BEFORE AND AFTER

Hello....taps on the mic.....anyone there?  I am just coming out of the fog of international travel and boy it's so hard!

Not to complain but we all got sick the night before coming home....so traveling with a bad cold made the experience suck.  I don't remember ever being this happy to be home.....said Dorothy as she clicked her ruby heels together.

Lord it will be a minute before I cross the pond again.....

More on my trip in the next post because I have to get it together in my head first.....:)

Before I left I had a small install....meaning a guest room "fluff".  I have been working with these clients for 2 years doing an extensive renovation and furnishing the whole house.  When it gets down to the end....we had a guest room that just needed a small refresh.....as we kind of threw leftovers in there!

Before
As you can see they had a good foundation....nice bed and lighting.

after
Changed out the coverlet to white and added new pillows and a throw.  It just looks fresher now right?

When I found the blue and white lumbar pillow I was plain giddy over it!

A pretty basket on the bottom shelf of the nightstand helps fill empty space.

Before
Opposite the bed is this Room and Board navy sofa.  This area needed a little love also!

I love the mirror from HomeGoods as it helped to add some texture to the room!  The floor lamp was from Crate and Barrel.  I couldn't do a coffee table as I had only about 2 feet from the end of the rug to the sofa....so that small white wood table was perfect!

Brought a little orange over to the couch.

Before

After

I was lucky to find this piece of art because we all know HG's art can be sketchy....It had a really pretty frame.

The vases were HG's and the faux fig branch came from West Elm....

Takeaway....I put the mirror over the couch because I knew I could add color with pillows....the art over the console because I would need color there!

Takeaway.....Blue and white is always easy to find at HG's.  I try not to make it harder by sticking to colors that are easy to find especially in a pinch.

Takeaway....I bought like 25 pillows for this job because I wasn't sure how things would go....so glad I did because some of the ones I thought would look good....didn't.  Come Prepared!

So there you have it!  I am recovering....colds suck and if they can put a man on the moon why is there not a cure?

BEFORE AND AFTER

Back from vaca and all renewed!  Of course I obviously did not get my s*#t together so I didn't post on Friday.....buy hey give a sister a break right:)

Part of the problem is that internet is sketchy down there in La Antigua......that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Anyway more on my trip later.....today I have a little before and after for ya.

As in a master bedroom......which as we all know....somehow is always the last room that gets done!

Let's just dive right in....and please forgive crappy iPhone pictures.

Before

No judging....The first thing we did was put in hardwood floors to match the hallway.

But then we wanted a large carpet for coziness and the fact that she has an older dog who occasionally has "accidents" I used some inexpensive cut yardage to be practical.

I ordered this bed from Bernhardt Interiors.

These were some of the fabrics I started playing around with.....

I also ordered this bench from Amazon...

To be recovered and put under the window....

I picked out some pretty bedding from Pine Cone Hill....and used the Thibaut fabric for the pillow shams.

Another before.....

Because the light fixture had not been installed yet! And I had nothing for over the bed.

The real after!

So much better!

This Currey and Co semi flush is perfect for 8 ft ceilings!

Before

I added some color and pattern by using the Thibaut fabric in the curtains!  Kind of a change up for me as I usually do a neutral.

Who am I.....ha ha
After.....
We painted the walls Ben Moore White Dove....duh.

And added a Schumacher wallpaper on the bed wall for a little interest.

Before

After

I love how the bench turned out.

We also have new 4" plantation shutters coming.

I got these prints at HomeGoods but I needed to have them reframed.  The white was way too stark and I wanted them to be a little bigger.

Here they are.....much better huh? The colors were perfect and again adding another modern aspect!

These Pottery Barn Lamps....
I have the same bedside chest from Bernhardt Interiors.
I kept it symmetrical using the same on each side.

And I added a little stool for necessities :)

We also kept her original dresser and had the TV [she got a larger one] mounted.

Before

After

I've tried a lot of things over a bed but somehow a round object seems to work....#onetrickpony

And there you have it....

On Friday a full recap on my trip to La Antigua with my sisters!

I just heard on TV that there is 14 days until Christmas....whoa.

BEFORE AND AFTER BEDROOM

I'm pretty sure there is a bed in crazytown waiting for me right now.  I mean..... come spring if I am still standing I want a crown and a proper celebration.

#overbooked

But enough about me.....I'm trying to answer a few questions about the bathroom and foyer makeover on the previous post!

Powder room wallpaper: Waters Edge Dove  BW45070.1

Foyer wallpaper: Thibaut Grasscloth

I don't have any info for you about the stained tile floors because I just told them what I wanted and they did it.  I know it was a stain...that is about it!

I am going to give you a few detail shots from my recent install.  It is not 100% finished and I definitely want to get some professional pictures since I only have these from my iphone.

So let's start from the beginning....

House built in the 70's....huge master bedroom.

Real Estate shot

My job: To cozy up this bad boy and give them a sanctuary while the kitchen, LR and family room get renovated!

Color scheme: soft pretty blues.

Floor plan.....

Sitting area....a place to watch TV and some storage with 2 large dressers.

I know my client/friend....she likes "pretty" and blue is probably her favorite color.  Even better..... that she really does trust me [especially since I have done 3 homes for her over 20 years!]

At first we were just going to get a smaller chest in the space below but with the side bookcases....that would limit the TV size and just make it look like we squeezed everything in there.

So.....another one of those "while we are at it" moments we took out this section of bookcases!

Much better right?

And this really doesn't show you anything....but it was all I got.

I recovered this sofa and 2 chairs she already had to use in the seating area....

Both of these had good lines so it was worth giving them new life.

Before

The beginning.....

Blue ceiling.

Lamps reused from another life......

The doors still make me giddy....with the added trim and new Emtek hardware!

Added this pretty trim to the bedskirt and tableskirt....

Pretty Chaise....needs a pillow:)

I think you can kind of get it!

We still need a piece of art over the sofa which I hope will happen soon.

It amazing what you do with a little paint and new carpet.....OK....curtains and new furniture.....OK maybe with a little accessorizing....but the room did have good light.....so there's that:)

Hope you guys are having a great week....somehow I got another cold [one month apart] weird right?  This one is in the head as opposed to my previous chest cold.  I am back on NyQuil and DayQuil.....didn't I just wean myself from that?

I'm just happy that it's not the flu.  Like I always say.....silver linings.
