ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 2

Thanks to all of my "friends" who commented on "trash talking".  I say friends because you are the ones who love me in spite of my self.  I am officially putting "cussgate" to bed:)

Speaking of....who is so over "book gate" on RHONY?  Crikey.

On to week 2 of the ORC.

If you are late to this game.....read about it here.

I don't know about you but I love catching up on all of the progress....although it usually takes me 2 days to get around to every post!

OK....the dining room....where are we today.

If you guessed wrapping the room in horizontal planks then high five!

It was gonna cost me plenty to get these walls prepped for paint so for a little extra coin  I decided to add major texture.

I had it wrapped around into the LR.

The doors were hung and need to be painted.  They were white on one side and stained a dark brown on the other.

Here is the paint color I that took me a thousand hours to choose chose:  Benjamin Moore Granite AF-660

If you remember these are the pillows in my living room.

Schumacher Hollyhock.  I love it.  Period.
I know you think I am fickle when it comes to pillows but I don't see myself getting tired of it anytime soon.

Famous last words right:)

Here is the door hardware I ordered.

It's from Emtek.  Black and crystal.  I looked for some vintage hardware but since I needed [4] it was proving to be slightly impossible and time consuming.

So far I am keeping the chairs but I have had the table and base on Craigslist for 3 weeks now and nothing.  What?????  Where are all these people who shop on CL.

Here are some other things that will be happening:

Window Treatments
Rug
Table and Base
Lighting
Art

Each one will take about 100 hours to decide.  Yes...I am definitely feeling the pressure.

I am on my way to see what everyone else has gotten done this week.

You could wrap my whole house in Hollyhock and I'd be happy. Love the planks.

Love the planks, could you tell us what material you used for the planking? Ship-lap?

The wall planks look SOOOOOO good and I too am obsessed with the Hollyhock fabric- this is going to be so so good!

L*O*V*E - your walls look fantastic! I agree that fabric is beautiful and timeless. Please, when you get a chance tell us about your walls - materials, etc. I had planked walls installed in my bathroom and they caulked them - which I thought was a bad idea - it was. It is all cracking, and I have to have someone come and fix them - and remove the caulk. Just wondered what you did with your walls. Your room is going to be stunning! I'm working on a office building design right now. I'm loving it!

Looks so amazing already!! To sell your furniture, try joining a local Facebook tag/garage sale site and listing it there - I've sold so much furniture on our local FB tag sale site that I didn't get a nibble on when I listed it on Craigslist.

As one who lives and therefore drives in LA, I've usually called some dummy on the street a mother effer before most people roll out of bed. Language doesn't bother me...it's just a way of expressing oneself. Plus, you know I think you rock.

Planking is looking good! Gonna be an awesome vibe in your rooms!

Beth C. said...

I know many have said it before me, but PLEASE share the deets on the planking: what kind of material, how wide are the boards, how much spacing between boards, etc, etc. I am planning on doing this in my bedroom and dining room. Can't wait to see the outcome! Best, Beth C.

Love the planked walls. It's looking fantastic! I'm knee deep in paint as we speak. Why did I think it was a good idea to paint my bathroom on my own!? Mental note to hire that one out next time.

Can't wait to see your finished room in a few weeks!!

I like your plan for the DR, but I can't stop laughing at " book gate on Rhony" She is, however incredibly dimensional and gifted.
