CURATING ART

If you are on Instagram then you know I had a busy weekend.....DK Gallery in Marietta, Georgia had an art opening where 20 or so designers picked a piece of art and then curated a small vignette to co-ordinate with our selection.

Of course I said yes 2 months ago and then I had to be prodded to actually go pick out my selection and after everyone promptly put their vignettes together..... I was knocking on the door at 4:00 with my table and flowers.....sliding in just under the opening at 5:00 pm.

Crikey.....

I picked a piece that was titled "Last Day Of Summer"....by Laura Surace

So I went down into my "collection room" commonly known as the basement and dug out this old table.

Grabbed a tray and threw some wallpaper and fabric together!  Of course these are my colors and now you can see the method behind my choice of art:)

Flew into Trader Joes for some greenery and there you go.  Old Target vase also from the "collection room" :)

Then of course I had to dress to match everything and I wore this Target number....which I can't find online anymore.  I actually got it on the sale rack for 22.00.  Score.

They were actually pretty comfortable but after 5 hours NO SHOE IS COMFY.....am I right?

It was a fun night to catch up with friends Lori May and Lisa Mowry below

Lori's selection

I also wore it last Thursday night with flats..... please excuse the sour look on my face...haha
And if you look closely you can see that I have to keep my LR sofa covered up so Cami doesn't lay there 24/7.

Buggerhead

While I was there networking I get this text from my husband.

He wanted to show me the empty dog food container.

Crickets....

Meaning I should stop for dog food on my way home [25 minutes away]  after working all day.  Uh Huh....at 8:45 pm I had to go to Pet Smart.....

Yet.....he is retired and is less than a mile from PS.

Can you see where I'm going with this?

Irritated.

But who could resist this face....

I found this beautiful vase at HomeGoods....and threw in 9.00 worth of white gladiolus for impact!

Alrighty then....it's wedding week and of course I have a cold.

Not happy about it.

FASHION

My goodness....y'all know how to make a person feel special:)  So glad you liked my One Room Challenge that I completed for my sister!  She's happy....I'm happy so all is right with my world right now.

Don't worry you know I am working on a post with lots of details so hang tight!

But.....I did want to share this fashion post that I put together last week before it's out of style....haha.

I've done a little spring shopping....I know.... you would think "where did she find the time?"

But I did!  Some I ordered and some I snagged while I was out and about because you know all the summer stuff will be gone by July 1st.

I love these pants....I tried wide leg last year but couldn't get on board.....I do think the trick is to wear a higher heel!

Last year I bought a similar dress from J Crew Factory and it became a staple during the dog days of summer!  I love the Bag from H&M!

I wanted to show you a different look with the wide leg pants!  I have the black top from BR and I also have a similar fanny pack which is so fun!

I'm not sure I can wear this dress without a jacket....no matter how much you work out...those arms just don't cooperate :) But...it was so cheap I am not bothered if I don't wear it that much....

I took a trip up to J Crew Factory last Sunday and picked up a few things....so much value!

I can't wait to wear this dress from H&M!  So cute...

I did buy this shirt at BR and wore it yesterday !  I love it.

I think I am into lemons lately:)

And these were on sale plus 40% off....so I couldn't resist!

I ordered this from BP in a size 10 which is what I generally wear and couldn't hardly get my arms in it!  WTH?

And I picked up this navy t- shirt to wear with white jeans!

Alrighty then unfortunately I have a couple of appointments today so I gotta get moving:)

Happy Shopping!

BOULDER FLIP

You know what I have noticed lately?  And it's driving me crazy.  EVERYBODY HAS AN OPINION...... it's not just that..... but the fact that everyone wants that opinion known.

Now that in itself is not a terrible thing but crikey it's like if you don't agree with them....then well you are wrong.

But wait a minute....if you have an opinion about me and it's good I'm all ears....maybe scratch that mumbo jumbo above.

What was I thinking:)

OK....on to the before and afters of the Boulder flip.  It's a doozy.

Before....this 1880 square ft cottage

After

Before the back yard.

After....just a little yard cleaning.

OK....a color explosion!

Seriously a coat of Benjamin Moore White Dove is a game changer right?

Before....

After.....

Starting the process....had a little shopping to do but not much.  The sofa and chairs are from Pier One.  The wood chair is World Market.

Switched things around and bought a new coffee table from World Market!  It was on sale for 209.00 and its solid wood.  The rug is old West Elm, the bar from Target last year.
You can see that we couldn't center the sofa under the window....but I think addressing each side with some height helped out the situation.

Stripe pillows from Homegoods and the black and white ones from Target a few years ago.

We were looking for some art to go here but ran across these baskets at World Market and at 39.00 each it was a no brainer.  The small one [a placemat] was 1.00 at Pier One:)

So.....see the FP in the corner of the foyer????

HUH.....such an awkward place right?

Buh Buy.

Before accessorizing.

After...

Rug is old Target and the bench was ordered a few years ago on Wayfair I think.

I found this sketch at Homegoods!

Y'all this faux fig tree from World Market is the bomb!  179.00....

More crazy color....

The kitchen area before.

Cut down the island.  A little hex backsplash and some open shelves!

The island tile is from Home Depot.

Cute huh!

Faux flowers from World Market and the vase was from West Elm a few years ago.

I think the black and white chargers were from Pier One.  The floral napkins, pink plates and pink glasses were from World market.

Accessorizing those shelves are my favorite thing to do.

Friday I will show you the upstairs, laundry rooms and bathrooms.

And y'all it was under contract the first day on the market.

Alrighty then.....figuring out where to stay in Casablanca.  Checking AirBnB and well....couldn't find anything that wasn't reviewed at dirty....so it's looking like a Hotel.

Hope you slay this week and get everything done!
