HOUSE BEAUTIFUL WHOLE HOME PROJECT PT 2

In the "old days" I aways had so much to blog about:)......Lately I have this feeling that you are probably falling asleep while reading mid sentence thinking "this chick better get it together....and get a life".

I know...I feel your pain.

Especially lately with 100% of my effort going into 2 showhouses.  That I can't blog about really...

But hey....just like in a marriage that ebbs and flows the same thing happens in "blogland" haha.

So hang in there with me.  I'm cheating again today with a few squeaky shots of the House Beautiful Wellness House.

Did I mention that I had to pick out like 258 light fixtures?  Well not that many really but it felt like it!  The good news is that Circa Lighting was a sponsor and we know how good their selections are!  Of course it seemed like every one I picked out was back-ordered....grrrrr.

I picked 6 of these cute little sconces for the stairwell.

This one is pretty new so I put it in the foyer...

Matthew Quinn designed this powder bath, the kitchen and the master bath.

Master Bath

Kitchen backsplash from Renaissance Tile

I love the color of this tile for the girls bathroom.....

This was the plan for the bar area which is also the "friends entrance"....

My new favorite color is BM Ashwood Moss

And these doors right?

And here is the friends entrance...so pretty huh?

Woodward Outdoor Furniture was a sponsor so here is my plan....
Mixed in with some great Thibaut outdoor fabrics

Another sponsor was Loloi and we got to use this beauty!

See these boxes below....I had to open 4 times this many from all the sponsors like Ballard Designs and Perigold!

In the house without AC!
It was brutal y'all.

Update on Cami....finally yesterday [one week later] no diarrhea.

Whew.

And..... I went to bed on Tuesday night feeling fine and then apparently the "cold fairy" tip toed in my room and conked me on the head.

So Wednesday I woke up to the results of that visit with a nasty cold.

Crikey....

YES.....MORE KITCHEN MAKEOVER UPDATES

You want an update on the kitchen makeover.....well here it is.....picture me in the corner crying.

Not really but hot damn I did go a little crazy over the weekend trying to figure out what to keep and what to put away as far as accessories go.  I am trying to EDIT the crap out of my place and get rid of what I am not using.

My friend Jan has someone coming up in October to run a yard sale for us so we can sit there and drink Mimosa's.  The ultimate service right?

I mean think about it.....I am going from turquoise and a bit shabby to black and white and not so shabby.  Complete turnaround.

So to say I have stuff is an understatement.  And of course you have to put it somewhere so you can see what you are doing without all of the clutter right?

I just didn't want you to think I had it all together:) This room has become somewhat of a dumping ground.

But there are a few updates....

My curtains got installed.  What a difference full scrim panels made to make this area feel more grown up!

I got the shelves stained [Min Wax Classic Gray] and that is where the fun stopped.  Oh yes....more shelves to style and these proved to be a real challenge.

Functional + awesome right?

After I finished my husband said "boy those look kinda full".  When your husband who knows didely squat about design makes a statement like that you know you're in trouble......

Needless to say I will be tweaking those suckers!

I can tell you that I am hard in love with my backsplash.  This is a hand painted 5 x 5 in stock tile from Renaissance Tile grouted with a light gray from Home Depot.  I die every time I look at it.

I am slowly getting the bookcases done.

Before...

After.....

With one more peek at my Currey and Co sconces.

The guy who made my cabinet doors made these barstools for me.....One gray stained oak and one black stained.  The top is maple....

I can't decide what color.....

So the countdown to the photoshoot is 10 days away.  Whats left?  Install the faucet, some hardware, wallpaper, CLEAN and in general.....agonize.

My friend Ally had her home published in the fall issue of Atlanta's HOME and it's pretty awesome!

PROJECT DETAILS

I'm starting right out with this.

As far as Making A Murderer and Steven Avery... let me say this:  I do not know whether he is guilty or not.  Since watching it along with a million other people new information has surfaced that we didn't hear in the courtroom.  As I said before my feelings were that there seemed to be some injustices about the details of the investigation and trial.

So let's not jump to conclusions with the idea that I am all "Judge Judy" and would have him released from prison right away:)

OK....back to all things frivolous like design.

I have some good news for all of you local peeps.  This incredible project is going to be on the Cathedral Tour of Homes on Feb 7th!  You will have the opportunity to see the whole house.

That being said...... I am busy working on some of the rooms that we neglected after the big push to get the downstairs finished.

I have had 3 major deadlines with the first one getting the downstairs done for the Junior League Tour last March.  Then we took a small breather and had another big push to get it ready for the photoshoot in October.

Now in 3 short weeks we have another tour and another deadline.  Geez....it is a good thing I work well under pressure.

I am working on 2 areas right now....the girls loft and a large bedroom.

Here is the loft during construction.  Through that doorway is the bedroom which is pretty large.  It has 2 queen beds in it.

A more completed view from the other direction.  Through the doorway are 2 additional bedrooms and an upstairs laundry room.  On the left you can see the glass half wall.  The curtains in the DR start up here!

The ceilings are painted SW Repose Gray

And this light fixture from RH was hung.

In the bedroom....3 large Currey and Co chandeliers.

This Mitchell Gold sofa shown here in their rental [while they built their dream house!] will get new life after being re-upholstered

Here it is in their former family room.

Repurpose right!  There are actually 2 of these sofa's so one is going in the girls loft.

There are 2 of these chairs [that were in the LR of the old house] also going into the bedroom.

You can see them flanking the FP in the old LR.

This coffee table shown in the rental.....

Shown here in their old family room....will be used and painted white.

I kind of built my plan around this art that we will use in the bathroom right off the bedroom.....

With these floors that kill me every damn time I see them.  Tile from Renaissance.

So are you totally confused now?  Well here is the plan.  I am using this Jim Thompson No. 9 fabric called Indore Garden for all my pillows.  It has a little beige in it that will go nicely with the chairs.  It also has some white which is on the walls.....and the bedding.

I posted this yesterday when I found the turquoise fabric for the sofa.  I know.....are you shocked I am doing a sofa other than white?  Yep.....stepping outside the box here folks.  I'm nothing if not daring right?  My new nickname is "color queen".

Hee Haw.

The curtains are gonna be white with this trim down the leading edge.

Still have a lot more details to work out like lamps....accessories etc.

Here is a before shot....
Two white iron beds.....and each side has similar antique wood chest.

Stay tuned for more updates because this puppy has to be finished by Feb 6th.....yes 27 days.

More details on the girls loft later......Lucky for me I found the fabric for both sofas and curtains yesterday at Fabric and Fringe Warehouse .

I'm on it.
