Maybe y'all don't give a didily about my somewhat uneventful week seeing as you are all design obsessed peeps only looking for the next great trend....but so be it.
I do have a winner to announce so I thought I might as well try to make a blog post out of it.
If Melissa W would get in touch with me then I will put the loot in the mail to her.
Now on to randomness.
Finally after 3 months I had an install yesterday. OK well it was just a window treatment but I was pretty dang gum excited about it.
This is a dining area makeover I am working on using John Robshaw fabric
And progress...
Phew....I needed that. As a designer we live for this sort of stuff and I can tell you it only wetted my appetite for more. Call me greedy.
I was hanging out at Circa Lighting the other day and saw some of the beautiful new collection from Aeirn Lauder.
This one is breathtaking....one of those that you definitely need to see in person.
Another swell little beauty
Mid Century wall sconce
Different version
Hello Beautiful.
It would be best to just go to the website and see them....
Have you been to Ikea lately? Here in Atlanta they revamped the whole shebang.
Feast on this kicky little chair
I posted this new wallpaper book from Thibaut on Instagram and there was some discussion about chevron
It's out....it's in...it's over....been there done that. Here is my thought.
You guys are only sick of it because you read blogs. You are hot on the trail of a trend...take a bite.... chew it up and slap you hands together DONE.
That is not what it's like in real life. There are 7 million people who live in Atlanta and I bet if you take a poll most people would have no idea what the crap you were talking about.
Chevron? Isn't that a gas station?
And last....
I love this gorgeous gallery wall.
So much interesting art and the whole space is downright purdy.
Designed by Brian Patrick Flynn go here and read his blog.....but first put your coffee cup down unless you want it spitting out all over the place cause you might do one of those wide mouth laughs that catches bugs.
Alrighty then.....enough.

OMG, I just love you Sherry! You got us design whores pegged! LOL! Just when I'm sick of chevron I see something like the image above and I love it all over. I agree, all of my girlfriends are just now getting into the "zig zag" as they call it. They can't get enough of it. They think its new because you're right, they're not design obsessed blog readers like us. Have a great weekend Sherry! xo
I needed a reason to go to IKEA..a revamp!
Love those light fixtures.
Hate to say it, but I was "over" the "zig Zag" before it started!
Such a great post!!! Thanks for making me smile. You are right though, the people who don't read blogs all the time see things much differently. Enjoy your weekend!

LOL! You always make me smile or laugh Sherry!!!! I agree with you on the Chevron, a lot of my non-blogger friends still adore it and with this new paper, I can definitely feel the love again! In love with aerin's double lighted-wall sconces too, hope I can find a spot for this baby!
Those ikea wishbone-ish chairs are pretty awesome- I really adore the kelly green ones. And those curtains- UGH! fantastic. Can't wait to see the finished project!
Love you and your HONEST mouth and thoughts. No sacrin is so refreshing!
Denise
Love the drapery...his fabric is great!
Fine form today, my friend!!
I love those curtains!
Haha! You are so right about the real world. My friends who aren't into design still think brass is icky and outdated. Real world is way different.
Have a great weekend, Sherry!
You are so sassy! Gorgeous light fixtures, and I'm not totally over chevron when it looks like that. Have a great weekend! ~Carrie
the john robshaw print is killlluhrrrrr. trend schmend. we tune in for you. it's always been all about you, sher-sher so don't pretend to think otherwise.

I remember when you did the design board for this dining room. I related to it at the time because you called it Modern Country & that's the vibe my home has. Complete with the windsor chairs. I loved your board & I hope we get to see the whole room when you're done with it.
You are right about folks that don't read design blogs. I look at homes completely differently than my friend's do. My husband even accuses me of living in a bubble.
I didn't honestly like the wording you chose to start your post. That aside, you have talent. skip the trash talk.
Congrats to Melissa!! I saw all the butterflies and almost left a comment to enter...then I said to myself,"Now, you're becoming a greedy design whore", and pulled the plug. Beautiful stuff though! I still have my lovely HG gift card. I don't want to do anything stupid with it so I'm waiting to create the perfect design board to inspire my shopping trip. Well that or just giving in and buying a ton of throw pillows! Thank you, for inspiring me AND making me laugh with each and every post!!
Would you share the source of the chandelier shown on the board?
I have to agree -- I was taken aback by the trash talk too. I thought you were from The South?? ... sorry.
Hi Sherry, Those indigo patterned drapes are speaking to me! Love them with a natural, jute-like rug!!! Hope you have a fun weekend!
xo

You are so right about thinking a design trend is over because we read about them all of the time on blogs. In my shop, things that we 'out' to me a year or two ago, are hot items. I get something great in and cutting edge----not really selling yet. Gotta educate the folks!
Dead on regarding chevron. I see it - love it - then decide it's too late to jump in. I'm more of a blog whore actually, but calling myself a design whore does make me happy…. Circa lighting how I covet thee. And yes Ikea has revamped making it even harder to find the crap I'm there to buy. I need an adult beverage before I walk in the door. And how is it possible to spend a total of $300 on a few things priced at $4.99? Manage to do it every time. Perhaps the adult beverage is to blame?
Sherry you are cray cray! I almost died when I clicked on the work of Brian Patrick Flynn, loved his spots of purple in his home. Have a great weekend:)
Sherry
Love the fabric you chose for the draperies. Also agree with you about the chevron. Love reading your posts.

The John Robshaw fabric is bananas! I have a thing for block printed textiles. So nice to see it in your install.
I hate to say but I was never all that crazy about chevron, in, out or gas station. The crap part is that my daughter loves it and has curtains in her bedroom that I must incorporate into my ORC redo.
My first thought was, "Has she been drinking?"
Then I thought that maybe you were extremely exhausted. I started to look for the unsubscribe button, but thought I would give you another chance since I have seen you do many professional posts. Whatever--I don't expect to see "rat's ass" design whores" "What the crap." I would actually take a poll, not a pole. I do love the lighting fixtures you posted. Using shock words expresses anger or tries to get attention. Your readers show respect by subscribing and reading your blogs. It's a design blog--not a sailor's journal.
First, lol on the chevron and all of us in or out or over it and half the world doesn't even know what it is -- HOW TRUE. And then, to the comment above mine, really? You have used the same voice and language forever, which cracks me up because it is so unexpected from your lovely looking self and is consistently authentic. oh well. Wish I could run into you at High Point!
I have to agree with dt. You have too much talent to take out your frustration on your adoring readers. We are design obsessed and designers like you are our high design priestesses.
Your dining area board is beautiful and I would love to see the completed room.
that last photo!! I pinned right away. I adore a god gallery wall like that...and the plants....a really perfect room. And that chevron photo....i liked it all over again. Good job...not easy to do...make a blogger like chevron. That was a beautiful image as well.
I returned today because I had to let you know how I felt when I read your "whore" expression. It made me ashamed of a fellow Georgian and I am glad to see that you have changed that word to "peeps". You are much too talented to resort to degrading trash talk.
I Love all those lights!! That dining are will be fantastic!
Sherry you are awesome! LOVEING all of your possible light choices. And I still love chevron I don't care... and I love John Robshaw fabrics even more!!! Love him!
You are authentic and if anyone has taken the time to read your blog they will sense your tongue in cheek style of wit/writing-sorry you felt compelled to edit your original post- I (and others) think you are refreshing and so rat's-ass talented! ....(sorry:)
Ditto Kate I wouldn't change a thing. You are fun to read as is, I'm sorry you felt you had to clean up your post. Your posts are funny and fun to read, not to mention educational.
Oh my gosh! I am Melissa W.!! I never, ever win anything! ***so excited***
Thank you!

Of course I had to catch up on this post since I hadn't read it yet. Window treatments MAKE a room. Touch, feel, look - those are yummy. Kudos to you for being who you are - that's what I like about your blog Sherry. That you dont' deviate from who you are. If people {above} don't like it, don't read. Done and done.
WOW......I didn't read the post but all I can say is "buck up ladies, life is full of emotion and those who express it are often saner than those of you who don't!"
I'm dying over these negative comments and a little jelly I didn't get to read the unedited version live :)
I can totally just picture what a total bore blogs would be without the author's voice. Oh, right I don't read those.
Wide stripes are in for fall...blah blah blah. Okay. I love a little sass.
And please tell me you WERE drinking wine while you wrote this. Lest some readers forget they are "subscribing" for free so the least they can allow you is to this space be fun for you to produce.
xo,
You had me at John Robshaw--and then you threw in the Thibaut. Excuse me while I go wipe my drool...
Ok...I had to come and check out the comments. I read your last post. I laughed. I didn't see anything wrong with it. But, I am not from..." The South."
Your chevron comment is perfection!
Shari please do not change your "demeanor". We love you the way you are! Your wit is what makes your blog so darn fun!
And why are the critical comments always Anonymous? Oh brother, these folks need to get over themselves. Let's all just let everyone be who they are.
Love, Your Trash Talking Reader from Texas, which yes, is in the South :)
Don't go breaking my heart by changing. We need a whole lot more of keeping it real than keeping it pretty in this platform. You know I love ya, and I mean it.
Signed, another salty sailor
I live in DC, the capital of political correctness and Ifind your expressions authentic. Sherry, you keep on trash talkin and being who you are. If that loses you a few readers, then that's the cycle of blogging.
