Where is the faith baby?????

Cutting right to the chase today...no small talk.

Got one of those panicked text's this morning about that FP mantel and surround going in over at my clients house....."Yikes....I don't know.....not sure......please come see...before we proceed"

Now as a designer, you kind of get just a little sick when you get one of those.  Maybe a little "baby vomit" in your mouth, because you told them it would be spectacular.....you jumped up and down and sold it to them like Adam was selling that apple to EVE.

Oh my gosh....cancel all appointments.....clear schedule  Go now.

Breath.  Simmer.  It's all good.  Trust your instincts.  It is going to be great.....keep repeating all of this over and over again.

Proceed to planned appointment.

Look what I would have missed.

The closet.  And these.

in person...in the flesh.

Whoa mamasita.....

I got so excited over the closet and the shoes....it was like I was 10 again and got a new Barbie outfit.
Could you die?????

Rows and rows of gorgeousness...I wanted to play dress up.

I am sure she would have thought they just released me for the day if I had asked her to leave the room so I could fondle.

Asking to take the pictures was probably a tiny stretch but I could not help myself.

I wanted to line them up like little soldiers.  Mommy.....

OK...back to the "design crisis"

I pulled up....she met me at the door...... we rounded the corner and I sighed.

 Whew, it looked great.

But...in her defense the wall color was not helping, nor the color of the brick....not to mention the orange floors....all to be changed.  But I loved it.  And besides, I have the vision.... said like Earnest Angley out loud doing a healing.

The mantel is up.  They are making the corbels.....and yes, the brick is pink.

BAM...take that hoola hoop!

I am so proud of myself.  Goal was..... 3 post this week.  Did it.  Clothes have been in the washing machine since yesterday....more in the dryer looking like crumbled newspaper I am sure.  No food in the fridge.  House looks like a tornado ripped through the place.

But hey I am talking priorities here.

Have a smoking weekend.

Haha! Love your post Sherry! You're so funny!

PS. throw a little white vinegar in the washer when you run it to rewash those clothes and they'll smell fine- no mildew. Take it from me, a chronic-leave-clothes-in-&-forget'em-er

Oh, are we suppose to keep up on the laundry and keep food in the house? Oops...no one told me ;o)

Oh, my gosh my gut is hurting from laughing. Great mantel. Not sure about the shoes. I would fall off of them!

You just described my house. And lots of my days ( except for the joy of those shoes). You're so right! It's going to be fabulous!

I totally know that "baby vomit" feeling too! When clients call and they don't see the vision like we do, they panic. But that is why they pay us! Good job Sherry! You know what you are doing and you follow through with that vision! That is a really fun house. It is going to look amazing!

Ha! I am soooo glad to hear I am not the only one. You left me hanging...I am now wanting to see more to that mantel!

Oh yeah! That fireplace mantel has me all fired up...I forgot about the shoes. My feelings are mutual, I could cry to see em in person because they are too cute!

LOVE the mantle....but truthfully....WHO wears those kind of shoes and WHERE does one go around here to wear them? Geez...I need to get out more!

Ah...All is well that ends well. It sounds like you tamed the rumbling of the homeowner AND got to see some pretty sexy shoes up close and personal. It was a good day! xo Diana

You always have me laughing! Holy smokes, that is an incredible shoe collection! The mantle is fabulous and can't wait to see the entire thing done. So great, Sherry! My week sounds about like yours, without the shoes. I have piles of fabric and other samples all over the house for clients. Cleaning up the tornado this weekend! I'd be embarrassed if anyone stopped by unexpectedly!

Beautiful Mantel ! Great Design ! I can just imagine how nice this home is going to be with her taste in Decorating if she has such wonderful taste in Shoes ! Her shoe collection is Fabulous ! I have no idea how she can possibly wear this size heel and go too far ?!?! I would have a pair of "soft fancy flats " in my Handbag with every outing !

Smokin what girl?
You have the "vision" of the total picture in your head, and the client can't see it yet. It's gonna be so awesome when your done... and you know it! Cool! I love the wood already... You should see one of my paintings when i first start it, it looks like big smudges of mud smeared on a canvas... it even scares me!

Sherry, I'm easy (ummm... should have used a different word) you can have the shoes I want the mantle!!! Enjoy your weekend!! xo

Congratulations, Sherry, on a vision realized. That mantel is going to be fabulous. As for the shoes, I just don't get them. Without the platforms, any one of them could be lovely. With them, it is a trend that will end, I hope, before too many women break an ankle.
All the best...Victoria

I had a client who was never sure of ANYTHING! Luckily I was friends with her so I could make fun of her to ease the pain of having to constantly reassure her.
