BEFORE AND AFTER

I love Fridays.....there I said it.  One reason is that I have been taking Saturdays off from work....you know like a "mental health day".  I used to just work 7 days a week....meaning that I was always doing some work on the weekends but that was no fun!

I got my second vaccine on Tuesday and I was waiting for all the bad things to happen but it was just like the first shot......nothing.  So there you have it.

I posted about that on Instagram and somebody got all over me saying "I was acting like a hero" because I took the vaccine.  HUH?  Look....get one if you want or don't.....it is none of my business.....don't come at me.

The only reason I think I am a hero is that I managed to find the darn "correct" parking deck at the Mercedes Benz Stadium since the only directions on the sheet of paper said "park at the stadium".  Um....there are like 25 parking decks.

#oldpeople need a little more help than that.

So I was about to dog y'all today cause I really didn't have anything to share with you.  I mean the fashion post about did me in with keeping all the links straight and stuff....:)

But I thought I would share just a few pictures to prove the power of paint in design!

OK....no judgement here....cause you know the after will be stunning.....

Here is the deal.....the opening to the room was about 4 feet so the first thing is to enlarge it.  Next up is take the corbels off the fireplace mantel. The surround is a brown marble and I suggested to keep it.....you'll see....

This entrance got closed in as they really didn't need it!

Now the opening has been widened to 6 feet.  We are going to keep the chandelier but paint out the room a light color.....painting out all the brown trim but keeping the stained wood sashes as they are throughout the house....

The Brazilian Cherry floors are getting refinished.  I know what you are thinking....how to get the red out of those suckers.  Well the floor guy gave us a sample and I was amazed.  He puts a bleach on them first and then he was able to get a pretty brown.  We are both excited about that!

OK.....are you ready to see the room painted????

I mean.....whoa mama.....

Total game changer!  Benjamin Moore White Sand.  I sent her some sconce selections.....so I will keep you posted on this little gem of a makeover.

Like I said.....the power of paint.....

Last night I went over to my neighbors and she order food from the Slutty Vegan.....

Ha Ha I think she was afraid we wouldn't have enough fries!  I plowed through those suckers and then we destroyed the rest.  She asked me if I wanted to take them home and I said #hellno.....I would not rest until they were all gone.

FASHION

Well.....I guess I should travel the country just taking a room full of furniture and putting a room together!

Thanks for all the good feedback and I have answers to your questions also....ur welcome.

**The white sofas are Mitchell Gold.  I am not sure they make the same model as these were purchased many years ago!

**I arranged those cookies and really it only took me 5 minutes:)

**The finger pull hardware on the dry bar are called Edge Pulls.....you can find them here in many finishes.

**The rest of the kitchen cabinet Hardware are from Richelieu Hardware.

**The island pendants are from Circa Lighting and they are called the Goodman Pendant

**The floors are called Sellersburg Oak SBG38-507CH Cheyenne.  You can google....I found them.

And there you have it.

I finally got it together to do a fashion post.....basically it is more of a capsule wardrobe of sorts.  After 68 years I have figured out that if I stick to basics then I can mix and match them and just add a scarf or some cute shoes to make a completely new outfit!

I guess I'm a slow learner.....:)

Below is a great black and white look.  Seriously if you have 3 pairs of denim let them be black...white and a dark wash.  I mean that is almost all you need!

I have this black and white T shirt....it is very oversized which I think looks good with skinny jeans.  I just do a small french tuck in the front.  And can we say Sneakers?  For real I wear them all the time and there are so many cute ones out there!

Below....again a good pair of black jeans! A taupe sweater and cute scarf.  Throw on the black Converse sneakers and some big fake diamond studs......go girl!

Here are the dark wash jeans that look great with everything and are more slimming than the lighter version.  I like a more mid-rise jean than the ones that go all the way up.  They are just more comfy to me.

A pretty reasonable priced camel coat can elevate an outfit and will go with anything.  Grab the Converse white sneakers and that is all you need....I actually have the J Crew belt in both black and camel and wear them constantly !

A long sleeve T shirt is a must and I have this exact one in black and white from Target.  They are amazing.  A denim jacket goes with everything....all the basics but throw in those cute sneakers!

Take the white T shirt again and just add the camel sweater.  I have this J Crew Factory sweater in both camel and black and I wear them all the time.  You can usually find them for 50% off.

Beside a few pair of sneakers....the shoes below are all staples of a basic wardrobe.  I have those black booties and they are SO GOOD.  Comfy from the first day I put them on and they can elevate an outfit.  Always make sure if you wear with jeans to show a little bit of ankle.  I have similar mules and wore them all last spring and summer.  A pair of camel booties will also serve you well......

Suede Boots

A few more things to add to your wardrobe.....Everything but the linen shirt can be found at J Crew Factory but the linen shirt can be found here

I bet you can put together 30 different looks with these basics!

Alrighty then....off to my work out [it's lower body day and I know it's gonna hurt]  and then get my second vaccine.

Happy Tuesday

BEFORE AND AFTER

Oh my God.....trying to sleep last night was a disaster.  11:30.....12:30.....finally at 1:15 I got up and took a 1/2 Ambian .....at 2:00 I was till awake and I got up and took the other half.

Crikey.

The last time I remember looking at my watch it was 2:30.....so I guess I finally let go.  And.... then Cami nudges me at 6:00 cause...well hey Mom I gotta pee and I am hungry.

Whew gonna be a long day.  So guess what?  I finally have a little bit to share with you today.  My friend/builder  Michael Ladisic has been renovating his daughters townhouse and even though I wasn't involved with that part I did get the call when there was a shitload of furniture sitting around and people scratching their heads :)

First they had to get the construction cleaned out!

Without getting too wordy on you there were 2 sofas.  You can see this situation clearly wouldn’t work .  Ahead to the left of where the 2 windows are is the foyer.

The dining room is straight ahead.

Dining area.....

Alrighty then.....

I split up the sofas....it is a very long room and the second sofa is really just for over flow seating....

The furniture came from all the roommates moving in so I had a lot of styles to choose from:)

The cushions were being cleaned but we made a big dent that day!

While waiting for the kitchen to be finished I went over last Sunday and we hung all the art....I also took a few pictures and then headed out to Target and Homegoods to see what I could find!

It certainly helps when your Dad is a builder:)

The powder bathroom below got a new vanity and the wallpaper will be going!

Some left over tile and wallpaper from a project.....turned it into a black and white haven!

Those Target hand towels are the bomb!

And after the things were hung.....here is how we left it until Yesterday morning.....

I ended up putting both brown pillows on this sofa.  And threw in a Target stripe with them!

This was the other sofa before....

Lucky for me I found one brown pillow at Target to take the brown over to the other side.....

This is the TV wall before....

A few books....some flowers and boxes..... done.  You might notice we changed out the rug [one of the girls already had it] because we needed the hide for the DR.

I wasn't feeling this chair situation.....before

I just neutralized it and took the throw off the ladder.

If you scroll way back the chest was in between the 2 windows.  It made a nice transition to "marry" the 2 sofas.....and continue the room so that the other sofa didn't just hang out by itself!

I had the lamp on the chest but moved it over to the end table because it was so crowded!

The foyer before.....

I was so lucky to find this small mirror at the last Homegoods I went to!

This made a nice drop zone for keys and such!

Before of the bar area....in the kitchen.

Just a little zhushing.....

Lisa found some new cushions for the outdoor furniture and it made such a big difference!

I picked up the rug and accessories at Target.

Man a little cleaning up made the world of difference and when I went back last night they had the fire going and the lights up!

The foyer.....before

I picked up a faux plant and some hooks at Target.

The kitchen.....

The dining room before......

Whew...are you alseep?

Alrighty then.....from not having anything to blog about to the longest post ever....

It's never consistent around here...haha

OK....I actually worked out this morning as sleepy as I was and now I am finishing up this post so I can get to work.....

Hope y'all have a great weekend!
