THIS AND THAT

Can I hear a big ole "Hey" cause we made it to Friday!  Next up....rainy holiday weekend.

Of course.

No worries....I got plenty to do like paint that bathroom:)

I was flipping through my AH&L and I saw a cute little crib.

The home of writer Kathryn Stockett.  Hello gorgeous white house.  She had some help from her friend designer Caroline Normak.

Styling by: Thea Beasley
Photo cred: Mali Azima

So cute huh?
The iron windows and doors....crikey.

Get a load of this back view.....this is punch me in the face awesome.

Also in the issue is a feature of "power couples" here in Atlanta.

Jill and Rob Brinson.  Jill is the creative director of Ballard Designs and Rob is an acclaimed photographer.  They're just cool.

Owners of Bungalow Classic Courtney and Randy Tilinski.  It is no secret this is one of my favorite home stores in Atlanta.  Every time I go in there I am reminded that classic can be edgy and hip.

OK...that was the "this".....

From Bungalow Classic to Home Decorators [owned by Home Depot].  Yeah.....

I know how it is when you don't have a store to look at things you might want to order.  I am here to help with a few pictures.

Loved this neutral pillow.

I am not going to even act like you guys couldn't figure out all the changes you could make to this stool!

Copper Tray

I like this side table...the shelves..... the size

I hate the faucet but this is a great bath vanity.  Of course painting might be a must:)

They are having 20% off for the holiday weekend!

I posted this on IG the other day.  I have been pushing this Schumacher paisley wallpaper for so long....and no luck this time either:(

WTH?  who doesn't love paisley?

The indoor/outdoor rugs are from Dash and Albert, the large check is Robert Allen and the nubby trellis is Thibaut.

Can you believe it is the end of summer?

Time for fall....and Halloween....don't hate me when I say that is my least fav holiday.  The colors orange and black should be outlawed.

Just saying.

Y'all work this holiday to the bone.

WEST ELM AND THE WEEKEND

I hope everyone had a swell weekend.....I left y'all on Friday with thoughts of painting my powder room but just could not get motivated.

What is wrong with me?  I could hear all of you guys in my head painting...doing DIY projects...rearranging things and it still did not help to get me to the paint store.

Crap....maybe I need to schedule a party.  That will get you going right:)

I got an email that West Elm is having a great sale with 25% off their sofa's and chairs thru 9/1.

I had to pop over and see what's new.

The first thing that caught my eye was this cute sofa.

The Captain's Settee

It is very similar to this chair from Gabby Home which I love.

I pulled 2 different colors and put together a board...

Love this one welted in navy...
It would work in a small keeping area or maybe in an office right?

Have you seen some of WE's new lighting....and their art?

Here is another room done with the navy upholstery.
Again...trimmed out in a light color.  This could even be used in a dining area for seating.

Of course you can't leave West Elm without looking at their great accessories.

No secret that I love some black and white goodness.  The woven trays are a favorite also.
I used one on an ottoman here...

And in a bar setting!

How about the stackable boxes

Yes to those please.

So about my weekend.....here are a few iPhone pictures to sum it up.

I usually stack a bunch of pillows on the LR sofa to keep this girl off but on Friday she decided it was easy to kick those suckers out of the way:)

On Saturday I dressed her up in her best funeral/mourning outfit in honor of the loss of my friends dog.

I sent this to her and she said she looked like an old man.  I'm just busy....busy.

She managed to find a puppy that needed a home so things are better now....

Patchy smiled when she heard that news....

I tried this Bruschetta recipe from Mary Ann at Classic Casual Home and let me tell you....there were no leftovers!

And...dug out a collection of amber bottles for my mantel.

It's no wonder I had no time for painting right:)

There is always next weekend.

PILLOW TALK

OK....So....we got pretty smug here in Atlanta......  having hardly any days of really hot weather and then BAM.

We are hot....so hot they are warning us on TV with an "excessive heat advisory".

After that I was afraid to go outside so I stayed home and cleaned my house yesterday.  Seriously that's what it takes sometimes to get the deed done....an act of God.

What is it about cleaning anyway.  It's something you have to stay on top of kind of like calorie intake.  If you don't watch it all hell will break loose in both categories.

I had to get the camera out and take a few pictures of a couple of pillows I am donating to charity  Of course that opened up a whole can of worms and I found myself rummaging through the pillow archives to see what I could come up with.

Thought it might be an interesting post.....of course I will let you guys be the judge of that.

So these are the 2 that are going to charity.

I added the stripe pillow and changed up the coffee table a little.

Threw in some cheetah cause....it always works huh?

And.....a little turquoise can do the trick.

Take out the orange...add brown and white chevron.  Change out the coffee table.

I'm on a roll.

Change out the throw and add a cream pillow....things are crazy town now.

2 different pillows and a little tweaking to the coffee table.  Pink carnations are still working.

In my opinion.  .99 cents at the Kroger [on sale]

Complete overhaul.  Pillows and coffee table accessories.

Change the throw....

Add some texture on the coffee table.
Back to the cream pillow with one from the guest room...

And....drum roll please.  Hands down.

My favorite combination.  I still walk in my LR and swoon when I gaze on this beauty.  Schumacher Pyne Hollyhock in charcoal.

2 years and going strong.

What y'all up to this weekend?  I am thinking of painting my guest bathroom....like I have been for months now.  Then I get busy.....doing nothing:)
