Guest Post

First of all I am SO excited about all of your comments about my 2 year "blogiversary ".  Good Lord is that even a word?   Webster's?

Ya'll might think I am funny but most of my friends think I am one fry short of a happy meal.....at times anyway.......but I still love most of them.

Today I am over at Amanda Carol at Home.

She and I have a lot in common....she loves coffee....me too!  Fabrics and thrifting....me too.....
News flash......I bet you guys do also...am I right.  Are we all separated at birth?????

Do we need a small country to run?  Do you wait for breaks in conversation so you can start blabbing on about design, paint colors, your latest purchase at the Goodwill?  Are people starting to avoid you?????

Oh yeah...back to Amanda.

She has good taste....for instance her office....

And she can set a pretty table...see...we even both love blue vases.

How about her photography skills....

So go on over....I did a feature called "Coffee With"....and you can bet that I made myself sound way more interesting than I really am....:)

Tuesday I had to rush to the emergency vet with my dog.  He has already been operated on for twisted stomach...uh huh...about 6 grand [that is moola, jack, CASH for those of you interested] for that one, 2 years ago.  He exhibited the same symptoms again so off we went.  Well of course the stomach has already been sewn so that it can not twist again, but he was so bloated and disoriented I knew he was sick.

Turns out that he is just maybe prone to this type of thing....bloat.  Great.  Another 2 grand.  AYFKM?????

Holy Mackerel.....

Sometimes I feel like I just can't get ahead.

Wow, you should have gotten pet insurance long time ago!

Hey doll...we had our dog on chemo for a year. I know from crazy pet-owner, I'm with you. Now I have a silly kid who was suspected to have the twisted stomach thing, which only turned out to be a $2000 FART. Good times.

Poor doggie, and poor you! I can totally relate. I tell my vet all the time that her kids can thank me for putting them through college. My dog is one hot mess. She's lucky she is cute!

I'm so sorry about your puppy. That is so stressful. I know what you mean about the moola - it goes quick with dogs. My friend was pet insurance and I'm now thinking that may not be a bad idea. And yes, we need to start our own country of bloggers. It would be awesome. Off to check out your guest post.

I'm sorry your dog wasn't feeling well, and it cost you an arm and a leg! Off to check out your guest post.

Oh hells bells on that poor dog and your wallet! Love that Amanda Carol at Home - she has great taste and is a fellow coffee drinker. Can't go wrong with a friend like that! Enjoy your weekend.

Congratulations on two years in the land of blog, Sherry.

So sorry to hear about your poor pup!!

Sherry thank you so much for participating in "Coffee With" today. I am so sorry about your doggie. We are going through vet bills like crazy too! My Westie has heart disease, heart murmur, double ear infection and a kidney infection. I should have been a vet...

Congrats on your two years of blogging and if we start our own country of like minded individuals, you MUST be president! We'll just laugh and decorate and drink coffee all day long!
I hope your "puppy" feels better and that your wallet does not feel too much lighter.

I understand about vet bills. My dog has had two surgeries and a prayer vigil. We even had God rooting for our dog.

We promised we would’t give him another surgery, but the last time he was sick my hubby was ready to pay yet again. Luckily, he didn’t need it. The bad part about it is he barks at me.

Oh So sorry about your dog. I had the same thing happen to a Bassett Hound years ago.

Ooh poor puppy!! That is horrible, for him and for you guys!! We spent a lot of money on my last dog as well, they are part of the family and it just doesn't matter. Sherry thank you SOOOO much for your thoughful words of encouragement the other day, it meant the world to me. And I'm sorry I have been so MIA over here with all my schoolwork getting in the way, it's hard to even post on my blog these days! Thank you also for what you said about my brother's song, he was so blessed by that. BIG hugs to you and a happy weekend :)

I think you are hilarious. I know all too well about the cost of surgeries. Im thinking about getting pet insurance in case of emergencies. We have been fairly lucky on that end. I actually just posted my dogs story about his tragic beginnings and how we came to adopt him. About your post, that office is divine, I want it for my own. Best wishes

Your one fry short of a happy meal joke made me laugh! But the pet expenses made me want to cry. My oldest has been wanting a dog for years, and I know she'll be a great dog lover, but these kinds of stories make me want to save those thousands for home decor! Hope all is well now!

Happy weekend!

Oh, Sherry, that is not a fun way to spend $2,000! If it helps to know that someone else is suffering, my boys' godmother has a dachshund who just had his FOURTH spinal surgery. He's the bionic dog at this point!

Poor puppy...and poor you -- literally. I sometimes think vets can charge these outrageous prices because are pups are family members and we cannot do anything else. And I say thank goodness for all those who are one fry short of a Happy Meal. Without funny and creative -- and, yes, a little kooky -- folks like you, life would be very boring. Off to visit Amanda.
Best...Victoria

What breed of dog do you have....Golden? We lost a dog on the operating table a few years ago from the same thing. We have found dividing our current Golden's food into 2 parts helps him from eating too fast. Hope your dog gets better!
Just discovered your blog. LOVE your style!

We also have a high maintenance dog. Wonder Dog. Wonder how much his operations have all added up to. Dog allergies? Special diets? On and on. Oh well! Hope yours is better soon!!

Aw, sorry about your dog! We spent about 5 grand on our girl Stu last year. She had destroyed her right knee and there is an alternative (better) surgery out there, but it costs more. It was worth it though - she happily runs on our hikes like a pup again and less like an old dog. And yes, people think we are NUTS for spending that on a DOG... but she's ours and it's our money.

Lori @ Lori May Interiors said...

So sorry about your sweet baby, but I'm glad he's on the mend. I found a dog today hanging out in our yard. His owners need to call soon, because Mr. May is not going to be happy about this!

Lou Cinda @ Tattered Hydrangeas said...

Definitely need pet insurance....but the most important thing is that he is okay and on the mend.....and don't even pause to think about what you could have bought at Scotts with 8 grand....

but really, your baby is fine and after all, they are like our children!

hope he has a better rest of the week!
