Is this pretty or what?????

I had a whole other post but got so sidetracked with these photos from my favorite magazine Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles

Seriously, you are going to drool.....and maybe faint.

Beth Ervin is her name and serious design is her game!  I know...corny.  Whatever.

Photography by Erica George Dines

Check these out.  But first....remember to be happy with what you have.  I know I had to pinch myself out of the trance a few times.

Let's just start with the dining room.  Could you die?  So soft, the rug, the blue doors.  It is me!  I love everything about it.  It is traditional, but not in a stuffy way.....

If you weren't convinced...then feast your eyes on this sunroom.  What is NOT to like here.  That bench...those pillows.  The ottoman.  I. Feel. Dizzy.

Call me crazy, but I love that apron over the sink.  And this door.  oh ma ga.....

Wait...there is more!
Dining area...help I need a crash cart....having a heart attack here.

I feel my blood pressure going down in this room.  Just a touch of blue........the perfect place to have a glass of wine and look at beautiful pictures in a magazine.  Just sayin.....

Uh Huh...now I have your attention.  Yes siree.......The walls, the doors, that coffee table.

Perfect

And now for the powder room.....

Love the vanity, the only thing I would have done is put a basket under to hide the plumbing....
How cool is that paper???

Beth.....you busted it out on this one.....Who are you?  I googled and found nothing.....

On the other hand....this months issue is all about color!

And it features work done by Brian Patrick Flynn....

Check it out.  Photography by the talented Christina Wedge
Framed wallpaper samples.....against that gorgeous blue wall......

So fun and out of the box.....love the painted table!!!

Brian....you rock!

I have said this before...AH&L is one awesome magazine.

I am so happy to know that I am not alone with wearing my pants backwards.....so many of you shared your little secrets with me and I appreciate it.

I am going to the beach on Sat to celebrate my birthday

 It's a big one......somewhere in between 59-61.

Yeah...that one.  Honestly I am in shock.  Remember me telling you this......as Cher once said.....

"Getting old sucks."

Old Sha Ray.

Whenever I see these beautiful Atlanta homes featured in AH&L, I always wonder where they are located. Much of the time I can figure it out (I love to see both the outside and the inside, and often magazines don't show both). I know where the second home on this post is located, but not the first!

AH & L is the best. When I got home from vacation, it was waiting for me in the pile of accumulated mail. My husband saw me reading it and said, "I thought you were tired and going to bed?" Not when there's an issue to look through I'm not!

Love that powder room too.

I fainted... holy moly, i see what you mean, wow, that first photo is so on my Pinterest now.
And... geeeeesh, you're having THAT birthday... i'm not far off from between 59-60. Getting old DOES suck, and If i were brave enough and rich enough, i would go fix some stuff...
It's a good thing you've been doing workout classes for 30 years, that's why you look so great, and your personality is youthful and funny as hell and ageless...

Sometimes I don't know how to write out my excitement in these comment boxes. I might just have to sign up for Atlant Homes mag because online isn't cutting it anymore. Happy Birthday Sherry!! Sherry, I just love your blog. I read A LOT of blogs but yours is definitely on the top of my list for so many reasons but mostly your humor. However, today I like that you told us to be happy with what we have - sage advice and if you were a lot younger, you wouldn't have thought to include that. So there you go - happy birthday. Love love these images, I can see why you became so excited. Elegant, but simple and liveable at the same time. I call it understated elegance, that is exactly what I love too. Happy Birthday, I know what you mean about 60, it is impossible to even think we could possibly be that age, crazy!! I was in Egypt at the pyramids two years ago for my big 60!! I don't care how old we get we will never feel that old!! It is just not in our fiber!! Have a wonderful time and keep telling yourself you look at least 10-15 years younger than your chronological age!! Trust me on this!! Love ya,
Kathysue

I too am drooling over that first home...at least I hope it is because of the home and not because I am 70. That is why I am renovating my kitchen while I still know where the kitchen is and what to do in it when I get there. 60 ain't nothin' my dear. You are fabulous.

Have the best birthday celebration ever.

Well first Happy Birthday Sherry...and you are very funny! I do love to read along as I look at each image and laugh all the way through.

Generally I'm more white than cream...but I have to say this is very restful looking. The painted brick, the kitchen with the little lamp, the doors...dreamy!

Hi sherry
I used to live around the corner from Beth in Atlanta. Her personal residence is just up from the Bobby Jones Golf Course and is stunning. She doesn't have a website but her home was featured in Veranda a few years back . you
you might try the Veranda website to see more of her work.

How LOVELY! Sometimes I can't decide what I love most - the subtle elegance shown in the first house, or the vibrant explosions of color, like in the second. Maybe I'll just have to have two houses someday!

And speaking of Atlanta - I was just swooning over all the pictures from a gorgeous Atlanta house that was featured in the latest issue of Veranda. I put up pictures on my blog. You could take a peek, if you don't have that issue yet. :) xoxo

ok, first - I too am loving that apron over the sink! It's amazing how a small tweak can make something old totally fresh and current. For me it's the longer sections between the scallops. Secondly, I've seen pictures of you and know for a fact that you are totally lying about your age. No way your between 59-61 ;) Would love a post on what you are doing to look so young!
