MADISON UPDATE

Good Lord y'all....yesterday [Monday] just about killed me.  I started putting out "design" fires at 9:30 and the fun never stopped.

I was installing curtains at my Madison project and when we opened the hardware box there was only one rod instead of 2.  Whaaaaaa. This would not have been a big deal except for the fact that it's 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta so it's not cheap to get these babies installed!

I learned that some furniture I was waiting for got sent back to North Carolina because of a warehouse snafu.  #designerproblems

Did I have a sign on my back that said "kick me"?

Oh well....nothing some pretty pictures can't fix!

I have a few updated pictures of Madison [you can see all the before and afters if you search Madison in the sidebar]....

Y'all remember where we started right?

Clearing out the weeds and trimming things back [nothing was planted] I was amazed at how good it looked!

MADISON BEFORE AND AFTER PART 3

Thanks for all of my birthday wishes.....You guys are the best!  I knew 7 years ago when I started blogging and let you all into my life that I was making the right decision:)

Now that I am officially old I am going to be more responsible and less snarky here on the blog.....

Brahahahahaha.

Amidst all of this birthday talk I forgot to show you the last pictures of the Madison Project updates....we are almost done.

Starting with some of the purchases we made in the beginning.....

The rug and drum light fixture came from Rejuvenation.  The coffee table and chair came from Stanton Home Furnishings.

For some reason I can't find the before picture that had the original curtains hanging.....

First of all these aren't the original chairs.....she had them in her Atlanta home and we painted them. We just threw some ready mades up on the same rods.....so weird I ordered 96" and they were plenty tall enough on the other walls.....oh well.....it's not like this is going in Elle Decor:)

#biggerfishtofry

This bench was out in the mudroom so we moved it.....

Before

Again with some PB curtains....

This is actually where the TV will go.

Before....brown everywhere.

I rearranged the furniture so that the sofa didn't block the entrance into the room.....

Scary huh?

After

This coffee table gave me a fit with those metal straps grrrrrr.....made it hard for placement.

I got the bowl at HG's, the 2 candlesticks at a flea market, the white filtration balls at Scott's and put them in a black tray from Target.  The pillows from Sudi.  She had the rug in her Atlanta home.

This black and white picture from a consignment store and the white vases from Target.

We had the doors painted....
This is the downstairs bathroom.

Painted the vanity, mirror and got a new light fixture.

Fresh white towels make everything better right?

This job is what I like to call a "zhush on steroids"!  Nothing huge but some paint and a few purchases made a big difference to brighten this place up.

If you want to see where we started just search Madison!

Alrighty then...enjoy the weekend!

MADISON PROJECT BEFORE AND AFTER PART 2

On Wednesday I spent the morning at the dentist. That will bring you back to reality.  I'm sure I have posted about my fear which I know is shared by many of you.

My old dentist [ 23 years....not his age hee haw ] stopped using IV sedation so we had to breakup:(

I am such a wuss when it comes to any kind of pain.....or to be clear.... just the very thought that there WILL be pain.

Don't get me wrong....I can get a cleaning no problem but pretty much anything else will require sedation.

PSA..... there is a timeline on crowns and fillings. Don't think for a minute they will last forever.....because every 20 years or so you can expect to be in that chair getting the bad news that one or more needs to be replaced.

Being a dentist is a thankless job cause NOBODY is ever excited to come for a visit.

I've got more before and after pictures of the Madison project today.  It is about 75% done!

Tuesday we explored the bedrooms.  Today I have the screened in porch.

This property was bought furnished.....a sea of brown furniture and not to sugarcoat it.....crap everywhere.

 Before.....

So much stuff!

We started by painting the ceiling and walls the same color as  the outside.

And the trim...

Clearing it out only keeping a few things.  Like a couple of dogs!  Henry and Chelsea

Painted this old beat up pie chest.....

Remember we picked up this painting at a flea market?

Ordered some Kingsley Bates outdoor furniture

After trying to arrange the furniture I realized that this stove was IN MY WAY!

So I flipped the room putting the table and chairs down here and the seating at the other end.  It makes sense since that is where the view of the lake is!

We ordered this square table with 2 storage benches at the Lakewood 400 flea market and they had 6 old captains chairs in their attic.  Soon to be painted.

And before of the other end.....

Cleared out

Using a few leftover things to see what we still need......new ceiling fans also....much sleeker

The coffee table and end table were previously in the family room
Pillows from Pier One and HomeGoods.

The rug from Target's new outdoor collection.

Used the extra captains chairs here....and reused the bench that was already there.

I'm thinking of using the gray color we painted the pie safe......on the chairs

This area in the middle of the room......

My plan all along was to put the vintage iron cot here.

Which I had painted white.

Still need to find a mattress that fits!  The old one was a little "too vintage" for me....ha ha.

I can see taking a heck of a nap here right?

We will explore the family room on Tuesday!

Have a great weekend.....
