ASO DECORATORS SHOW HOUSE 2015

I am happy to report that my soiree went off without a hitch.

Even the weather held out which made me  pretty darn happy  because I spent all of Friday power washing every stinking piece of furniture.

My arms were so tired.

Since all I had to do was provide the venue I was not in charge of anything else.  But.....my sister ordered these little bundt cakes.  OMG.....

Little single servings of crack.  Crikey I ate one rite out of the box not even worried about whether we had enough:)

Today I have more pictures of the ASO Decorator Show House.  If you have not been there is still time!  It is open until May 10th.

Starting with one of my favorite designers Bob Brown....
I was all over this neutral room....right!

Um....this bed.

Right off the MBR was Danielle Rollins and Bill Ingram who designed the bath.

Cutest business cards ever....

It was a gorgeous room full of toile against some great wallpaper.

Living room designed by Michael Boyd.

It was so good but I had a hard time getting some decent photographs.

The dining room which was done by Randy and Dan of Boxwoods.

My good friend Vern Yip [ha ha] designed the family room and dining area.

Right off this area was the kitchen by Robin LaMonte.  I think it is important to say that she could only upgrade with paint.  I love the taupe color she picked out....it works well with the existing granite countertops.

Upstairs Patricia McLean gave us a beautiful traditional southern room.
Love this Thibaut wallpaper on the ceiling...

Then we come to Melanie Turners room....which I loved.  She kept the toile paper that was on the walls....

The green velvet window treatments were slap gorgeous!

Say hello to this fabulous room by Parker Kennedy.

The Fromental wall covering was spectacular!

I left out many rooms that I just could not get good shots of....so you will just have to go.

Alrighty....girl has stuff to do.  I'm down in Florida trying to whip this place in shape before the rental season.

MELANIE TURNER

Alrighty then....Monday morning.  Did you watch the Grammys?  Favorite performance was Annie Lenox....when I grow up can I be her?  She is just so cool sporting that short hair and singing her heart out.....Rock Star.

Over the weekend I went on The Cathedral Tour of Homes.  We were having epic weather here in Atlanta [almost 70 degrees] so it was crowded!

The first home I saw was this one....

The Calhoun House which was built in 1923.

The architect was Philip Shutze who also designed the famous Swan House in Atlanta.

6 bedrooms, 7 baths and over 10,000 square ft, this home was recently bought by designer Melanie Turner and her husband [builder]  Stan Benecki.  They are only the 3rd owners.

Can you even?

The back...

OMG....Melanie can I come over for coffee so you can tell me your plans?

You guys know her right?

Here is a review for your pleasure....

Major talent.

I'm feeling stalkerish towards her:)

Here are some older images I found of the house online.

The back....

The ballroom...

Dining room

The ceilings in this room were incredible....

I mean these doors and this fireplace!

If you are curious for more history of this home go here

I wish we could have taken pictures as they have already done quite a bit of renovating.

I'll let you know when Mel and I start hanging out.

ATLANTA HOMES & LIFESTYLES

Have you guys seen the cover of AH&L this month?  As somebody who adores white interiors it was the MOTHERLOAD!

It features a beautiful home in Rosemary Beach designed by Melanie Turner.  It's a stunner y'all.

I have always loved this gorgeous wallpaper from Schumacher.

Oh Melanie.....you got some talent girl.

Next up is Dawne Raulet Hall who is a stockbroker turned artist.

She took a 1930's fishing cottage in Lake Burton and turned it into just plain WOW.

Starting with gallons of white paint to lighten up the wood paneling it was transformed into a place I could call home:)

Love the mix of Ikea chairs with "found objects".

I had to find out more about Dawn and her art and I was not disappointed.

When I saw this one I slapped my head in an ah ha moment remembering designer Monique Gibson's work.

Remember this?

And I created this design board.....

So now I know who my new "art crush" is!

Full circle.

I am in love with her paintings.

In fact one of these would be the perfect piece in my ORC.  Dang I wish she was my neighbor and we shared casseroles and wine together.

Dawne.....you would like me.....I would make you laugh while you painted and and we could be besties.

In Atlanta you can find Dawne's work at Huff Harrington Home

I feel a serious obsession coming on.  Maybe even some stalking.

I hate when I get like this....kind of reminds me of when I was little and my shoelaces had to be tied in perfect bows that were exactly even on both sides.

No exceptions.

Are you guys ready for Wednesday?
The start of the ORC.

I have got to get my butt in gear because there is some serious talent on this list and I am sure they are way ahead of me with the process.

It is going to be a 10 on the Wizometer today!
