami was sick and got the news that peach pits contain cyanide....[WTH?] so after making some custom dog food [which did not seem to help this time] I headed to the vet.
X ray's and blood work showed nothing but he said it was probably acid reflux.

OK.....

Pepcid at night before bed for 10 days.   Seems to be working.

Could have bought a designer purse for what that cost me.

Oh yeah...a couple of Netflix shows we have blown through....

Gypsy and Shooter

I have decided that Ryan Phillippe is kind of hot.

Both are very different shows.

THIS AND THAT

I hope you guys had a relaxing holiday break.....3 day weekends need to be the norm right:)

I don't have much today....seems like I am in the middle of all my projects with half finished shots but I will share....cause I am that desperate :)

Speaking of desperate....I totally need to get a keratin treatment as this rain has reminded me I was not blessed with smooth beautiful hair.

Crikey.....

Here are a few shots of progress....

This gorgeous Currey & Co mirror was installed over a bar cart.

DESIGN PLAN PART 2

Allrighty then….on the last post I showed you the dining area of a new project.

Today we are hitting the living area.

Have to keep it short and sweet because there is shopping to do at Scott's today:)

Here is the space as it is now…..a beautiful new construction.

There is not enough seating for this young family.

Here is the plan….

We are actually doing 2 sofa's.  One regular size and one apartment size in an L shaped.  That means only one wing chair which will be a swivel/rocker.

The console will go behind the larger sofa as there is good space for it.  Still playing with navy [from the dining area] but now adding in more of the aqua blue and touch of coral.

Quick review….here are the fabrics for the dining area.

And what I've chosen for the family room.

I would like to do a navy sofa, the apartment sofa in the top fabric and the wing chair in the herringbone.

Then "pillow up" that whole room!
I love that the stripe has a touch of the coral in it.

Over the mantel I chose another of Linda Donahue's gorgeous art.

It's no secret I love her work.  #obsessed

So there we have it.  It is always interesting to see the inspiration and how it actually turns out right?

In other news I was at Scott's yesterday and scored these for a client.

Oh mommie I want for me.

And for the same client I have been looking for pretty plates to go over the sofa.

Look at these I found at Pier One!

So pretty huh?

I am feeling so blessed this year with wonderful trusting clients:)  It makes my job so much easier.

It is a Christmas party weekend for Sherika.
One of those dang cookie parties….and you know what that means.

Yup.  I might have to use my stove or oven.  I think I used it last year for the same party to make these bad boys.

Easy Button.

You can't really mess them up.  The hardest part is unwrapping all of the Rolo's and not popping too many in my mouth:)

We are down to 11 days.

BEFORE AND AFTER

I want to say I am truly humbled by the response to my makeover of the "bunny hutch".....my sister is of course thrilled.  While we were in the styling phase [after I would go home] she would say it's perfect....done.....I don't want to change a thing.

And you know those words fell on deaf ears as I would look at the pictures and figure out what needed tweaking..... then on the next visit I would start changing things around and editing.  That is the process.  I don't want anyone to think it's so easy:)

The best part of designing for someone who is open to anything is there are no restrictions to your creativity.  You are not worried if they will like it or not and can purchase without fear.

Speaking of perfect clients.....

I have a few updates for you.

The art I commissioned from Linda Donahue arrived.

It is so perfect for the space and I have to say I am extremely envious it isn't hanging in my room.

Found an old painted bucket to accessorize with.

Since it was a good size we decided to recycle the coffee table.

Before.

After.

Instead of just painting it white I decided on a slightly darker color and some pattern.

So pleased with the results!

This room is almost finished....will have a few more updates later on.

Yesterday I went shopping with my sister.  We were in a dressing room [she was trying on dresses] and I hung my purse on one of the hooks.

You might know where this is going already.

After we left [deciding that every choice looked like something our Mom might have worn] we wandered ALL the way down to the other end of the mall into another store to continue the search.

Since I was not looking for a dress which by the way I HATE wearing....[I would rather wear some slim black pants, heels and a pretty jacket]....I went to check my phone.

Panic.

In the biggest way ever.

I screamed to my sister in the dressing room something inaudible and went running through the mall like my hair was on fire.  I wanted to scream but of course I did not want to get arrested, along with a possible You Tube on the 11 o'clock news.

Breathlessly I reached the dressing room and knocked on the closed door.  "Um hello....please....I left my purse in there."

In my mind I was certain somebody had already called their friends and said "put on your party clothes cause we are going out tonight courtesy of some stupid old lady who left their purse in a dressing room."

Whoop.

As the door opened this cute young blonde [who by the way looked adorable in the dress she had on] appeared scared when she saw the burning haired woman.

But she managed to get out of my way as I barged in, threw dresses off hooks to see my purse.

Holy heaven.

The angels started singing along with me.... as I hugged her.

Like she really had anything to do with it.

OMG.....I am now THAT old woman who can't keep up with her personal belongings.  What next getting lost in my neighborhood wandering around in my pajamas with my mascara all over my face?

Oh Lord.... the future is scary.

THANK YOU AND A LITTLE DESIGN

I have been incredibly touched by your comments on losing my sweet Zipper.  Hearing how many of you have  been through the same thing was comforting because I know I will get through this.

I am not going to lie....there have been a few breakdowns the last couple of days.
I keep asking myself  "did I do enough....did I give up" but I guess that is normal.  Crikey.....guilt is a bitch.

I know time is a healer and thank goodness I still have his sister to help console me.

Just a little design today.....easing back into things.

This arrived on Saturday.

It is the art for my project [bad iphone pic].  In the beginning I wanted a more modern abstract piece but as design can go I changed my mind for something a little more subtle.

I have posted before about Linda Donahue.  I am so in love with her work and if I can't have one...well this is the next best thing right?

I was at ADAC the other day and browsed through a fabric book in Duralee.

This one caught my eye...

Amazing huh?
Then I saw these embroidered beauties.

So darn pretty.

Color for days

I mean really...and notice that secretary in the reflection?
I need to amp up my painting skills:)

Alright....I've got to get in gear so I will have something for my ORC post on Wednesday!

Mondays are tough but they only come once a week....ha ha.  Sadness makes you goofy.
