Well first thing this morning I get an email from my hair salon saying that all services are 20% off today. First come, first serve.
AND....I was going to call to get my hair colored today anyway....yee haw!
For those of you who are young and do not have to color your hair....I got nuthin to say. Your dead to me.
Yesterday I had the kitchen curtains installed at my clients house. The one I was working on this winter.
Remember???
Well here is the inspiration picture for the treatment over the sink...
When you open the front door and look down the hall the window over the sink is the first thing you see.
Now I am no "picture taking expert here"....so I did the best I could. Had to climb up on a barstool and try to get a shot without it looking like a black hole.
Here is the valance. It has a slight curve to it.
This fabric has what they call a "drop repeat". Which in curtain terms means "you need extra fabric"...which in money terms means "$$$$$".
A small price to pay for happiness when you stand over your kitchen sink for like a third of your life. At least right???
Here is the before view of the dining area. And yes those bulbs are heinous....there.....caught you before you muttered it under your breath.
Here is a picture of the slipper chairs before....
And yes...I picked that fabric 20 years ago. Again....stop snickering. I want to see what you picked when you were all of 15.
And here is a peek of the after. If you look closely, we used a fan pleat. My fav.
These were not staged.....no rug yet...yada...yada...yada....
She has a lot of really colorful art and I love this one to keep it fun and not so traditional...
Baby steps.....I love these rods from Gifer [their iron collection]. This is the only site I found online [not where I get mine]. You can get 19 ft rods that are easy for your installer to cut. He said they are his favorite.
And I want my installer to be happy.
On another note....I saw these Suzanne Kasler lamps in Ballard's. I went over there yesterday to preview.
Can I just tell you how awesome they are for the price??? Perfect height [they come in a tall and short], and really nice shade. I ordered 2 cream ones for her den.
I really wanted a blue/green one but had to settle for cream. I will probably add some blue trim to the shade.
And the last thing today my little chicas....... the winner of the giveaway is Erin....who does not blog but leaves me sweet comments all the time...:)
So there you have it.
One other little tidbit that I am sure will either make you smile or consider me a loser. The other day when I came home from teaching my fitness class, I noticed that I had my pants on backwards. Yup...the whole class.
Let's get through this Wednesday.....check you pants.....

I heart white kitchens and I can't wait to see the finished product. The window treatments look fab. I walked around the other day with my fly open for about 4 hours. How lovely is that?
Ha,ha, this post made me smile. Love it all. Is it possible to tell me what color is on that kitchen island? I know that was not a part of the post, but it's gorgeous.
Love, love, love all those fresh details in the area. Spending the extra money for a first-class look is always beneficial and they'll never regret it. Those big blue Buffalo checks rock! Why is it that we never know we've had our pants on backwards until we get back home? Just learn to laugh it off.
Great post! I love all the details. The drapes are amazing , love . I read that one blogger put her daughter's giant red bow in her own hair while she was buckling her in car seat. Wore it all day , shopping , children's school , saw it when she got home;0 I could pee!!! Amazing that no one ever tells us or comments privately?
Gorgeous!! I love the kitchen and the eating area. Just beautiful! The fabrics are to die for.
That kitchen is BEYOND amazing!!! & so is the rest of the house. Love those ballard lamps. And you are some kind of hilarious with your pants on backwards!!
I am still laughing!!! Love this post. I was shocked when my son asked me if I colored my hair....politely told him I was a natural blonde (I was born blonde, naturally) then he inquired about the dark root line.....kids!
oh i want to live on that island!!!
and I DID THE SAME EXACT THING!!! i had on my pants teaching my class and the felt snug in the butt and i thought "oh crap, i am gaining weight!" half way through class i noticed the nike swoosh that is usually over my left hip was over my right butt cheek. i asked the glass how no one noticed and decided to tell me!!!!! i finished teaching, relieved that my butt had not actually grown out of my pants, but OH MY GOSH. i was so embarassed! that is what happends when you teach at 6 am i guess.
Your posts are always great for a laugh. Positive I'll giggle over this one each time it sneaks into my brain today!
Love the fabrics. Want that large check on the parsons chairs. I am going to have to save my pennies to get my two parsons chairs recovered.
Really great job; I love all of your choices! I want to get one of the Kassler lamps for my bedroom, in the blue I think. The floors really set off the fabrics.
I have worn tops backward/ not pants, yet!

It all looks beautiful, are you able to tell us what fabric that is over the sink? That would be so pretty for my breakfast room which I am working on now. Thanks, nice job.
I love that gorgeous kitchen! And the contrasting island is a wonderful idea! Adore the fabric on the chair, too. I can't wait to this kitchen all styled, it's already so beautiful now!
Have a good day, Sherry!

Perfection! I was relieved about the bulbs, but knew you were on it :). Enjoy your hair appointment!
LOL-At your last statement. At least your underwear was on the INSIDE of the INSIDE OUT pants! There's something to be said for that!

Is that buffalo check from CC? Is the color sebreeze? Love it!
Looks great, love the island color. I am considering repainting our own island a color, I want black my husband has a hard time visualizing and since its not a huge kitchen is afraid it will be too much, this color is beautiful.
lovely!!
oh my...what a hoot! better than your shoes on backwards or better yet...two different shoes which someone I dearly love (not me) has done. This kitchen is dreamy. Good job on the picking..you've learned a lot..but we were all smarter now right?
Funny. Your window treatments look beautiful! Great fabrics there.
My grandson came home today and said it was backwards day. So I put my shirt and pants on backwards. You were not alone!
Lovely fabric & window treatment design. Backwards pants means you can stick out your stomach & your booty has more support... just saying....
You had me laughing in the first sentence... omg...
Love the fabric you're using on the window and the chairs... i'm a HO for gingham...
And, you teach a fitness class?! Who knew!
Cindy
Sherry, you never fail to crack me up. ha ha...Sherry Hart Backwards Pants...Now I'm going to be singing the spongebob tune all night. ;) I love the project...especially those buffalo check chair covers and the gorgeous lantern. Love. I'm right there with ya on the hair color. Getting mine "did" on Friday ;). Can't wait!
omg! i SO needed that, thank you!
Omg, give me those window treatments. I love them more than words. Willing to risk robbery (okay, kidding, blog police), but how spectacular, Sherry! I love your work. And as for the pants, well, it just says you have more important and lofty things on your mind -- not a bad thing :) PS I literally gasped out loud at those drapes.
You make me laugh every morning ! I love to read
Your blog is the first one I look for every morning.
I love the island in that kitchen.
Heidi
Hi Sherry! I just love your blog - it makes my day! The treatment over the window is amazing. I have just finished my kitchen and had a huge window to deal with - it's a blessing and a curse having a window this size over the sink.
By the way ... I had a pair of underwear fall out of my workout pants while at Kroger. They had static clinged to the inside leg and fell out at just the most perfect moment. Yikes!
Ha! I think I just laughed my pants right off!
Love the kitchen - it's looking gorgeous and those curtains/valance are beautiful :)
Love those window treatments Sherry...the fabric and the style, just beautiful. Have always been attracted to buffalo check...so happy to see it again :)
Checking my pants....always good adevice :)
Have a good one...
Beautiful work! thanks for your visit and comments. You have a new follower!
Have a great day!
Love the fabric you used for the curtains. It is going to be beautiful!Cant wait to see this project when it is done.
Love the soft blues you're using in your clients home and I can't wait to see the finished results.
I'm not that young but don't color my hair. I'm afraid I would be running to the salon every week since the grays are popping in faster then I can blink!

Debra~
wow, looks fantastic! love your colour palette.
I was 18, Sherry, not 15.
How cool that you were hired by the same folks again AND that you get to design this amazing house. If we could all pick your brain, we'd be in for an entire encyclopedia of decorating knowledge and wisdom.
Camille
haaaaa! i love what you did with that kitchen window. it is a shining star now. lamps are fabulous. and the pants story made my night. that is so me. except i would also find my front teeth smeared with lipstick.

michele
These are gorgeous! Those floors look wonderful. Have a delightful day, Kellie xx
I'm so glad I read every last word- cause you saved that zinger about your pants for the end! Ha! I thought I was the only one to do things like that!
Girl you are too funny! Pants on backwards?!?! Thanks for always making me laugh out loud when I read your posts! That kitchen is to die for...beautiful. Have a great weekend.
