MY PHOTOSHOOT

It seems like everything this past month was all about getting ready for "the photoshoot".....it's like Christmas right?

You shop for a month trying to find the perfect gift for everyone and at the end of the day when all the gifts are opened and the dinner is eaten your like...."well guess I will get on with life until next year".

Not to make light of it because I am still ecstatic!  It was an exciting day day working with so much talent and watching them polish my house like a shiny new penny.

Here are 5 people just to make sure one shot is perfect!

It's not all work either......  Owen and Betsy are taking a break to share some love!

Ginny and I were simpatico with our love for hats in styling....

I used one in my last ORC!

Let me just bounce into talking about the talented stylist Ginny Branch!  I worked with her on the HB Kitchen Of The Year and this chick is amazing.

Her flower arrangements made me cry.

On a whim I called to see if she was available to style on my big day and the angels started singing when I heard yes:)

Everybody thought I was crazy but seriously people if I have a hard time decorating my own house....styling it would be close to achieving world peace right?

Know when you don't know.

Look at her work.....

I mean come on...... her gorgeous style is organic mixed with a little romance and who doesn't need that!

And she is sweet as a ripe peach :)

I am so grateful to Owen and Christine husband and wife photography team for making a long day totally fun!

A couple who clearly love their work and it shows!

To Lisa Mowry and Betsy Riley for trusting me to get my house ready on time.....LOL!

My girl Sudi for always hooking me up with my pillow addiction :)

And of course my friend Michael Ladisic of Ladisic Fine Homes who.... well.....we all know was instrumental in giving me MY dream kitchen lickity split as they say.

Phil Kazmark for these killer barstools and my cabinet doors....

I know...sitting through the credits and not being able to fast forward is hard but it took a village to pull this off!

One more thing....I have the best clients ever because they were so patient these last 3 weeks but now I know it's time to get back to work!

This is how excited Cami is that it's all over!

 hahahaha

PHOTO SHOOT

If you follow me on Instagram then you heard the news!  The project that I have been working on for the last year was photographed last week for one of my favorite magazines.....Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles.

It was shot by Erica George Dines who also shot a project I did 12 years ago for AH&L.

She is the ultimate professional.....sometimes taking 15 minutes to perfect a shot asking each of us to also take a look and make sure everything is good.

It was 2 very long days....I had my Fit Bit on and did 23,000 steps in one day.  Boom!

I took a few detail shots......

I spent 2 days before the shoot ironing all of the bedding so it was crisp:)

This is Michael's [Michael Ladisic Fine Homes] personal home [his 4th in our neighborhood!] and the 3rd one that I have worked on.
It took over a year to build and the detailing is amazing.  He was very involved with the design and put together quite the team starting with Matthew Quinn for the kitchen, Architect Linda MacArthur and landscape designer Graham Pittman & Assoc.

I think he bought every boxwood in the city.

Erica was joined by the  editor of AH&L Elizabeth Ralls,  Blake Dowling Weeks [who did all of the flowers and helped style] and the talented Eleanor Roper.....stylist extraordinar.

I learned so much just watching her.  Talk about edit.  I went home and looked at my house through new eyes. Crikey.....what a hot mess.

Anyway......the good news is that it's going to be in the January issue.....Merry Christmas to me:)

Alrighty then......it's Friday.  I am damn happy about that.

BEHIND THE SCENES OF A PHOTO SHOOT....

Remember that kitchen I posted about....

Well it is cruising along at a snails pace.  These kitchen cabinets are a process to install.

I am so excited that it's going to be on a kitchen tour in late March!  The bad part is they had to come take a picture the other day for the brochure.

Uh huh....and the fact that we pulled that off is nothing short of a miracle.

I can't reveal too much but I wanted to show you a little behind the scenes.

Here is the setting when I arrived with a basket full of accessories and some branches of Quince.

This was at 1:30 and the photographer was arriving at 3:00!  Still installing shelves...and Lisa [the homeowner!] was wiping down the appliances.

The marble had been installed a few hours ago.

This Currey light fixture was laying on it's side!

Here is a close up of the marble....and the sink

And.....about an hour or so later....

Simple restaurant supply white dishes the homeowner bought second hand!!!  I love them.
Good eye Lisa:)

Styled up!
If you look closely there are some things missing.....

And....if you turn to the right you will see this!

Hahahahaha....the light fixture is hanging on a hook.  It just goes to show what you can do with a little lipstick.....but of course we had a pretty nice pig to put it on!

OK....I have to get to work on my presentation for tomorrow.
Definitely running behind on this one.

Shermagician :)
