ATLANTA HOMES AND LIFESTYLES

I have made no secret that AH&L is one of my favorite design magazines.  I am constantly amazed when every time I open the pages my face goes white and my hands get clammy with design envy.

This month was no exception.  Bob Brown and Jimmy Stanton.

Boom.....

Bob I'm coming for you....to perform an exorcism where I become you and you get me....yeah that is a bad deal for you but whatev......

Anyway this is his personal lake house and it got my brain all in a tizzy.

Um....it's OK I guess.

I am all over this kitchen..... cause that is pretty much my granite which I could change [not happening while I am still married to this husband] or just put up a million dollars worth of shiplap [probably not happening either.....drats].

Kapow.
That chest is so darn gorgeous.

Next up is Jimmy Stanton.

His pad in Madison, Georgia was on tour last weekend so I missed it.  Crap.

OK....on second thought I am on my way now to buy a can of dark gray paint and throw it up in the kitchen.

I do not hate this table base.

This.....green sofa.  Boom.

Cole and Son wallpaper.

Meanwhile I am down in Florida making such important design decisions it is mind blowing.

I had new pillow shams made so I needed a couple of accents.  Do I go with the dark blue

Or....
This color.

Whew I am exhausted from decision making.
Yeah I know.  I have been wanting to paint this headboard for 10 years.

Oh well.  There is always next year.

Last up is Dear Carolina.  Our blogger friend from Design Chic.... Kristy Woodson Harvey has written a book! It launches today.

So excited for her.  Go to Design Chic and see how you can win....wait for it....a 1000.00 shopping spree!

Sha'est la vie

Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles

I thought I was going to post my shelter room today but I got so distracted taking a few minutes to read one of Atlanta's premier shelter magazines,  Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles.  I needed a little distraction after my week of install at The Nicholas House!

If you do not subscribe to this one you are truly missing out.  The May cover was one of my all time favorites.  See for yourself!
I am so drooling over Kay Douglas's house on Lake Raburn.  Kay has been featured in many publications including House Beautiful and Traditional Home.   These photo's shot by Mali Azima really showcase Kay's incredibly fun style.  I am posting a few more...but I don't want to give it all away....
She uses just enough color!
How cool is this room....

Here is another home showcased this month.  This one was  photographed by Erica George Dines and is an incredible home on Lake Martin in Alabama.  A few pictures.
Holy Christmas...could you just die????  I am sure that the views are incredible.  I just want to sit there every morning and have my coffee.....dream :)
Ahhhhh...beautifully edited.  Love the walls, the bench, the rug, the door, the switch plates for the lights...you get my drift right?

Ok...one more gorgeous home for you to drool over....
Jimmy Stanton's home in Madison, Georgia again photographed by the talented Erica George Dines.   I could not find a web site for Erica [photographer] but I worked with her about 8 years ago and she is one of the best.

Yummy...I love his rustic style.
Awesome gallery.
And this kitchen is one of my all time favorites.  I would not change a thing.  You must check out Jimmy's home furnishings store on the west side called Stanton Home Furnishings.  It is the best...I shop there quite a bit, and every time I go it is full of more cool  stuff.  And you know we love "stuff".....

I could show you more because this months issue is full of wonderful pictures.  If you don't live in Atlanta you can subscribe here.  They also have a facebook page.  I know it sounds like I am being paid to do this....but I am not.  I just think that since there are not as many shelter publications anymore if I know of a good one I want to share.

The movers come tomorrow morning to move EVERYTHING out of my house.  Yes...you read that right.  EXCEPT for my master bedroom.  I was going to go to a hotel  but the thought of being cramped in there with my 2 dogs was more than I could bare.  I have decided to stay home...I have outside access from my bedroom.  I will just move my coffee maker in there and camp.  Hey my shelter family of 6 lives in the same size room!

They are also dismantling my whole kitchen.....what if they drop my granite????  Whoops.
Yep...this week should give me some good blogging material.....
I can also climb into my laundry room window for my computer.   I have a laptop but most of my pics are on the big mac.  Just another day in the life.......
